It was 1989; I was 14 at that time, and had been reading one of these yearly horoscopes in a magazine, but with a personality profile. Sagittarius just did not seem to fit my personality or how I saw myself AT ALL. I identified much more with Pisces at that time. This got me intrigued and I started doing more research. Well, many years later today I am of course aware that first of all I DO have some Sag traits after all. And secondly, my chartruler is in Pisces, squaring Neptune, which sits on the ASC.
So in my case it was not so much a love interest that brought me to astrology, but the fact that it did not seem to "fit", I do not really know why I was so certain that it SHOULD work though. lol A few months later I stumbled over a book by Linda Goodman, and a bit later I discovered that my neighbours posessed "Sunsigns", and everytime I was babysitting I was spending most of the time reading in it (while the kids were asleep). A treasure box.
I also loved the books by Stephen Arroyo.
And Michael Roscher made me understand the houses. IP: Logged |

It's interesting how you decided to look into astrology bc your sun sign wasn't ringing any bells. I always felt that the generic descriptions of Virgo weren't that accurate for me, so I was always like 'how can people born in the same month ALL have the same personality? That's impossible' not to mention the horoscopes in magazines are lame! So that didn't help things lol. That was the reason I never got into astrology before.

Mintgirl,"That was the reason I never got into astrology before." That is a logical conclusion; I honestly have no idea why I didn`t just shrug my shoulders thinking astrology was a pile of nunsense and done some other things, instead of really diving into astrology and trying to understand its mechanisms. I do not know why I always "knew" that it works, and that I was simply too shortsighted to understand it. But it was a weird year anyway, on the 12th january 1989 I was having the strangest dream, which ended in an explosion of a blue-green planet far outside earth, which I identified as Neptune. In the building up to this explosion a blonde guy, a stranger, played a pivotal role in that dream of mine. I haven`t thought of that dream for a long time, but was really crept out when I spotted the exact guy from my dream on my TV screen last year. 21 years after that dream. What a weird coincidence. When I was between 7 and 12 years old, my father was very curious about astrology and brought me for readings with vedic astrologers, palmists, Buddhist fortune tellers, Chinese fortune tellers, etc. The stuff they spouted was kind of uniform, and the positive stuff was highly correlated to the amount of money my father stuffed into their pockets.Being the corrupt and materialistic Chinese that I fundamentally am, I became intrigued with the following: - YOU WILL BE RICH - YOUR WIFE WILL MAKE YOU RICH - YOUR FAMILY WILL MAKE YOU RICH - YOU WILL BE KNOWN WORLDWIDE - YOU WILL BE VERY ATTRACTIVE TO WOMEN - YOU WILL HAVE MANY WIVES - YOU WILL BE VERY HEALTHY (lots of sex?) From then on, I checked the horoscope in the sunday newspapers to find out when my billionaire wife and 100 mistresses would arrive. And when I would become a top rock star and Hollywood actor. Alas, none of that has happenned. I don't know. Astrology is forbidden by my religion, and I'm still coming to grasp with it. I'm still a skeptic, but I'm learning IP: Logged |

To be honest, I thought he was. But our relationship is too much pain for me to even begin. IP: Logged |

I have no recollection of what twigged it but it all started 2 and one half years ago in a place not so far away but just far enough away to make it more interesting. 6-7 years prior to my sudden interest in astrology I remember my Sister doing her Natal chart and synastry chart with her then boyfriend at the time. I remember being a little curious about what she was doing as she drew it all up by hand but I didn't pay that much attention. Fast forward 7 years and i'm in my 2nd year of Uni and here comes the part I forget. Something happened and I thought, hmm i'll look at my natal chart. I input my details into cafeastrology, then poked around astro and several other natal chart producing sites to compare everything. I found the astrology (horoscopes) section on yahoo answers and spent a lot of time there reading and learning as well as searching every aspect and placement under the sun. In one of the yahoo posts was a link to the Astrology forum, not Astrology 2.0 so I trawled through that forum before trawling through others and here I am now. I wish I could remember what it was that sparked me to think about doing my own natal chart I will probably put it down to the same reason others have, love or in my case attraction to women.------------------ Learn lots. Don't judge. Laugh for no reason. Be nice. Seek Happiness. Follow your dreams. IP: Logged |

But I've had this too and I don't believe it was a twin soul though. Twin soul meetings are friggen rare. It's not something that drops out of the sky lol. This psychic told me I'll be meeting my twin soul in my 50's lol she wasn't a fake either, was a genuinely gifted one. Said it'll be online. I'm not exactly holding my breath. IP: Logged |

Was interested from maybe 8 or so, since I was on the cusp and my family kept calling me an Aquarius and I knew that they were wrong, I could just feel it I looked into Sun Signs, Linda Goodman, etc. But after mom died I felt a need to put LIFE into a certain framework. I knew that something else was in operation, something no one in my church had told me, and I wanted to get a handle on it, just to help me understand, I needed it to keep going. I knew the answers were out there, so turned to studying other spiritual disciplines (Neptune Sagittarius ruling my Sun), and that's also when I began to take a deeper interest in astrology. It was hard to get a handle on it, often felt v.overwhelmed by all of the information, but I just stuck with it. I ended up learning about a subject that seemed like it would never bottom out & would always hold my interest. Transit-wise at that time, ---t.Uranus/Neptune (both natally in Sadge in 5th of hobbies) in late Capricorn was going over n.Moon/Venus, 6th, which I interpret now as occult subjects/widening world view becoming necessary for my day-to-day well-being. (Aside from the fact that t.Uranus instigated one hell of a change as a precursor..it was also sq. n.Mars/Saturn/Pluto/IC when she died, so my foundation was officially ROCKED and I wanted answers, if I didn't find anything as a bedrock philosophy to live the rest of my life by then I didn't want to be here anymore. So immediately I thought, what is out there, and what does it want me to know, and I 'listened' for a bit, I began to develop a certain special hearing sense, I dove into intuition, I stopped talking so much and I followed up on the connections that the universe wanted to show to me.) ---t.Saturn, which is natally in my 3rd, was passing through my 8th in Pisces, so I think that may be a reason why I took a disciplined approach to an esoteric study as a response to loss (Saturn had just gone over Sun in the 8th). ---t.Pluto was just going through my 5th & later in conj to n.Uranus (odd hobby obsession, interest in esoteric matters). ---t.Uranus and then later Neptune went over n.Aqua Merc, which helped in seeing the connections, the threads that run through a person's life and how it connects to another's. Ultimately, got what I wanted, which was an answer and peace of mind; and what I intuited then, the working philosophy that I needed just to keep going, has been verified through my learning of various disciplines throughout the yrs and has never failed me. Jupiter Scorpio natally in the 4th, which I'm sure adds to my capacity for this type of learning, and what it has given me. I feel from it a strength at my core and of being deeply blessed. . . . "Interesting, I know alot of people dismiss astrology because they don't think sun sign horoscopes are accurate and what not.. they think that is all there is. Many people don't know anything about astrology which is why they are skeptics. That one study on astrology being false really made me laugh." ---So true, magazine/newspaper horoscopes/compatibilities do a major disservice to the study. The good thing is that they are fun and can capture interest to learn more. IP: Logged | |
