Other signs will put in a lot of time at the gym but seems to be a means to an end....like, they need to tone up for an event. But Virgo makes for perfectionism and Libra lives for aesthetics, so when you combine the two, you get someone for whom a perfect body is an end more than a means.

Also, Saturn in Virgo has body image issues. My father has Virgo Saturn on my ascendant and this resulted in him harping on about my (non-existent) weight problem when I was a teenager.

My Moon is in Libra, a 7th house stellium, Venus conjunct the DC and trine MC and I have Saturn in Virgo conjunct NN trine Chiron in Taurus. I am health and fitness conscious. Okay, fine, a tad obsessed - but in a good way. Two out of my three 1/2 degrees are in health related subjects (Health Sciences with emphasis in nutrition and Health and Psychology). I even have a certification in athletic coaching! I was studying to get my NCSF personal training certification but I just stopped one day. My goal was/is to help young women with body image issues learn to love their bodies and to get as healthy as they can without getting carried away or dieting and while working with their natural shapes and body types.

I used to struggle with body image issues but I think after my Saturn Return I learned to just be healthy and get over it. I actually started my studies in health when Saturn was going through my 6th house and I got in the best shape of my life then! I never was a size 6, wasn't meant to be, but I can still be healthy. I am 5’10” and a fit size 14, I love my hourglass! I have my morning protein/fiber smoothies, take a few daily vitamins and supplements and I walk every other day and take a class a couple times a month. I do buy trendy fitness equipment, not big stuff, just like “The Shake Weight”, lol. I do care but I am not as obsessed as I was when I was in my teens/early 20s. I remember once in high school I ate a piece of cake at a party and someone took a picture because they couldn’t believe I was eating something so fatty! Yeah, I am totally over that!

I am always well put together also, it is very important to me. I pride myself on having good posture, I even took a class on it - something that is taken for granted nowadays! My closets are packed with clothes and shoes. I have stuff that I bought 2-3 years ago with the tags still on it. I have to use Space Bags and change clothes out for the season (I have sucky closet space)! I have a classic, mostly preppy yet slightly romantic and sometimes sexy style (if that makes sense), not a bunch of trendy stuff.

I have five to six different shampoos and conditioners, just lots and lots of health and beauty stuff. I blame that on a shopping addiction though (Sun in Leo/Moon in Libra) and the fact that I didn’t have much growing up (Chiron conjunct IC), so I tend to overcompensate.

Funny thing is, I am very natural looking (although I do have the big pageant hair sometimes, I can’t help it as a Leo). Around town, food shopping or just walking, I am usually wearing yoga pants, tank top or a band tee and a jacket if it is cold – they just happen to be nice and didn’t come out of the hamper. My hair is usually in an octopus clip. I don’t get fake nails. I am African-American and my hair is fairly long and real and I don’t get it relaxed (I blow it out though). I wear make-up but don’t need much, I don’t even pluck my eyebrows (except for a stray here and there). Plus I am not too fussy, I will get on the floor to play games with and teach children and heaven forbid there is a dog on the floor, I will roll with it no matter what I am wearing! Even when I am doing that I still manage to look “put together”. I just know what to wear and when (Libra influence).

I just think that looking good (well put together and not sloppy) and feeling good (with eating healthy and doing whatever type of exercise you want to do) is important.

I actually have four planets in Libra (Moon conjunct Pluto; Jupiter conjunct Saturn) along with Venus in Virgo, and Venus trine Chiron.

I never, ever, everrrrrr, work out. I never go on diets either and pretty much eat whatever I want - I've never had obsessions or hangups about my body in any way shape or form - the whole stereotype of the woman who hates her body, has always been a really foreign concept to me; I've just never really cared that much or been THAT preoccupied with the external. I don't try to be fashionable either; in fact a lot of times people crack on me for the stuff I wear and how I look; and I've had people lecture me about me appearance too - "You should have more PRIDE in your appearance!" type stuff, but honestly my personal preference is really casual, baggy, comfortable stuff.

And just because you are the exception doesn't mean there isn't truth to what I've observed. Example: See downtomars' post.

Dominant Leo? I have no idea. I'm a Libra with Venus in Leo and I'm a classically vain individual but I don't do much to keep myself especially coiffed besides the basics. Minimal make up etc. I'm in love with myself, but I don't spend time primping myself maybe because having Moon in Aries gives me no patience. If it can't be done in 5 minutes I don't want to do it.

I work out not to look good, but because I've got Mars in Aries and I like to stay physical. I love jogging for it's own sake, why do it for any other reason.

I've had many Virgo friends who have suffered from eating disorders and are OCD about how the look physically. They carry floss, breath mints, hair spray, the works. They tend to always be doing something to improve how they look and are always on diets. They are very body conscious.

My mom is a Cap with a Cap rising and she was and is always well put together. She did give me a bit of a complex growing up as well. She didn't really understand my body because she is a 5'5" size 8-10 lady with a naturally athletic build. I really had to find my own way. Mom has Venus square Chiron also...

The Scorpio/Aqua bunch.. try to completely shun convention - sooner or later.. The girls stop shaving. The men... well - ya - actually - they also stop shaving, amongst other things

I definitely think you are on to something with the sun in libra and virgo in venus and the venus/saturn thing.

And lonake is also onto something with the pluto/venus thing.
