quote: BelligerentPygmy: there's something cool about dating someone from your own generation, who grew up in a similar era, exposed to the same pop culture and sensibilities. Whenever I got mixed up with guys older than me on some level it never felt like a good fit, no matter how eternally-young they thought they were, it always felt like there was an imbalance and like on a very fundamental level they would never understand me and I would never understand them.
AGREED! Being with someone of a similar age is like heavenly harmony especially with those outer planet aspects. We can twist ourselves whatever way we want too in relationships but you honestly can't help feeling comfortable around people your own age. It's a level of natural harmony that's hard to match with people of drastically different age groups. I accept and choose to be friends with all people but after having experienced dating people younger and older I'd prefer also men my age. It just works, there's no other way to say it.

Sign me up as #3 to that list! Yup! Had one who was younger, and one who was older. There's just something about the whole *vibe* that's off. Something feels out of alignment. There is a real comfort to being with someone who has the same cultural touchstones that you do, as well as being at the same place in your lives. There's a lot to be said for it. Anyway, I know the older guy I was with was purely a t.Saturn 7th house thing. Met him when Saturn was *exactly* on top of my DSC. That had to have been the culprit. Never dated anyone older ever again, and never wanted to.

Easily the Moon conj Saturn.

Not uncommon, many older men find younger women more physically/sexually appealing.

I really prefer much older partners. I'm not rigid in that sense, I've dated people my own age, but the preference is really there. I blame mostly these: Saturn in 5th (serious about relationships) Sun in 8th Venus in 9th (romance is associated with learning new things) Partner's intelligence is crucial for attraction (Sun and Mercury and Eros in Gemini). maybe I should mention Mars square Uranus Mars square Neptune but I don't think those matter much here, they have mostly sexual manifestations once I already have a partner. Older men are more attractive because they are more mature, generally more educated, and more successful. My attraction has to do with Saturn. In my chart, Saturn trines Venus. Older men are intriguing to me because of life experience. More experiences = more knowledge. Overall, older men are smarter and have more substance. Not that there aren't very intelligent younger men. It's just the lack of life experience makes some young men less mature and with less substance. Also, in my chart Venus is in the 9th house. This shows a love of knowledge and culture. Older men tend to be more cultured. However, I tend to be distrustful of older men that want to date younger women. I have known many women that have had their husbands of many years leave them for a younger woman. A lot of older men are already married. It's nice to believe that the man I am falling in love with, loves my soul, and not my youth. Men can sometimes be ruled by their Mars-ruled egos. It is also nice to know the man I love will not leave me when I get old and my looks begin to fade. Not that all older men will do this. I have just witness it happen to many women, unfortunately. I have Saturn conjunct DSC in the 7th and square Venus (with Venus in the 10th and the ruler of my Venus is in Cap) and older guys aren't really my thing. I wouldn't rule it out but I much prefer guys my age and for some reason I like guys who look younger.IP: Logged |

My ex husband was 2 years younger than me, he had sun conjunct venus in Aquarius, I had a boyfriend 9 years younger with sun conjunct venus in Taurus, I was pursued by a very persistent, almost aggressive pursuer 5 years younger with sun conjunct venus in Cap, and my current partner is 4 years younger with sun conjunct venus in Aries. Thinking there's a pattern there.IP: Logged |

^ You have both of your male significators in Venus-ruled signs: Sun Libra, Mars Taurus. To me that easily shows affinity with men who would have prominent Venus (conj their Sun, Moon or Asc). Another factor is that men w.Sun conj Venus can be considered as having commonality with Venus in Leo, and you have the Moon in that sign. I would guess that when you partner with men with that conjunction you two have in common: a strong sense of dignity, personal pride, graciousness, love of beauty, a charming manner, willingness to compromise. You see these traits in them, they see them in you, and in the beginning (at least) it creates a draw. Later on the positives might be turned on their head, where you or he see the other as indulgent, lazy, vain, pompous, etc.IP: Logged |

So does the fact that they are younger have any relevance? Like do Sun conjunct Venus types usually prefer an older partner? Or is it just coincidence in this case?IP: Logged |

No, the Sun/Venus wouldn't equate to a more youthful partner. Your Mars in the 3rd could point to that. You have Mercury ruling the DSC, that is another factor for it. Gem/Merc are both factors for youthful partners, so is Aquarius/Uranus, and so is Capricorn/Saturn actually. Capricorn can be relevant on both ends of the spectrum, younger and older choices for partners.IP: Logged |
