Yes, well theres nothing modern about it & the walls are timeless. Overall, it looks like something you'd see in early generations. People who are cultural like to keep things exactly the way they were when it was made.

i think it's my Saturn in 9th house Virgo that does that.

But the neat freak in me is urged to refurbish the room though splash some colours here and there, keep the beams... Get an original cover for the fireplace, brush up the floors. Actually, it looks a bit like my apartment, funnily enough

LOL, yea i'm not the tidiest person around. but yea, i WOULD actually add some colours, imagine it themed with my favourite colours, pale turquoise tones, berry shades with off-white, ivory, cream colours and voila.

Heh I am pretty tidy yes Sometimes to the point of neurotic, where everything has its carefully calculated place and will be put back once hurricane Conor has stopped raging on the ground floor

My favourite pallet is aubergine, purple, wine red, antique pink, pretty much anything purple/red/pinkish... You should have seen my apartment first, it was awfully dark but somehow it worked!

I used to have my bedroom bright turquoise when I still lived with my parents... I think it actually influenced my sleeping habits too. I never managed to sleep there for more than 5 hours on end!

I really do have a thing for colourful things though

@Moonfish: well, the only thing that really connects any of my bedroom tastes, is that I prefer rich colours and heavy or dark furniture. I think that's making up for my lack of Earth

and you stick your tongue out too much.

i love that range of shades from "antique pink" to "aubergine" too. not too much into purple but sometimes i find myself going over the line into the realm of purple...

i also do love the colours in Indian culture. when i was a painter, my teacher was always astonished, "i don't know how you do it, with all the colours you put on your canvas, you somehow manage to pull it off without hurting my eyes!" she said it's because i sneak in neutral colours like white and brown cleverly.

I didn't think of that o.o I only have two air signs and they say my style is Airy. But Saraintheski & I have a lot in common in our charts yet our styles are very different. Still, you could be right.

@lechien:

Oh, you should see me in real life! I hate to say it's a habit I truly have in real life too, no wonder people tend to find me immature

I only just realized how many times I used the in that previous post though, I usually try to avoid overkill of that smiley...

Whenever I think of Indian culture really the first thing I think of is the colours. Then the food I love that culture, have always wanted to visit...

Ah, and the hurricane always has me in his grip. He knows how to play his mammy very well... And pretty much everyone else he meets. I think it's his Leo rising, or his Libra moon, but damn that child is charming! The funny thing is, I think he must have picked it up from seeing me frantically cleaning up after him, he actually starts cleaning things up himself now!

@Moonfish:

Well, I'm not sure what you can class my style under. Some would say Earthy, and I do have Mars in Capricorn, my chart's ruler in Capricorn and both in 2nd house, but still I don't notice a lot of earth in my behaviour. Or maybe I just don't see it.

Also, my living room style is completely different. THAT would be very airy, light furniture, whites and off whites on the walls, see-through curtains etc... So perhaps we should look at what room could represent what part in our chart? (I'm guessing houses) I mean, a bedroom is private, you need it to relax, sleep, so you can't be disturbed. I prefer darks there because it blends in with the night, and since I have very light sensitive eyes I just cannot sleep in a room with too bright walls and other adornments. A living room is where you recieve guests etc... it has to look open and whatnot. At least I think so. And I think my feelings towards every room help me create a certain style for them.

I think Saturn squares are a good thing! My Aunt has Sun square Saturn and she's a very hard worker. You can always count on her to get things done, and Hey so does Oprah! Beyonce has Moon square Saturn so again, I think it's a good aspect to have

Um sth cozy and plush. Understated but makes a statement. Sth that feels warm and comfy, not too cold and futuristic (that's why I find hotels nice but wouldn't like to live there)

Trying hard to find the perfect pic butttttt here's a pic of a bed I would like!
Ignore background, just focus on bed haha

Aries rising
Virgo sun
Libra moon, venus and mercury

Not sure if this will work, but...

I'm in love! I can only stomach old cottage-y bedrooms for a while, but this sleek design gets me every time! I think I even saw the same futon in a shop window where they sell Japanese furniture (mostly for the bedroom actually). I love those rice paper walls too, they give extra dimension to the room.

OF COURSE this is not representative of every Japanese bedroom, especially when you know that in Tokyo there is just not enough space in an apartment to go all out on a bedroom like that. But anyway, it's minimalistic, but still not entirely.

I think I've heard of that architect before, the church-like building looks familiar, it reminds me of a purist minimalistic house that was showcased years ago. It was said that it was of a Japanese architect but I can't remember his name.

I like minimalism, but to an extent. I think too much minimalism gets boring after a while, my eyes want something to look at too and not just a blank canvas. But it certainly has its charm! Too much decoration is often overkill anyway...
