In any case, I was thinking on the subject of South Node conjunctions to planets. So what I'm wondering is, do planets conjunct the South Node make those planets function almost like a retrograde planet, in that they are blocks that need to be moved past? It seems like, from my experience, that the south node planet REALLY colors the worldview and the focus of the person, to the point where it is difficult for that individual to focus on other areas of life. I personally have a south node conjunction to Neptune. I have a friend who has a south node conjunction to Venus. And the Scorpio I was talking about, who has Pluto combust his Sun in the 8th house- those planets are conjunct his south node. One thing I've noted about all of us, is that those planets conjunct our south node seem to be like anchors. My personality on the whole is very focused on the spiritual and the metaphysical and I tend to get daydreamy and scattered when I am wanting to avoid what's really going on. Now, Neptune is not a terribly strong influence in my chart, but I still notice its effects. It does color my world view, as I believe very much in treating life like a spiritual lesson, and all of this physical, tangible stuff (like amassing a small fortune) is not necessary to focus on. I think what really struck me though, are my two friends, ESPECIALLY the one with the Venus conjunction to his south node. He is VERY good looking and it seems to me that he relies on that as almost a crutch to get through life. My other friend, with the Pluto/Sun/South Node conjunction in Scorpio in the 8th house is like a freaking super Scorpio, but I've noticed that his worldview tends to be more suspicious of others and this causes him to be more dictatorial/manipulative/power grabbing even with the people he cares about. Luckily my Saturn conjuncts his Pluto/Sun/SN so I seem to inherently understand this, and I've actually been able to help him out a bit when it came to smoothing things over with another one of our friends that he upset. What do you all think? What are your experiences with this? Does it seem especially difficult for these people to move towards their North Node potentials???
Great thread

I have Chiron conjunct SNI guess it means I've experienced many pains in my past life to where I'm not as phased by pain anymore? Or does it mean I'm born into this life already with some kind of pain? I'm not sure if I relate to it. IP: Logged |

I have south node conjunct moon almost exact in 5th-6th house depending on the system used. I am very intuitive, witchy, empathic... but I also have moon oppposite neptune mars nn conjunction.. How is your relationship with your mother ? I read somewhere your mother is your karmic burden. This is true for me. Do you want to be a mother ? I am 41 and I've never wanted to be a mother. No, those two are not analagous. quote:

That is a good analogy, because we can feel anchored to what we find most comfortable, natural, or familiar. That is the S. Node. Moving towards those things suggested by the N. Node is spiritually like the difficulty of taking the first step out of the comfy, familiar position, and tests the part of 'natural' that really just means 'used to it.' I finally have what I think is the perfect image to illustrate the principle. I will post it soon on my blog. Bug me about it if I forget or don't post it in LL. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Rising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectification ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |

I have Moon and Venus conjunct my South Node, and they also square Mars. I'm not always sure what to think.I saw something on the first page, about having mastered the psychic realm in a past life. If that's the case, I wonder why it didn't carry through to this one. I used to be extremely psychic, or intuitive, but unexpectedly. I didn't have to work for it, but I also wasn't seeing ghosts, or anything - which was very good news for me, since that would scare the crap out of me. But I feel like I've mostly lost what I had, over the past few years, except for the odd feeling - like when I was afraid that the christmas tree was going to catch fire, and what actually happened was a family member accidentally set fire to something. So it was close, but not exact. I had one clear warning, and didn't pay attention, when I was sixteen - I burst into tears, but then put it out of my mind, thinking it was Henny Penny brain sneaking in there. It turned out to be a real warning, and I still regret not listening to it. I don't know what to think, because I've changed since I was a kid - I was outgoing and confident, and I haven't been that for years, although someone commented on my being so nice and welcoming to them a couple of years ago, even though I didn't know them. The eclipse on them, five years ago, changed my family, and upset everything inside me. I haven't recovered. I'm tired, and might edit this out later - or add to it. I don't know. I'll have to read the thread properly. IP: Logged |

One thing I can say is that I have been taken care of, so far, and I have spent too much time in a comfort zone, but whenever I've tried to leave it, something really messes me up, or my life up, and I'm left just trying to stabilize again. I don't understand it. I have Mars square them, but I've always thought of that as a motivating force - it's the ruler of my Sun, co-ruler of my ascendant, and I think it does help with at least prodding me to do something. I don't see it as a bad aspect, but then I generally see more positive things in most of my aspects, than astrology itself does. IP: Logged |
