I don't notice ups and downs, the energy is pretty steady. I am however pretty obsessive/picky about the situations I agree to serve. Service is a wholly immersive experience for me and tends to transform me deeply.
One way this manifests is through the jobs I take on. When I choose a job, it has to be something I feel makes a difference. Also if I find myself in a job which squashes my ability to create or overachieve, I become depressed and my mind fixates on leaving (almost to the point of panic) until I just finally do. I treat a job like it could possibly become a career and don't even go seeking prospects I know will eventually end in me leaving.
I think work relationships inevitably result in transformation for me. I am generally introverted, but work requires me to utilize and exercise my extroverted side. It also provides an environment in which I feel safe opening up, because the politics and protocols help structure interaction and reign in some of my more nebulous and wandering energies.
Any ups and downs I notice seem to come from Uranus in Scorpio 7th house (which is utilizing similar energies as my Pluto). Those are more easily identified when relationships cross over from the "work" realms, into the more Scorpio "personal" realms. A majority of these relationships also involve my Pluto, but by the time Uranus jumps into the mix, the relationship is WAAAAY beyond appropriate for work. lol
