Yeah... a week in St. Tropez, Nice and Monaco... plus shopping... how much is that even on a very modest level?

Ever flown business/first class on SG or private jet? It goes to your head quickly

Ney... yr travelling in luxury! I can't afford that. We don't spend that much travelling too. And besides when we travel, we dun go shopping for expensive things ... its always those cultural heritage places i visit with many hundreds or thousands of histories, World herritage sites, ruins, hoping to discover something or see something exciting.

Unfortunately, that sort of mentality got me very turned off by Asian women in general and from that point onwards, I dated no Asian women.

Cool you're Asian? Me too, you're story about your ex does ring a bell. Not nice of her, you did the right thing there. Not all of them are like that though. *raises hand*

I guess I'm a little materialistic. But I like real quality, not cheaply made crap that has an expensive price tag. Money doesn't impress me, prestige does. That's how you can tell the difference between rich people and people who aspire to be rich. I work at a country club, none of the members flaunt their wealth because its considered tacky.

I have Venus in the 10th.

Of course, there are quality items that are routinely discounted and there are instances where high quality items do not cost much. Having said that, that is more the exception rather than the norm.

The truly rich are secure enough that they despise talking about wealth. Its the tacky that wear the brand labels on the outside.

However, there are certain designers like Chanel and LV that insist on slathering their logos on most of what they make (again, there are LV bags without any logos).

Anyway, I'm not enthralled by stuff. My attraction is to success, career wise, parenting wise, or otherwise. Materialism is only a byproduct of success.

I have Jupiter in Taurus in the 8th house and I get taken care of in my life.. materialistic wise. And I find myself wanting material stuff, but I know I CANNOT want this stuff. Because desire is the source of all suffering.. Yet my Jupiter in Taurus wants the stuff. Lol...

It satisfies some type of desire I have for beauty. I know my Libra ASC comes into play as well.. The stuff I want are things that have to do with my appearance.

What to do!!! how to stop the physical from hurting the spiritual!

you can have material things just don't get attach to them.

Venus Libra 7H

I like material things, it's definitely not everything though. I'm not into the lastest fashions, and I refuse to by something too expensive no matter how much I want it. My style & taste is simple & elegant.

Eh no.. not really.

Material stuff is just 'more stuff' that needs to be cleaned and looked after.

Simplicity and less is easier for me.

I'd also love what you mentioned about having a dream together; even if it was just doing things around the house together, being part of a real team would appeal to me.

Born into it and didn't want a dime, and decided that I want to make my own in my own way, and not through nepotism. Could have had it really easy too, everything handed over. Still bust my butt everyday getting up at 5 am and sleeping at midnight.

The dream gets sweeter after you lose everything, start over, and find your way again.

Don't focus on stuff but once in a while I do enjoy stuff, and I get annoyed when folks want to begrude me that little bit of enjoyment after busting my butt everyday.

I would rather have a $300 black diamond engagement ring (that was formed in lab rather than mined--NO BLOOD DIAMONDS FOR ME, THANKS) than a $10,000 Harry Winston princess cut blah blah blah. I think Tiffany's is passe. If a dude presented me with a Tiffany's ring, I would say no because obviously this guy doesn't know me well enough to want to marry me (NOT because of the price point).
