When you do house rulers, the planet that rules the sign represents anything to do with that house. If you are Scorpio rising, Pluto is the ruler of your 1st house, and so Pluto represents anything to do with house 1, in the natal or in transit. When looking to see how your doing at work, I'd look at house rulers 1 (self) and 6 (work) in relation to each other.

Hmm, methinks I should be applying the houses rulers to the symbolisms of each planet, I wrote them above.

So instead of:

Neptune square Moon (Ruler of 8th House) : YOUR HOME/MOTHER is conflicting with your JOINT FINANCES, DEATH, SEXUALITY.

It would be:

Neptune square Moon (Ruler of 8th House) : YOUR HOME/MOTHER is conflicting with your PSYCHE when it comes to JOINT FINANCES, DEATH, SEXUALITY.

Does this make more sense? I was really surprised that you didn't have some sort of "debt" or loss because of your mother... There were signs here and there of affliction with the energy coming from your 4th house (Saturn). Makes me wonder if I should reinvestigate the 2nd House a little more. We always attach material possessions and assets with the 2nd House. The 2nd House is also about HOW we acquire these things, so perhaps I should focus more on that.

How I initially interpreted this was that you were disillusioned (Neptune) when it comes to your emotional security/psyche (Moon) in regards to 8th House issues. The 8th House rules death, sexuality, secrets, other people’s resources that you benefit from, and inheritance. I've always wondered if the 8th House or the 12th House is the house of Sacrifice. From what I've read, it's the 8th House... which makes sense because its opposite, the 2nd house, is about acquirement. So perhaps it's:

If I am not materialistic is because of my mother. She taught me that money is important so you can live a comfortable life but that you should be practical and frugal with it. She made it really clear as a child that you have to work hard for your money and that money doesn't grow on trees. I was the type of child who at a very young age was understanding of this and as a result didn't pressure my mom to get me expensive things and would just be grateful that I always had a what I need.

I feel that this aspect represents that I wasn't spoiled as a child and that my mother taught me good values in connection to money. Perhaps the fact that moon conjuncts IC buffered the moon square neptune since moon conjunct IC means you grew up with everything you needed. My mom has also been big on charity and perhaps this is another layer of moon square neptune and the values she taught in connection to money.

What do you think? You think this explains it?

I'm going to try a different translation style so it's easier to read and understand. Also, I'm using an orb of 3-4 degrees, for simplicity's sake. You can use an orb up to 7. Depends on the person looking at the chart. I usually will only look at 3-4 degrees or less, unless the person asks for a wider orb.
