Like everyone else i was apprehensive about this transit. This transit started in mid december 2010 and is over in September 2011. Here is the story:

In the middle to beginning of December I became interested in my neighbor. I approached him (have not done this to a guy in 10 years).Towards the middle of January we began to date, and in the spirit of saturn opposite venus i did some things that i had never done before. I felt very sober about relationships and wanted things to progress very slowly (I usually feel smitten and take things fast in the beginning (my venus in aries). I thought about the things that I wanted and needed in my life, and I was not going to settle for less. I took my time in getting to know him both physically and emotionally, and when he tried to speed things up, I kept it at a slow pace. It has been a long time since i actually took MY time to get to know someone instead of just rushing into it. It felt very good for both of us for about three to four months (april). At about the four month mark we started to encounter problems because he started to question how he felt about us and he had doubts from the beginning anyways. He wanted to be friends and I said okay. Fast forward three months later (July), we could not stay away from each other, and he proposed us seeing each other again. I felt that he was saying this to keep me from seeing anyone else but did not really and truly want a relationship, and I hinted at the fact that he would "change his mind". Low and behold about three weeks later he did change his mind (August). Some things to note here regarding this relationship:
Myself: I made some changes in how i handled the relationship (i was a great deal more unemotional, cold, calculating and in control that I had ever been(saturn perhaps?), I waited two months to actually sleep with him (8th house effect?), haven't done that since i was oh about 21. I kept my cool during his indecisive moments, strange that's not me, I usually fly off the he handle and get really emotional.
And by the way I am not sure about some of the textbook readings that says less sex and more taxes, but we had the best sex that I've ever had in 36 years.

I will make references in the description from astro.com to show how is transpired in my transit my answers are in CAPS.

Saturn opposition Venus: Adversities
Mid December 2010 until end of September 2011: This influence often signifies a crisis in your personal relationships. Love seems harder to come by, and you may cool off toward those who used to be dear to you. Or they may cool off. (THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT WE WERE HOT AND THEN EITHER HE OR I WOULD COOL OFF) This is a period of testing old relationships to find out whether they can survive and make a contribution to your life (IT WAS A TEST BOTH TIMES SINCE WE WERE ON AND THEN OFF AND THEN ON). It is absolutely essential to reexamine your relationships at this time to determine exactly your rights, duties and obligations and those of your partner. Probably you have been trespassing upon each other's prerogatives, and the tension that this causes has led to your current difficulties.(THIS CONFUSED ME FOR A WHILE BUT I THINK I KNOW WHAT IT MEANS, WE FLIP FLOPPED IN WHAT WE REALLY WERE TO EACH OTHER, BUT STILL TRIED TO CONTROL EACH OTHER'S ACTIONS. One common manifestation of this influence is becoming involved in a relationship that makes very heavy demands on you. Although you would rather not be involved in it, you find it difficult to break out of. All you can do in this case is to persist and do whatever you have to do. If you simply abandon this relationship, you will almost immediately encounter another relationship like it, and another and another until you live one of them through.(THIS IS INTERESTING, HE WAS VERY DEMANDING, CONTROLLING AND CRITICAL, AND I FELT A GREAT PRESSURE TO MAKE SOME MUCH NEEDED CHANGES AT THE BEGINNING, SOME REASONALBE BUT SOME WERE RIDICULOUSLY UNREASONABLE, HE WAS NOT DEMANDING OF MY TIME HOWEVER)
This may also be a time of material and financial adversity. Here again you will have to examine your past attitudes toward material resources and perhaps change your whole orientation toward them. Try getting along with less; you may find that you need less than you had thought. (I DID NOT EXPERIENCE THIS PART OF IT PROBABLY BECAUSE MY PLUTO ON THE 2ND HOUSE IS IN LIBRA AND IS EXALTED THERE)

So I am nearing the end of the transit and I have to say it did manifest itself the way that is described. We ended up cooling off towards each other, the relationship was one-side, me wanting to be with him, a wall exists between us. He did a great deal to challenge my self esteem by telling me that I was too old for him (I am 36 and he is 32), that he could not deal with dating someone with a child (red flag #2) and I thought to myself yesterday " I need to find someone who is willing to accept me for who I am, what I have become, and can accept my situation. Perhaps this is something I will take away from this when transit ends? Who knows, maybe my upcoming saturn opposite chiron will be my revenge? On a positive note however, this transit brought to me some changes in how I handle relationships and showing me that I don't have to always make all of the effort, and by the way I usually am head over heels in love by about the 3rd month, I actually did not say it until the 8th month. Hooray for me! It took me a lot longer to actually fall in love. So now I am on to a saturn opposite chiron transit starting in October, and as usual i can't find any real life experiences to pull from. I think I may list all of my transits in a blog and write in details how they have manifested itself in my life.

