Yes, the 8th house is traditionally about death but at the same time, it is about transformation. Like in Tarot, the Death card doesn't mean you will die but may mean you will transform in a way that part of the old you dies in order for the new you to become born. I have Saturn in the 8th and I have heard the "OMG Saturn in the 8th.. you hate sex.... or you are a weirdo sexually... or you will die by sex".
Okay.. not a weirdo sexually, I don't hate sex but I do get turned off easily by stinky things or just the routine jump on / jump off (meaning, I do need to connect). I don't think I will die by sex but if I do, then that doesn't sound like a bad way to go. 
As far as the my experience with one of the "worst" planets in the 8th house... it has served me well. It tampers some of my other aspects and it trines my Sun (Saturn Trine Sun is always a good thing, especially when your Pluto squares your sun and venus LOL..)
Relax.. death will come it will with all of us, but don't let a planetary aspect or other people tell you how, when and why it will happen.
