inspired by another thread i saw...the thread was talking about pluto ascendent aspects.
the thread mentioned the characteristics of people that have it. (personality characteristics) but do planets to the ascendent really have a significant enough influence on our personality or is that just how we appear to others (personality traits that it seems we have, but don't nessesarly, it just looks like we do) thoughts? If a planet aspects your ascendent it definitely has a huge influence in your personality. I have Jupiter conjunct ascendent and when I interact with others I seem bubbly, light and optimistic and also have Uranus conjunct ascendent and I like to dress unique and talk about controversial topics socially that make people think.my friend has sun in the first and ascendent square mars and when he is out and about he is impatient, wants everything to happen fast and move along quickly and gets frustrated easily if it doesn't. I think planets that make hard aspects (conjunction, opposition, square) to the ASC augment the appearance/personality, definitely.I have Saturn and Uranus opposite ASC, and I can be pretty stern/cold while also seeming like a "weirdo" I guess. I also have Venus square ASC and I'm never satisfied with the way I look, which makes me a bit insecure. IP: Logged |

Rising is pivotal element in one's chart,so naturally planet on Asc would be of similar influence. Sometimes it can shift Asc in completely different direction,imagine like Saturn on Water Asc. Planet on Asc is a definitive colouring,for example actor with Pluto Asc even when playing goofy characters will still be 'heavy'. quote:

Not sure if it effects my personality per se....definitely perceived personality and how others see me, for sure. I think I have a square...I forget, lol. But, adds a bit of mystery or uncertainty regarding 'what I'm all about.' But, I'm also a plutonian..so...lol.IP: Logged |

It could easily be Sat oppo Asc.
Venus in H10 in addition to Asc,could be sth like two-faced feminity. Two girls in one,which could be tricky,when ppl don't know how to approach u,or what to think,in general. IP: Logged |

I've got Uranus conjunct my ASC and I definitely have an affinity for obnoxious, bright colors. I'm not walking around wearing ridiculous costumes like Lady Gaga, but I will absolutely rock a day-glo lime green polo shirt.  I also have Moon square ASC -- what qualities would that bring to appearance? IP: Logged |

I don't have anything conjunct my Asc, but I do have Libra Moon in the 1st. I'm fairly open about my emotions. They're very close to the surface. If I'm angry, you know it. If you made me angry, you definitely know it. If I'm happy, everyone benefits. I don't think it influences who I am, but the energy of that placement is more apparent to others. Well,if u say u r Plutonian,it affects ur personality per se,obviously.Asc is THE point of materialisation,and,of course it will condition how ppl perceive us up to a certain degree,but interpreting Asc from outside in is just wrong. quote:

Maybe it would make u more familiar,both physically and personality-wise,than ut Uranus rising would allow. Ut eccentricities could be endearing. 'He may be an alien,but I feel as if we know each other for ages.' U could be more considerate than regular Uranus Rising.

I don't always dress like this but it was my 28th birthdate and I wanted to express myself LOL:
Ascendent conjunct Uranus
Ascendent conjunct Jupiter
 Oh and also my appearance changes a lot over the years. Perhaps that has to do with uranus conjunct ascendent. I get bored and want to color my hair..have colored my hair so many different colors. Would love to get some blue highlights or something. I like to experiment with my look but not all the time as I do have uranus in the 12th so I dont show this side of me every day! more like every now and then. IP: Logged |

Hubby has moon in the first and he is super cuteeee...It gives him an innocent come pamper me look when he is in a good mood. Is soo cute. I love how transparent this placement makes someone and how genuine it makes someone. IP: Logged |

Ascendent trine plutoI don't know, even though I am a full-blown aquarius (sun and mercury), i really do feel an equal affinity with pisces. I understad Pisces in a way that I really feel like i'm 1/3 pisces, 1/3 aquarius and 1/3 everything else with a prominant sagittarius influence. I changed my hair color all the time when I was a teenager. (As much as I could get away with in Catholic school, anyway.) And then all my hair fell out. *shakes fist at universe*

I tried relaxing my hair once and all my hair felt out LOL like spaghetti no joke ......it was not a good experience since I wasn't planning it, it felt like someone broke up with me. I ended up getting the following hair cut:  This was probably about 4.6 years ago at the beginning of my relationship with hubby. This hair cut was probably about two months after the incident when some new hair had grown. IP: Logged |

 This is me when I was a wee little one. You'd think I was just another harmless Moon child... little did you know that I would be the little monster who could unscrew her whole playpen with her wee little fingers .

idk...
i have the pluto square asc aspecti think i def come of as plutonian, and give off a bit of a pluto aura, but one you start talking to me, anyone will see i'm the futhest thing from pluto......
i don't like it, because i always feel like i let people down
fake, etc
like the people that pick up on this pluto influence, and are attracted to it...
once they see it's not really in me, the attraction is gone.... in what ways other than outward appearances does the asc affect your personality IP: Logged |
