Lol. RedScorp, we've all been there. I used to like Britney Spears, NSYNC, and Backstreet Boys in '99 and '00 until Korn came out with a new album. I was all about hardrock until I was radio surfing and heard Jimi Hendrix's Hey Joe. It blew my mind and I've been a classic rock freak ever since. Drove my mom crazy one summer because I kept playing Janis Joplin in the car. As you get older your taste evolves. You won't throw away everything. I still love Linkin Park and respect the direction they've gone in because I don't have to be ashamed of listening to a bunch of people damn near 40 singing about how their parents suck.

Moonfish, I like Gaga as well. The woman's voice is amazing and she isn't afraid of what people think. I think she's a new Madonna, especially for kids who know what it's like to bullied and disappointed in love. With that said, back off Madonna fans! I'm not comparing them, just saying she's a new voice.

The only Bjork I listen to is Big Time Sensuality just love that song and can press replay so many times, she is just amazing on that song.

My tastes have changed with the times, although it doesn't hurt to listen to what was played back then. Although it bugs me that at work my Aries boss is still playing M People every single day and even said to her try some Kelis 4th of July and it didn't work. When she is not at work nobody puts the music on!!!

All time favs are
Iio - rapture, Delirium silence, release the pressure - leftfield, touch me in the morning and last thing at night tiesto remix, sandstorm darude, uninvited the tailey burke version, guess anything electronic gets my attention and veering towards dance side.

For calming music I listen to big blue by eric serra. They played some red hot chilli peppers last night californication that's not so bad and i predict a riot - love that song.California knows how to party is a good one too with Dr Dre.

I'm an eclectic listener. Pretty much everything from rock to reggaeton but right now I've been leaning towards 90s Ska and International music. I don't listen to alot of the 'current' music though because quite frankly....it sucks.

*The oldest music I listen to is probably from Diana Ross, The Eagles, and The Beatles. The newest would probably be Coldplay and Jordin Spark's breakthrough album (like I said, 'current' and me don't mix).

Too many to name, but I'll add a few..

Genre of music.. hmm pretty much everything except trance and country. Though I'll still listen to it if the song is good, and something I can relate to regardless of the genre. And yeah I play stuff over and over 'til I'm sick of it, then I'll find new songs to get sick of lol.

Sun: Sagittarius (2nd house)
Mercury: Sagittarius (2nd house)

These are some of the songs I've been listening to for a while and haven't gotten sick of yet.. but we'll see.

Adele - Set Fire To The Rain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlsBObg-1BQ

Eminem - Hellbound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdS4ln9N3vs

The Fray - Look After You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX_l3tj3urs

2pac ft. Outlawz - Last Ones Left http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HpmKlXy8Ls

Eminem ft. Nate Dogg - Till I Collapse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-2wPNkXoMw

Yiruma - A River Flows In You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-4wUfZD6oc

Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE0-_2n1Vh8

Yiruma - Kiss The Rain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wrl8weYTmGU

Fav bands..Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, A Perfect Circle, Deftones.

I tend to like dark, melodic, moody songs. I like some lighter stuff like Incubus and Red Hot Chili Peppers and I even like bluegrass, reggae, and a huuuuuge range of electronic.

The most common thing though is the sound is usually minor chords and has some sort of 'emotional' sound..whatever that means

Capricorn sun (7 deg)
Sagittarius mercury (29 deg)
both in the 2nd house

Favourite genres:

Folk
Classical impressionism (not a big fan of ALL classical styles, although I like quite a few, but this is by far my favourite)
Rythm & Blues
Blues
Jazz
Instrumental traditional... emmm... cultural music?
SOME Trance or Techno (but hardly enough to call it a favourite genre to be honest)

Favourite bands/artists:

Mick Flannery (bet you didn't see that one coming? )
Rory Gallagher
Tom Waits
The Corrs
U2
Lúnasa
Van Morrison
Louis Armstrong
Ella Fitzgerald
Thelonious Monk
Debussy
Muddy Waters
Mary Black
etc...

A song that I can listen to over and over again? Those are plenty, but at the moment there is one song that does come to mind because it pretty much makes me swoon every time I hear it...

Had to find the original on the myspace site because Youtube only has live versions of which the quality isn't even that good. I just love the song, it makes me want to dance to it (don't imagine me going wild, it's a slow song, so slow dancing ) every time!

Edit: forgot my placements AGAIN!!! Gah!

Sun in Scorpio 12th house conjunct Saturn
Mercury in Sagittarius 1st house conjunct ASC, Uranus, opposite Moon, Chiron.

My Sun and Mercury are conjunct in Pisces in the 4th house.

I would say my favourite band is Black Sabbath, though my favourite guitarist I'd call Randy Rhoads, and my favourite song Heart's "Crazy On You".

I mostly listen to metal, starting at the base, Black Sabbath, and progressing into the more obscure. I still have a big problem with noisey metal such as modern Slipknot, or any growling vocals. I like Iron Maiden and Megadeth's Rust In Peace album. Iron Maiden and Megadeth's composition is more deliberate and complex, as if to make it more interesting, but the more obscure it gets the more sterile it seems to me. I get the feeling the philosophy of capitalism serving lazy listeners more than they can process accompanies these more complex compositions. And then Dave Mustaine decides to stick to grating atonal vocals I just don't find musical in the slightest and it turns me off. I like Black Sabbath though. I think many people discount metal because of how musically obscure it has become, but at it's roots I dig it.

I'm trying to learn guitar, though progress towards anything likes of my idols has been slow.

Uh, this is a hard one.
I don't always stick to the same genres. But I have some that I prefer and listen to more often than others.
I love Jazz. I'm especially a fan of the vocalists, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, etc.
Louis Armstrong was my childhood hero. I wanted to play the trumpet just like he did.

Billie Holiday - I'm A Fool To Want You

I also love classical music. From symphonies to operas, I am a little biased towards the Romanticists. Brahms, Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert etc.

Brahms - Symphony No.3 - Poco Allegretto

Chopin - Fantasie Impromptu

Okay, I should stop listing everything.
Finally I just want to add this song from my favourite Album atm.

Janelle Monae - Neon Valley Street

That's all.

oh and my Sun and Mercury are both in Virgo in the 1st house.

Spooky Little Girl Like You cover by Dusty Springfield: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7QzxYAjgNc

the opening scene or the theme from Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ea90L91eZk

I could listen to pretty much any version of Across the Universe for hours but I actually prefer covers of it over The Beatles. Here's Fiona Apple's version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLvhtf09V4g

Europa (Earth's Cry Heaven's Smile) by Santana: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBDLQZgntYE

Consequence of Sounds by Regina Spektor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pladRVXnwOA

It was a tough call between Wandering Star and this one but here's Glory Box by Portishead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF-GvT8Clnk

Plus, you know, a million other songs!