I started off this period with the greatest amount of self-confidence I've ever had and by the end of it, it was stripped away completely. By the time the period was over, I felt like my sense of self was shattered.

I had a really hard time finding friends and fitting in. In the end, I didn't feel like I belonged at all and I wondered whether I'd ever find where I belonged long term.

It was like, most my good friends from before were out of the picture, bad ones came back in, and nicer people who were around had things going on too.

My closest friends from before were really busy for the year and I didn't get to keep in touch with them as much as I wanted to. There was also a wolf in sheeps clothing issue too. I gave my so called "friend" a lot of support during a difficult time and she practically spat in my face. While I supported her, I learned a lot about my potential fate, which only made things worse.

With my lovelife, I met someone pretty wonderful. He's more attracted to me than anyone else I've ever met before. We haven't been able to work it out. The transit has thrown some pretty big wrenches into the relationship. Things were moving the way they should have been, and then the transit kicked in and we had an argument. After that, on my account we didn't really talk for a few months and there was a big barrier between us. It took most of the break period from the transit for things to get better between us, and then the transit kicked in again and messed things up again.

The astrology is pretty interesting. It's definitely not a conventional match in terms of sun and moon signs matching. But there are a lot of uncanny traits in both the synastry and composite. Synastry: there's about 12 grand water trines, strong nodal and vertex connections, sign changes (ie he's moon in aries, jupiter in pisces, I'm moon in pisces, jupiter in aries), some of major planets hit each others axises, etc. Basically a few soul-mate markers. Composite: 3 yods, along with some very positive aspects like Sun conjunct venus, moon conjunct jupiter, sun trine jupiter, etc. BUT there's a saturn opposition venus in the composite. So while there's a lot of attraction and love between us, we have to fight against barriers. I don't know if the relationship was more susceptible to saturn square venus because of the saturn opposition venus in the composite, or whether your more likely to become involved in a relationships with barriers during a time like this. All I can tell you is, its been really hard, because he's the exactly the kind of person I'd want to spend the rest of my life with.

for ex: saturn in libra was earlier in the year, opposing my mars.. i met someone who has their natal saturn opposing their sun.. their saturn, happens to also square my mars, though.. so there's the energy from the transit.

the plus side is that i am learning moderation through that person and i am learning how to be more focused and determined.. which is something that i need and want to better build something stable in my life rather than just winging it which might be a very typical mars in aries trait, idk.

during the time that pluto was finishing things off in sagittarius, i was living in the same house with a sun sagittarian and got to see some of that transit play out for them first-hand.

i was involved in somewhat of an affair with a virgo while saturn was moving through virgo..

from my own prior venus/saturn experience, i can say that in regards to the saturn, i felt that i was very over the whole thing - i just didn't care.

there was isolation.

LOTS!!!

there were also wolves in sheep's clothing.

that experience itself, was the conjunction to my venus and thinking back to the time when saturn made the first square (i was too young to remember the opposition) it had to have been in 98 or near 2000.

i'm now looking ahead at my transits and seeing what may come so i decided to take the saturn approach to the whole thing which would be to make sure that i was prepared.

5 years ago, I was supah lonely and really had no one I could call a friend...but then things started to look up! One person "found" me, you could say, and it really just soared from there...

Also, sidenote about Saturn transits: it's currently on my AC. Lately I've been feeling much more reserved and definitely not as outgoing as I used to be...could that be the reason why?

There's a problem there, however, as Saturn is kinda slow-mo and it's only been in the past...6-ish months? That I've been feeling this restriction on my Libra...

i considered that.

there have been times that i felt downright amazing and all of that was reflected back to me and i was swapping em off with a venus flytrap and even then i'd get the results of something FABULOUS!!!

my venus is doing perfectly fine right now.

when i experienced the conjunction, like redscorp, was when it went into leo but RIGHT at the beginning.

the good thing about that is that my appearance changed and though i might've been alone, i certainly was getting thumbs up left and right for my looking good.

