I have my Sun in 8th house conj Jupiter and Merc and WOW it seems like you just described me in a lot of ways. I've always felt misunderstood and really independent even though I crave for someone I can depend on entirely. Like you, I also met someone I could always relate to when I had a problem and we both feel like we're connected somehow. I've been really close to her for 7 years already. I'm really good at helping people with their emotional problems but I hardly know how to identify mine.IP: Logged |

Common with this placement. H8 Sun and I'm there with ya, few understand me and as the years go by I grow more satisfied and content with that fact. To me, people should be complex, and life is one mystery after the next. I'd rather be complicated. I also have a Water Sun, which is happier in a water house, than a Sun of a different element might be, it trines my Scorp Jupiter in the 4th and Pluto conj IC which really increases my intuition. So if you're down about this one, look to see if your Sun trines placements in the 12th or 4th, it'll help you connect to the watery realm of occult studies, paranormal, help you tune into others, etc.Another issue w.H8 Sun is that getting to the root of your own psyche, and that of those you're close to, is such a driving force, and is so hard for others to see, that it shouldn't really be a surprise that the task is more of an inner journey. Also in traditional astrology H8 is a weak house and to have the Sun there provides little to no benefit to the native. IP: Logged |

My sun is in the 8th and it's tied into a 4 planet stellium. Needless to say I do feel you, and really do understand how you feel.Nevertheless, I REFUSE to let things drag me down or feel like things are unfair. Make the best of it! The wonderful thing about the 8th house is you can use it to transform anything. It's hard work, and can be quite painful, but rest assured it can be done! ------------------ It's All Elemental ----- My Chart if relevant IP: Logged |

To add more. One of the hardest things I struggle with having all of this 8th house energy, and over all scorpio energy, is feeling good. Something as simple as feeling the love someone has for me. It's very, very hard. The 8th has a penchant for the heavy and dark. It's very easy for us to "slip under" and simply not feel any light from anyone. To focus on just the dark. Sometimes for years at a time. The easiest way out of that is to help others because it allows us to "connect" but it can easily be just a rout of giving energy, not receiving. I will let this song do the talking, because it speak so much truth. Love yourself, and you will feel all of the love that is around you. It IS there. The 8th house is sensitive, and it is sensitive to the light as well, you just have to be open to it.

My Sun shares the 8th house with Neptune and Venus. I certainly understand the feeling of being separate from others, but I am fortunate to have a lot of fire, so being separate feels more like, just being a unique individual. I have to admit, I always sort of believed that every person has that place where they feel by their self. Everyone has an 8th house, we just feel like we come from that place. If you spend enough time in that place, you begin to understand that you have such deep insight into people, because that lonely place which we believe is our own, is really a big shared room that we are too busy looking out of our eyes and talking out of our mouths to notice. Sun in 8th house people can step away from the outside world and listen to what is happening on the inside of everything. I am very happy my Neptune is here, because I am capable of seeing people's inner thoughts and feelings with clarity when I have been invited to do so. Take heart friend, you are standing at the precipice of the universal truth behind the images which flash in front of your eyes. The more you understand it, the less you feel afflicted and the more you feel like someone who knows the punchline to a joke that many other people are trying to figure out. The more you understand it, the more other people seem afflicted and you seem fortunate enough to be able to help them. =D IP: Logged |

my guy has 8th house Virgo Stellium with his Sun there too. the details of his life do sound torturous, and unfair, however one could also put it as a path of interesting, unique experiences. i think 8th house people may have lots of hardships in life, but also are strong and survive the predicaments.IP: Logged |

having your sun (or any planet) in a house is only HALF a story. Planets are modified by signs, where they express are houses and how they express are *aspects*The Mysteries of the 8th House: House of Death & Transformation by Carmen Turner-Schott http://www.ofspirit.com/carmenturnerschott1.htm http://mysticmedusa.com/2009/03/the-eerie-8th-house/ http://mystarworld.com/content/planets_in_8th_house.asp IP: Logged |

I have a brother with this placement. Yes, it is incredibly difficult. He appeared to be okay on the outside but was falling apart on in the inside. The good news is that he did eventually find happiness and is now happily married to his first love.It is possible to find happiness with this placement. Patience is key. IP: Logged |

Again, I'm a Scorpio 8H and I don't think it's hard to be alone. Well from family and friends yes, but relationship wise I could be single forever :] doesn't matter to me. IP: Logged |

I wouldn't say so. They're each "difficult" in their own way. Having gotten close to several scorpio ascendents, and scorpio suns, all three (using me as the sun-8th example, I am the only one I know) have their own share of "difficulties". Similar but different in their own right. One thing I have noticed with scorpio energy is it has to be intergrated into everything else or it doesn't work (which interstingly, is not what scorpio thinks it wants). In the past when I have tried to "compartmentalize" my scorpio energy I disfunction. Same with a few friends I have. Once it becomes seamless and it stops being a fight, things work out well.

I don't think so Sand. Speaking as a Sun/Mercury/Pluto in the 8th House individual. All Pluto and Scorpio placements are strong and I'd say depending on your perspective are difficult however I think they just have varied expression. For example a Scorpio Rising will express their Plutonian energy a bit different then someone like myself with Pluto/Scorpio in the 8th House. It's like based on placements we're on similar paths just different journeys. I've always seen having a powerful 8th house as a blessing. It's never been an easy life, hell is an all too familiar place. Trust me I have a room in Hades that I visit every once in a while not by choice of course. But I've also got a room in a place near heaven that I visit less frequently but it's there as a reminder. Having 8th house planets isn't that bad, I've learned life is what you make it and you get what you give. I stopped feeling pity for myself a long time ago. Yes horrifying things happen to me at an alarmingly frequent rate, but gosh I know a lot about a great deal because of those experiences. I'll always views the 8th house as a gift, possibly the ultimate gift in relation to transformation and existing. Let's turn our frown's upside down 8th Housers! IP: Logged |

That's true. I think it has to do with the compulsive and obsessive nature of Scorpio/Pluto. It's a hard lesson to learn, letting go and just allowing things to unfold without trying to control the progression and outcome of events and people. IP: Logged |

i know a great book for you to read...its all about the 8th house and people who have such strong placements in it, such as sun or moonits called the mysteries of the eighth astrological house by carmen turner-schott its available on amazon for about $15 she is really good with interpreting 8th house planets and what it means for such individuals and she talks about everything from paranormal experiences, death, sex and everything else that has to do with scorpio, pluto and the 8th house...there are even things associated with the 8th that you would never have thought ------------------ I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate? when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history IP: Logged |

to help answer your question, i'll use what carmen talks about in the bookshe says 8th house people are destined to be healers (of course if you'v read anything of the 8th house or of scorpio, it'll say that, so its a little generic) but the reason we are is because we go through so much pain in our lives...we forever feel alone, and people who have had pain in their lives are inevitably drawn to us we could suffer from death of loved ones, to abuse of any kind or just loneliness in my life, i'v nearly died when i was a baby, my grandfather died when i was about a year old, my father died when i was 11, my grandmother died at around the same time, and my best friends mother died a couple of years later
also, my mother emotionally punishes me...you might have seen one or two posts where i had ranted about her also, we are very prone to depression, and through that we can heal and help others
carmen actually has a group on FB called Astrology (8th House) Eighth House Planets Support Group...its a closed group so you'll have to ask to join if you cant find it, the URL is eighthhousepeopleunite ------------------ I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate? when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history IP: Logged |
