I've always felt that men should men and women should be women. I do however get attracted to people who are androgynous physically, but they must have very masculine personalities. I hate hate hate men who are passive and weak (mentally/emotionally), I hate women who act rude and constantly try to be "one of the guys" (again, personality wise). I need men to be take charge and women to be delicate? Not sure how to put it. Anyway, Venus is in the 2nd house. My Chart ruler is Venus as well, which might explain it. But anyway, I'm really really serious about this. I like the traditions! I think they are there for a reason. I'm not saying all women need to be the same nor that tomboys shouldn't exist, but it's just, I hate how people try to blend the roles and put on acts. IP: Logged |

It's funny, I had a conversation with a Pisces about gender roles in arguments today; women are almost always the instigators when it comes to emotional warfare. The Pisces is gay and during our company bbq I made a joke about how women abuse their license to be a little crazy during a breakup or fight and that I'm glad that I'm not gay because I'd go INSANE fighting with another woman. This eventually lead to the consensus that we're all very loony, and the Pisces proclaimed that sometimes wishes she weren't gay because all her ex-gfs are just crazy. Her: Hahaha, just kidding... but not really (LOL). IP: Logged |

Yeah, that's pretty much me as well. Not too much feminine, though. At least in my case. Just a few things here and there. My Mercury is in Taurus. "Girl Stuff" for me is Martha Stewart things, like making my own vinaigrette, or doing crafts. A "craft" in my book is refurbishing old furniture to decorate the house. Things around those lines. That's about as girly-girl as I can stand. Honestly, I just don't have it in me! I despise the color pink, and was shocked when I saw an article about what the color choices were between men and women. I liked all the colors the guys liked. Hated the colors women liked. Oh well. It is what it is.

@blugrey, for me its not about overriding tradition. Not at all! In fact, I believe everyone should be who they want to be and have the preferences they want. Its really offputting to me when people scoff at women who truly want to be stay-at-home moms or homemakers, for example. Just personally, for me, I like having a balance. I could not see myself at either extreme. @Purr, LOLOL. That's a very interesting conversation to have...especially with a pisces. I actually remember an Aries friend of mine (who is gay) wondering how we could date men! (she was partially jesting of course) Whats weird is that it seems like she gets along way better with guys than girls but oh well...can't pinpoint that. @Cosmic: My mother looooves doing the same things, and she's a Virgo with a Taurus Rising. One of things I love about earth, really! I have a Virgo Moon too and don't mind crafting things, and I cook as well (Cancer I guess), but that's usually out of neccesity. Can't stand all the processed stuff out there. But I do like to stand back and admire my work once in a while. And are there alot of women who like pink? Because I don't, I've always been a green/blue-aqua person.
