Sun opposite or square Saturn. I know at least 3 close people in my life who have this aspect and they have had "incredible lives". Its not only my perception, they admit a life of testing times. Any hard affliction with Saturn and Mars, Uranus or Pluto makes me uneasy. Saturn in the first is not that bad. I think Britney Spears has it in her 1st house. She's had a good life than most people in this world. Saturn in the 12th- not that dreadful. Google all the celebrities that have this. I read Saturn is comfortable in the 12th. Imo, Saturn in houses and signs is too general and not good enough to determine whether or not its good or bad, aspects and the things in between are the real deal.

I love my Saturn in 5th. It is definitely not true that it's not easy to have fun with it, I actually never find myself bored with nothing to do. It's true though that I'm awkward around children, but that doesn't bother me much since I barely ever have to interact with them.
The best part of 5th house Saturn for me is that I feel like my love relationships are much more "high quality" than those of my friends without it. I never find myself caught in relationships I later regret, nor ever date anyone I don't really like and then get myself into these awkward situations (my friends seem to have so many more problems with relationships that just never happen to me). Saturn makes me take things seriously so that I never get caught in humiliating situations. I think a side effect of it though is that I like people much older than me. (But I really don't mind that either and would never change it )

Other than that, I really hate Saturn. I've had it transiting my 12th house for the past 2 or so years (disturbing time period), and now it's going to retrograde over my tsquare and ascendant until October 2012. I heard people suicide when these things happen, not surprised -___- Life is difficult now.

Can you tell I really hate Saturn?

I have it in house 12 too, in the middle. But for some reason, I was euphoric through my Saturn return. My NN is in there too and at the time I was completely oblivious to spiritual subjects and totally into my 6th house Vertex, so you'd think Saturn would have smacked me upon his return for not tending to my NN stuff. Or for not tending to bedpans, or whatever else 12th House is about.

It was when he hit my ascendant that I came crashing down. Life was so mundane and bleak and uninspiring.

Throughout his transit thru my 1st, I felt like everything was so stupid and pointless and hopelessly puerile. If I bothered to go to a therapist they would probably have diagnosed me with clinical depression.

My sister was totally not her usual Leo rising self when Saturn transited her 1st. She was bedridden and depressed. Jumped back to shining in the limelight once he moved into her 2nd.

So my vote goes to 1st House for the worst Saturn placement. Extra points for conjunction with the Ascendant!!

But I bet folks with that placement have awesome cheekbones (Saturn = gaunt) to make up for all that bleakness.

Yeah it is, isn't it. Well I don't mind the no kids aspect of it. For that I'm actually grateful. I think it'd be worse to have it in the seventh.

I think this is an older post but I thought I'd chime in about my Saturn in the 3rd placement. it's about 4 degrees away from my IC so personally, I feel it in both houses.

I am primarily Mercury/Pluto driven. My Mercury is in Gemini conjunct my Gemini Ascendant and both are trine Pluto in the 5th.

So basically, communication is not something I find difficult for the most part. I think having Saturn in my 3rd house makes communication even more important for me and I agree with the other posters who said that small talk can be tedious. Because of my Gem Ascendant and mercury I can small talk with the best of them but I either prefer witty, clever banter or serious profound discussions. Small talk makes me bored, even though I'm good at it.

My 3rd house is in Cancer and therefore Moon-ruled so although I can be very serious I can equally switch between being incredibly emotive or reserved depending on what kind of conversation it is.

8th. I don't have this placement, btw. But anyways, having it in the 8th seems to indicate lack of inheritances and a lousy sex life.

Saturn in the 4th.You don't want Saturn in the house of the 'home'.There are usually a lot of burdens/hardships in the childhood and home life.It could be there was a loss of a parent,or just that the parent was emotionally unavailable. There is some kind of restriction there, emotional deprivation, just a feeling of coldness and loneliness in the home. The kid has to grow up too soon, there is usually a feeling of abandonment and the person feels like they are on their own, like they have to raise themselves. It's a tough cold position.Marilyn Monroe,Madonna, and Judy Garland are some that have this.Certainly they didn't have a case of the 'warm fuzzies' in their childhood.
I have this. Now that I look back on it,there was just a lot lacking there.I can see the difference between my family and others.Other kids parents were really involved with them and what they were doing at all times---the kid with Saturn in the 4th comes home to an empty house a lot of the time.I think it's called being a 'latchkey kid'.
Saturn in the 4th brings a feeling of melancholy and harshness into the home and growing up years and that lingering feeling of sadness and loneliness can last a long time.Look at the life of Marilyn Monroe--that tough early life really cast a long shadow---
So you don't want Saturn in the 4th house!!
Although there are a few positives. The person usually matures early,is independent, and can handle a lot of responsibility, and is usually pretty solid and reliable. With Saturn in Capricorn at least.Saturn in Capricorn has some tough lessons but it makes for a pretty serious person,if that is a good thing---I actually like having Saturn in Capricorn, does anyone else have it??

But I'm still awkward with children though I seem to be a kid magnet LOL I'd like kids someday but then I think about things like losing my freedom; that the current world we live in can be such a horrible place, I don't want to put another life through all the mess around us; want to be old enough emotionally to be able to protect my kids and financially have the salary of a CEO to provide for them LMFAO ...it makes me think critically about 5th house matters and always have a stupid serious guilt inducing outlook. But overall, I don't blame saturn, don't think its the worst placement really...younger/teen years/even now in my 20s sometimes I feel miserable, I dont drink so co-workers find me weird & stiff (I'm so not!) my idea of fun is different. I rather eat out at fancy places than get wasted at clubs :P

I can relate to this. I have Saturn (R) in 5th house, Virgo. Didn't like to party as a teenager. I've loosen up now, I can mingle and have fun at partys even though it's not what I'd prefer to do on a Friday night. I too enjoy a nice restaurant in good company more than getting wasted in a club I love to go out and dance though, but you don't have to talk to strangers when you're dancing either lol

I can vouch for Saturn in 5th house.
It indeed postponed having children until ( my late thirties (I had history of miscarriages)
Moreover, I had very dramatic pregnancy and near fatal delivery - internal bleeding. I doubt I can have any more children. Well doctors say "Well technically you can but we would strongly advise not to, due to your previous delivery) But I am blessed I have my little one.
However, Saturn in 5th DOES NOT deny children it just merely postpone having one.
it is a possibility of having some complications during pregnancy and delivery.
However, I am not sure the delivery complications are directly related to Saturn. I am Scorpio Asc and my LO is Scorpio sun so it might related to that.

In addition, My Transit Jupiter was in my 5th house ( Conj my Natal Saturn) during pregnancy and delivery and it definitely HELPED me to carry the pregnancy
full term and despite numerous complications My daughter is vibrant healthy girl and I am fully recovered!

I've read that moon square Uranus can also make a person reluctant to have children.

I have Saturn in the 3rd and it is VERY trying at times. I am extremely prone to depression and gloominess with this placement, especially with Saturn square the ASC.

But at the same time, H3 Saturn has benefited me, I have to admit. I have it trine Mercury in Scorpio in H11, which I believe has allowed me to pore intensely over subjects that interest me and have a very excellent memory and deep thinking. I am the opposite of superficial, and take certain things very seriously, which has actually helped me in my life and not made me a 'stick in the mud' type at all. Being surrounded by irrational people my entire life, I often had to look out for myself. I think some Earth in my Mercury really helped me a lot.

...So I give my usually sucky Saturn credit for that. I just wish it would stop making me so lacking in confidence over my intelligence!!!
