ok so who has this aspect in their natal chart!? (if you don't...you're so lucky in my eyes!) I do, with venus in Aries (5th house) and Neptune in capricorn (2nd house)! Seriosuly I think everyone is downright cool until someone else takes my rose tinted glasses off and then I say 'ooohhhhh!' but on a serious note I think a lot of my downfalls in relationship has been that I think this person is someone I made up in my head, and they dont turn out like that! A lot of the time when I like someone its nice to imagine them, then when I Really see them, I do a runner! lol! How does yours play out?

I have this aspect and it wears me down at times especially in my love life lol. My venus is 4deg libra in my second house and my neptune is at 1 deg cap in my fifth house. I know what you mean about the rose tinted glasses, so many relationships I've had..failed one's are usually that way because I have tried to SAVE someone from themselves. I've dated depressed guys, alcoholics, guys who have drug abuse problems and anyone who I think I can fix. Recipie for disaster isn't it lol. It makes me idealistic and predisposes me to be duped or lied to especially lovers. I would love to know more about it all If anyone wants to share

this is a tough aspect,i dont have it natally, but i did have transiting neptune conjunct natal venus for a few years, and it definitely caused me not to see people i cared about really,in one instance in particular i thought i had found the love of my life but it turned out our relationship meant nothing to her,on a positive note venus neptune aspects give a great capacity for love, you just have to make sure you stay grounded and seeing the person for who they really are,and not what you want them to be.

sc0rpioRising, I'd love to be positive and upbeat about your situation with this guy but be weary , the last guy I was with had was lead singer of his own band and all he did outside of gigs was...drink...he used to drink alone at home nearly every night. The relationship was doomed from the start. Be careful

aguaguy91, You were hit with a bolt of idealism with that transit. Unrequited love seems to be a real hazard for anyone with hard venus/neptune aspects natally. Staying grounded is a must, I see that now myself.

i loved the feeling it gave when i thought i had found the one,i just hated when reality checked in,neptune venus aspects are scary to me because it can make you think you are in paradise when in reality you are standing on a trash heap,so i am happy to say transiting neptune is almost out of orb of my already battered venus,i have venus square moon, mars, pluto, and quincunx chiron already,i dont need anything else to ruin my love life XD

That's why it's so important to get a trusted second opinion.... from friend or family member. Venus in aries is in detriment. But you also need to look at the *other aspects* to these two planets as they will 'help or hinder' the situation...

angel100 - thanks for your concern, that was very sweet! Unfortunately I cant leave him, (im married lol!) I knew about his drinking before, I stupidly thought I could change that once we get married, guess I was naive (and 22 at the time!) he's such a nice guy, but the drinking, dont get it, but we're working on it!

What a tricky aspect to own. I own it and it comes amplified with Jupiter partnering up beside my Neptune - both doing the square dance ho down with my gentle Venus in Pisces. With Venus in pisces it is already neptune influenced head in sand, off the ground and never in reality.

This can make you fall in love with a monster of a person......kind of like turning a skin rotting zombie into a venus de milo type god or godess. The mud fence does not look like a mud fence.

I had an association with a man, who I thought was my soul mate - but he would never commit and kept stringing me along. He would seem to say and do the right things until a major conflict came up and he disappeared into the arms of another. He said to keep in touch but again he strung me along until scorn and hateful threatening words came my way and again tore up my fragile heart.

A person falls in love with love or the idea/illusion what love is about and attaches it to anybody who first shows interest. Oh I had such a terrible time just settling on the first man to say hi - just hoping that he would be the one. Well 4 engagements later and going through a whole mess of relationships, after one harsh fall, I learned my lesson.

I learned to raise my standards and aim higher. For a while I chose to have men only as friends, yet some wanted more and I denied that to them. I was successfully single for three years and those were the best 3 years I have ever given to myself.

This position is way to self sacrificing at times and it can be easy to become another's doormat. Venus in Pisces can be like that too - They want to be nice and pleasant and don't want any conflict and so they will go along with what ever.

Fortunately, I have a strong Sun in Aries that commands me to be self focused and be an individual who stand up for herself. I have 4 earth planets and all my earth houses are loaded - I am more grounded than my Venus Square Neptune shows me not to me. (Both my Sun and Rising rulers are in earth signs).

With Jupiter added to the mix, I overindulge a bit and get carried away with things.

My take on this aspect any how.....