I did not address the loneliness aspect. While i was not lonely because we were seeing each, i did have tremendous issues with forming new friendships and a barrier in the friendship aspect. My existing friendships were intact, however, i felt like i just wanted to be at home and had no desire to leave the house or no interest in making friends. I wanted to spend all of my time in the house, so in that regard i was lonely. I did not even want to make the effort to go to places and intereact with people. Now that the transit is nearing its end, i feel life this veil has been lifted, and i even went to the ymca today to volunteer which i am extremely excited about. Before the thought would have been a burden. I hope this helps. In the saturn square/opposite venus transit i guess it brings on/off relationships into your life.

someone i'm or was interested in had their venus opposed while saturn was around 10 libra.. so i guess it would be good perspective for the thread to hear the other side of the story.

the person and i met and it was lovely.
i was taken by them completely!

we planned to see each other again
i contacted them and asked when
they told me that they'd let me know
.. i pressed and pressed til i got fed up and just blocked them and they then deleted their profile almost immediately after.

they made another one later and i saw them stalking me.

we started talking again
we chatted on the phone and i was met halfway
because i wanted conversation
they wanted sex
i did too
but not unless we had something written in stone
..same thing happened

the person really did about the shadiest thing and purposely said the "i'll call you", bit.. i knew they weren't going to so it's a good thing i did my own thing but they never did.. deleted their profile again.

i was over it.
didn't care.

then i found their blog.
kept in touch one sided through there.

i stopped.
did my own thing.

chances have it,
somehow,
someway
i write a random pictureless profile and there they are.

i was given clues that let me know it was them
but even now, they won't reveal themselves

everything was good, they were happy and not as depressed and hard to get through as before because yes, they were very in the dumps and not being the most of happy people.

then, their car broke down unexpectedly..

so they then again detach
..i asked if everything was ok,
they let me know their connection would go and return

few days pass,
nothing...

i pretty much just sent a message affirming that i wouldn't hear from them again so, whatever.

the whole thing, really, it's just fuc*king annoying.

and stupid.

it's like trying to write a note to someone in in-school suspension.. once the year is over and school is out, did any of that even matter? was any of it real?

NO.

so, whatever.. throughout this whole ordeal, if not even the communication could've been something that they committed to working on, no matter where they were (sidenote: i never did demand their time i did demand some sort of loyalty though.) --if they couldn't work on the communication, they've basically gone and destroyed just about all trust we could've had..

we could've had it all

and now, i'm experiencing the neptune side of it because my neptune squared their venus.. i feel like they were just the biggest disappointment around for just being so stupid.

so i'm over it.

ugh..... well, as transits have it, this person and i have been doing this thing for almost 3 months nearing the end of october.

don't know if that's the magic number but the transit should be more or less, over..

the third time a planet does it's retrograde thing where it finally goes back to being direct, i read that usually that planet brings a gift or then reveals a lesson.. i think saturn is well over and done with the first half of libra so it oughta stay in the later degrees for the rest of 11' til the end of 2012 when it'll move into scorpio and then, that's when it'll make a square to my moon and venus so i guess even if that person and i were to end up together, that transit will be revealing... just as saturn'll move into their twelfth house, btw...

--oh! because i found their birthtime! (for anyone who read that other thread) they have a VERY late scorpio rising! we pretty much have opposite charts except that my rising is mid sign that opposes his.

i don't know what to think and i'll await your reply because just as i blew em off yesterday, they wrote me today a very normal message not really acknowledging what i wrote to them but they did contact.. i replied and told em i was so mad at them and asked where the f they've been.... they told me they've been down and when i asked them to talk about it, they wouldn't.

i would like to help this person, but it seems as if they're bent on just shutting down. not much i can do about that so i'm working out the kinks and separating my feelings of what feels like to be rejection/being slighted, to knowing that it's not me and they're just going through their sh5t.

i haven't heard back yet from my last 3 sent messages to them. i don't even know for sure if it's them, btw but just from our communication, they've dropped clues about their house and stuff like that that basically gave em away, so i'm taking it for what it is... i don't know if this is the HEALTHY way of venus playing out in someone's twelfth house (their venus in my twelfth) but my neptune is just going along with it but i don't know for how long.
