I think everyone has something that made them want to search for truth. And astrology is a good way to obtain truth.

For me, It was in 2007 when I met and fell madly in love with someone. The extent of the way I fell in love threw me for a loop, and never had I experienced such longing and utter despair in my life before... I figured I must have known that person before because I had a vivid dream of him before we met.. it was just him standing in pitch black darkness and he gestered at me with his hand. lol..
And here I am 4 years later.. I still remember the look he gave me when we first met.. I fell in love at first sight!!!

So a deep love of mine made me learn so much about astrology. Would you say love made you do the same? Or was it something else that interested you?

As far as our synastry, His Venus and Mars are conjunct My South Node on my 12th house cusp...Just one of our strong points.

I've still got a long way to go when it comes to having a deep knowledge about astrology. I started learning it because I wanted to see what it could teach me about myself (Sun opp Neptune, kinda foggy sense of self sometimes) and why I'm perpetually single.

Were you ever a skeptic? Or you always kinda believed in it? I'm guessing you always kinda believed.

I was skeptical before I realized it was more than just sun signs. Once I got further and further into it, it made sense to me.

Interesting, I know alot of people dismiss astrology because they don't think sun sign horoscopes are accurate and what not.. they think that is all there is. Many people don't know anything about astrology which is why they are skeptics. That one study on astrology being false really made me laugh.

I was a skeptic, that slowly changed.

Astrology helps me to weed out the unworthy vs good investments in my life. Yes we are talking about people. I look at charts myself sometimes to help me weed out bad investments.

That's the thing -- once someone asked me what my rising sign was, I was like, "There's more to this than just the Sun sign?" Then I started digging and now here I am.

I definitely identify with this. Having Neptune conjunct my Sun/square Moon, I never had a clear picture of self. I pursued astrology because it helped me identify certain qualities of my self which were previously unconscious. Through study I was able to bring together a picture of self and others, and now it helps me understand and appreciate self and others beyond their astrology.

=D

Astrology really does help you see yourself as clear as standing naked in front of a mirror. You know your strengths, weaknessess, karma, etc.

It's a good way to dismiss any bad karma from following you around all your lifetimes.

I got into it like half a year after I met this guy who had this strange yet huge effect on me. Like we just worked. Like magic. Even after a week I felt like I knew him forever! I mean I have clicked with people before, but NO ONE ever affected me the way he did. Still the only person that really truly affected me in a significant way to this day lol.
Later found out he was a soulmate. I didn't believe any of that even existed.

Then I started to believe in God lol. I was such a cynical person back then and a true skeptic. Now I've grown very spiritual and have learnt a great deal about life. So it was really a spiritual awakening actually!

Being a virgo and having my mars in 6th house too, and pluto in 8th house scorpio makes me somewhat obsessive with gaining knowledge at times. I just lapped it all up and just studied it intensely. It was really confusing at the start, I remember being completely stumped with how aspects worked, but darn has it come in handy! Now I really do have a much greater understanding on why I do the things I do. It's comforting really.

I've always been somewhat interested in it. Then I bought the book Dark Side Astrology when I was 18 (2006) and suddenly found out about Ascendants and Moon signs and so forth. Then my life made a drastic change... (hard Pluto transit) and I found myself in love with someone who could never love me back. Made me go even deeper.

I learned by first studying my own chart and googling every aspect, once I figured out how to read charts on Astro (with the help of their handy key). I have also bought a few computer generated readings and have visited an astrologer a few times to get more in depth. I also bought a few books.

I've learned that it's definitely not a science and there is no real consensus between astrologers at all on any interpretation. It's all about what you feel~ or know intuitively. It's an art.

I think it's a science and an art. Because there are still rules.

For every rule in astrology, there's an exception. It's also something that you can't really PROVE to be true ALWAYS since there are so many layers to it that the human mind can not comprehend. I would never bet my life on an astrology prediction.

My maternal grandfather died back in 1992. There were some strange occurrences around his death and I wondered about this energy that came up. I wanted to figure out and understand the energy. The psychic stuff, I was a skeptic and so reading up on astrology, back in 94, Helped this Mercury in Taurus see things.......

Same as you, athenegoddness. I fell in love deeply in 2003, so I started looking at astrology and it all kinda make some sense even though my knowledge is very limited. I gain the most help and knowledges going through many posts on lindaland. I still remembered some very kind souls like william, sthenri, glacius etc. They shared their stories and knowledge. Its a great place to read and share and heal.

I agree with this. And if you stick to them and take your time, more often than not you can get a really accurate reading out of the chart in front of you.

I worry about where astrology is headed at this point though because I've noticed a trend recently that's unfortunately picking up steam. People rewrite planets, asteroids, whatever, to mean anything they want it to mean. You can even outright rattle off a bunch of legitimate sources that contradict what they're saying and they'll continue to insist that their interpretation of that planet, sign or aspect is correct.

I think a lot of it is people just not liking what things mean so they decide to switch it to something they want to hear, whether it's accurate or not; and some of it is an ego-driven desire to end up some big-name in the field. So they start coming up with all these random theories and pushing them as fact because they wanna see their name up there with other legendary astrologers, known for having invented a new technique or something.

As far as the actual subject goes, I found my way to astrology gradually, similar to Platero. When I was younger I was fascinated by it and used to read my horoscope in the paper; sometime during my teenage years I discovered there's more to it than just a sun sign and wanted to know more and started reading books on it. It didn't have anything to do with a guy or anything like that - my interest in it has always been because of the insight you can get about yourself and others from the chart in front of you.

As a child I was already fascinated by hororscope ( I was never skeptic) and then I found Linda books. They explained lot more. Now, I am skeptic about newspaper hororscope so I ignore them or read for all 3 Sun, Moon and Asc.

At the moment I continue to know about astrology is because it is the way my life seem to make sense. The reason or excuse for craziness. Sometimes just gives more answers. It makes it more extraordinary than ordinary day to day life.

There are various other transits or aspects from astrology point of view where I come across and it says "you would be more interested in occult" and stuff.

I think horoscopes are worthless.. Mostly because larger cycles matter more.. But if I ever do read, I always read for my rising sign.

Do you think he might be your twin soul? It could be, your description of the impact he had on you and how there was this pull between the two of you pulling you towards each other right away makes me think of my ex.

It sounds like he is either your twin soul or a very strong soulmate karmic relationship! If he is not your twin soul then meeting such a strong karmic soulmate if you heal with unconditional love whatever pain resulted from this union then I would say that if you dont meet your twin soul in this life that you are getting close to meeting him whether in this life or the next few to come. I am just saying it could be him or you are getting close .

I think like you it was curiosity about myself, others and this immense longing that I have had since I was born to meet my soul mate and experience a love like never before that attracted me to astrology in high school.