Wow Cynnared thanks for your in depth answer.. I knew a guy who was an Aries, with Venus in Pisces.. He was just the most nicect guy ever and I connected with a lot, because he was quite open with how he felt! I kept thinking to myself... he cant be an Aries! then I found out about his Pisces Venus and Libra moon! Think it balanced his aggressivness evenly! I love people with Venus in Pisces! lol!
I totally get you when u say
"A person falls in love with love or the idea/illusion what love is about and attaches it to anybody who first shows interest."
I am like that... I just havent learnt my lesson, anybody who shows me a little bit of affection.. thats it I think the world of them! I hope I can realise not to do that anymore too..!

I have venus in libra in the 5th square neptune in capricorn in the 8th. ....I'll just tell yuo that that this is not the aspect to have. My regular friends who update me on their lives and we talk I'm not reallyh as attached to as I am with the friend who has a problem and needs my help..or just wants to sit with me but not talk at all...or maybe that's my mercury square nepune that likes to imagine what insane problem they're. Thinking about...not sure but our judgement is almost always wrong...we get details and stories confused ...

I have this as well, Venus in Aries 11H square Neptune in Capricorn in the 8th. I don't think it has to do as much harm as everyone thinks it does. I think the aspect just weakens the realization that we're in control of what happens vs. things playing out like something destined or "fated". Something fantastical (is that a word, lol?)... While I do contend it gives rose colored glasses, couldn't you also say it softens the blow of disappointment? Saturn would be harsh, but if you have Venus square Neptune wouldn't all the affects of it be felt "softly"?

I have Venus square Saturn too by the way. Now I consider anyone who doesn't have THAT lucky.

YES! Xs 1000. I feel like my Venus/Saturn and Venus/Neptune play ping pong with each other. It's very hard for me to commit but I'm so giving at the same time. And so many times I've been generous and thinking I'm not doing enough when I was doing too much.

hmmm You could be right there, I have been told I just 'let things happen to me' rather then taking charge of what happensnin my life' i'm a big believer of things happen for a reason... So most of the time i am a go with the flow person... never though of it like that! Thanks!

Venus square neptune is rearing is ugly head at me.
I'm heartbroken that the guy I dated online three years ago won't respond to the text messages I just sent him. I called him twice, he didn't answer either. I want to get back in contact with him to tell him I'm going to be in the area of where he lives and maybe we could meet.

I have Venus sextile Neptune, so sometimes I can put my loved ones on a pedestal and just idealize them... I want them to be a certain way, so I can feel happy and secure. I'll be very sweet to them if I want to be to keep harmony, it helps that I am a Libra sun so this is second nature to me. The square sounds quite hard to manage and I feel bad for those who have it. Even dealing with the sextile can be sort of annoying for me at times because of how it can make me so let down when I wake up from my fantasy.

Since, when things don't work out, only problem is I have that lovely Pluto-Venus conjunction... I am VERY vindictive when I realize someone is letting me down and it hurts so much inside. I'll feel betrayed and instead of being sad I become enraged and cut them out of my life. It's very impulsive but usually a knee-jerk reaction. I also think this happens because I become enraged when I see that I allowed myself to be Neptunian in my love nature and deceive myself into thinking someone was not the way I wanted them to be - or thought they were. But usually it's the former.

I have Venus in the 11th also in Aries square Neptune in Cappy in the 7th house.

I'm not sure if the effects of this aspect has changed due to growing older and wiser, or if I'm able to summarize better what it does now that I have more of an understanding of my own nature but - I think the biggest effect I feel from this is being unsure if I'm really loved or if I'm being used. It doesn't help that I have Venus square Saturn in the same houses, respectively, either.

I tend to see people for what they are but I ignore what others would consider red flags. I can soften the blow the any harsh truth as long as it keeps the person I'm now (often too soon) attached to, in my life.

Hmmm....now that you mention it, having Jupiter trine my Venus/Neptune conjunction was no help at all in my dating years.

LOL!

This aspect has been the Bane of my life. Its worse cuz venus is my chart ruler and my sun ruler(sun libra/taurus rising), venus is the strongest planet in my whole chart. Its in the 5th in virgo and squaring neptune in sag in the 8th, so it involves both "sex" houses. An astrologer wrote that afflictions from the 5th to the 8th usually indicate a cheater or even deviation in extreme cases. I am neither (my saturn and pluto are way to strong and im double earth). Instead I just attract them...like magnets...huhmmmm.

I have this aspect, and frankly am not sure how I feel it playing out. Venus in Pisces conjunct my ascendant square Neptune (chart ruler) in Sagittarius near the MC (9th house side, 10 degree orb.) This is actually one aspect I've always been curious about but never been able to gauge that well.
