Capricorns r not concerned with class; they believe in work and respect the aquired. In that sense they take much if not all pride of things they create as opposed to the given that 'class' implies . This is not to be confused with reputation, which naturally,Cappies cherish. I have to say,Leos do make dominant number when class matters concerned. Basically, there r two types of Leos, those who know nobility is of innate kind (attitude, personality)and those who only see titles. Those who see titles often indentify class with being well-off. Leos r glitteratti Both signs r proud, lead and try to provide diginifed exsistence, both morally and economically. There is this notion that personal planets in H10 tend to be social climbers, and therefore be aware of class standings, but,in my experience, isn't quite true. H10 Moon, for example, crave for emotional satisfaction and acceptance from masses, very much into 'how do they perceive me',but it is about connection, not class. IP: Logged |

My moon is in Taurus and I'm concerned about class. Progressively, all my Aries planets turn to Taurus when I was about 13 which explains a lot. When it comes to people I don't know I certainly don't judge them if they're rich or poor. As a Taurus moon and Progressed Taurus, I'm mainly concerned about how much class they have in their character. If they're poised, refined, well-groomed, and polite. Keeping up with the jones' has always irked me about Capricorns. I understand competition 'cause I'm an Aries, but I also accept there's always going to be someone who's bigger, better, and badder than me. Capricorns don't seem to understand that and always have to be equal with those BBB people. I've always thought of Capricorns as insecure for that reason. IP: Logged |

As downtomars pointed out (beautiful and inspiring story, by the way!), this doesn't have to be a bad thing, just like Libra's love of beauty doesn't have to be a bad thing. Pride doesn't have to be a bad thing if it motivates you to do well, take care of yourself and your responsibilities, to have good manners, etc. Pride is neutral. It's how a person uses it that makes it good or bad, as well as how far a person takes it.
Thank you RegardesPlatero. This is excellent and sums up what I have seen/lived/experienced also, it is all a matter of degrees. IP: Logged |

Because I look at always having to be the best as a sign you aren't content with what you already have, I mean in the material sense. For instance if you have a Blackberry that works just fine, why do you need an iPhone? But Capricorns get the iPhone 'cause it's the latest in style and they often will think people notice if they DON'T have the iPhone when in reality nobody cares. Maybe it's a crappy example but I think it explains what I mean by 'insecurity'. IP: Logged |

How can not settling for less be a sign of insecurity? (This is ur original thesis) Being content doesn't entail happiness,if u aspire for more it doesn't mean u r unhappy or insecure. There will be always ppl who r bigger, better, faster? What kind of idea is that?! U may say as well 'don't wanna live good,I am going to die anyway'.It is about moving, progress, that's life! Just because majority can't participate, cuz heights r not for everybody,we shouldn't celebrate mediocre notions.IP: Logged |

I think the goal is like a mountain for Capricorn.. and it is often a very specific goal. Once they attain it (once they climb to the top of that particular mountain) - they are happy with it. But there are always other mountains left to climb. Like the other cardinals, they need challenges in life. If they simply relaxed and did nothing, they'd get bored. I don't think it's a weakness or a strength... It depends on how you look at it and their reasons for it. X could slap someone out of spite, which would be nasty... or.. X could slap someone because the person is about to collapse - and they are trying to wake them up (which wouldn't be nasty at all). But perhaps an onlooker could get confused.. and think the latter situation was 'abuse' - if they don't know the background story IMO It's not so much the actions people take in life... that define them... but rather their reasons to take particular actions.. And sometimes (often!) these reasons are private to the person. Onlookers are not always right in their assessment. IP: Logged |

I'm not saying someone who has a blackberry and wants an iPhone out of their own accord is insecure. I'm talking about those who have a need to keep up with the jones' for appearances' sake; they are insecure. Going back to my example, a Blackberry isn't mediocre. It's the same as an iPhone and completes the same thing, so once again we're back to square one. For most of the Capricorns I've dealt with, except one, they were condescending and pretentious. Some of them kept up with the jones', others didn't but still showed signs of insecurity. Being materialistic like that isn't the ONLY reason I think Capricorns can be immature at times. Actually scratch "just Capricorns" because being rude in general is a sign of immaturity. And even though it should be assumed, I know not ALL Capricorns are immature or materialistic or insecure. My father is a Pisces with Cap rising and Saturn in critical 29th degree. He has a 2nd House stellim of Sun, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and NN. He is the classic pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps, rags-to-riches, protagonist straight off the pages of a Horatio Alger novel, Capricornian character. He is also the most class-conscious person ever. P.S. Horatio Alger was a Cap! Surprise, surprise? IP: Logged |
