Our Dearest Comrade Socialist Brother Hero Dear Leader Kim Jong Il has passed away (i'm kidding... imagine me as a communist...)What does his chart say about his life and death? His actual birth city is Khabarovsk, USSR, pretty much on the border of North China, but Yakutia in East Siberia is close enough. His birth time is unknown, so I used noon. Why does this chart look so strange with huge 6th and 12th Houses?

I'm pretty certain that the midhaven tilt from the classically seen 90 degree from the ascendent has to do with the location where someone is born as it relates to the highest point in the sky at the time. Seeing as Yakutse, Russia (where he was born, didn't know that btw) is so crazy far north, the midhaven is gonna be extremely tilted. Needless to say when I first saw this I said "damnnnn look at that teeny weenie first house ". IP: Logged |

I don't feel bad for him, but for the people of North Korea (and potentially South Korea, if whoever takes over decides to start something). That chart IS pretty crazy! IP: Logged |

I wonder what difference in would make in his chart if it were in Whole Sign instead of Placidus. Too bad we don't know when he was born. Guess we'll have to stick to aspects and placements.Hmm... Cancer Pluto? It looks like a rogue placement. Well, it's sextile Virgo Juno... but no connections to his personal planets except an out of aspect opposition to Capricorn Mars... No wonder he was a self-involved dictator who kept his people confined to their homeland... EDIT: Forgot to mention out of aspect Cancer Pluto square Libra Neptune. IP: Logged |

Ami, It's hard to really study it w/o tob. We don't know the Moon degree. t.Neptune is a big player it seems because it has been back and forth in late Aqua for some time now, it's 1 deg off from his Sun. Apparently he's had heart disease and diabetes but there's no cause atm that I saw for death. Neptune over the Sun can go a few ways regarding loss, disappearance, suicide, in the negative reading of it, but to die under a hard Neptune transit is not unheard of since Neptune dissolves, it can be a really depressing time actually. p.Sun on Saturn aggravating the n.Venus/Saturn sq also is depressing, it feels like being held accountable for all the past mistakes you made, but you made them because you basically had a closed/walled up heart, so now you're seeing how you went so wrong. p.Venus on Saturn sq n.Venus kind of a variation on that theme, it can deal with loss of a relationship. t.Uranus is on his n.SN, sudden break with the past, could mean instability or instigating a change that has negative consequences, if you read the SN as negative. But the above is just in general. The aspects don't mean much to him personally without knowing house rulers, same for reading his natal, we don't know house placements, etc.Pluto's usually a good sized player in death charts and t.Pluto doesn't seem to be doing much, maybe something in the solar arcs. Or maybe t.Pluto is on one of his angles, we may never know..He does have t.Jupiter sq n.Pluto. I don't think he died a v.happy person, just looking at this. But I didn't know him obviously. When I saw this on Yahoo I nearly **** my pants because this little guy has been on my mind!! Haha, talk about synchronicity.I don't really trust the accuracy of that chart but it's interesting that he seemed to have taken ill since tPluto was conjuncting his nMars (which is square Neptune). According to Robert Hand, transiting Pluto's effects take a while to unfold. Adios dude. Gonna miss that bouffant!

Omg the Axis of Evil is disappearing!!! Gaddafi, Bin Laden, and now...sob...how will we be able to cope with the actual mortality which is presented here? Could it be these people are only human?! Sorry for the smarmy-ness
btw here is an interesting discussion on Noel Tyl's site on the death midpoint. Don't know how much I go for it, but I think it's worth a look :http://noeltyl.com/discussion/index.php?topic=4897.0

PS - I'd love to look at the solar arcs for this but I am feeling really lazy since I have to get up for work tomorrow. But I think the midpoints and the arcs might def figure in. You might also want to use Equal for the chart since it's so wonky ...just to even out the houses a little bit. IP: Logged |

Actually, as I said, he was born in Kharbarovsk, which is further south across the northern-most Chinese border. The astro.com website has limited cities in that vicinity, and those that were available would have moved longtitudinally to the next time zone. I kept it in +9 GMT. His father, Kim Il Sung was given permission to flee there when the Japanese occupation of Korea was impending by Josef Stalin, who then pronounced Kim the Supreme Leader after WW II ended. You mean in charts we can determine if a person died happy or not? Wow...

I think strong Jupiter is usually present when someone dies, and some people think it's because death is kind of a liberation. Like entering the spiritual world, hence the strong Jupiter aspects. I don't know if they really mean someone was "happy" when they died, but it probably indicates that their soul has gone in peace.IP: Logged |

Kim Jong Il was born in russia? wow I did not know that I was in Khabarovsk (it is very nice city and I was in yakutsk ) Yakutsk is very very far north. Crazy winters (-50 C), but great people. During summer time, Yakutsk has so called "white nights" (you can actually read a book without any electricity it is so bright)

When it comes to some locations you're supposed to pull the chart up in Equal otherwise you WILL get really awkward houses.Off to pull it up in Equal now... IP: Logged |

Actually, the Japanese were so arrogant that they also wanted resource-rich Siberia. That was the main objective after occupying Manchuria, which pretty much is barren desert. Besides the Russian military being equally powerful, I don't see how hiding out in Khabarovsk would have protected Kim Il Sung and his family. You would think a real Leader would stay and hold his own ground against an aggressor force. Says a lot of the chicken-hearted mentality of these despots. Plus the screwed-up mentality of the buffoon Japanese, expending energy to occupy a nothing piece of land called Manchuria.
