Thanks for such a well thought out reply, Regardes I actually think this applies to both fire and earth signs. Of course, the majority of the population does not want to be a loner as we all need people. But like you said, it's like earth (and in my op) fire could do without them for long periods if need be. That much is evodenced in the plethora of projects fire and earth signs have which dont involve other people, but simply achieving something like earning them more money or developing a skill. But air and water sign's projects almost always revolve around other people rather than doing something for themselves. They are the ones who are happiest when handling and accomodating other people or talking to them and trying to make them laugh (air signs) or listening to them and making them feel nurtured and emotionally fulfilled (water signs). Fire and earth signs can go a long time focusing on their creative goals without seeing that many people for a long time without losing any drive or ambition for what they're doing. IP: Logged |

Changeability does not come with element but with modality. Mutable signs are changeable. There are Fire, Earth, Air and Water signs that are mutable (Sag, Virgo, Gemini, Pisces). My chart is all Air and Fire and like I stated earlier, I'm a triple Air, so I can't speak much to what drives a Water or Earth sign. For myself, I have emotions. They are an "even keel." I can tell you why I feel the way I feel at any given time. I would say of the people I know (most being Virgo Moons), I am among the more emotionally stable (really, it has more to do with your Sun and Moon being in agreeable signs than anything, AND THEN aspects, little to do with the element of the sign). Every cookbook description of Aqua says that they prefer being alone (that "they love humanity but hate people"). IP: Logged |

Regardes, your reply seems kind of off-topic, though I get what you mean. I am just saying that air and water signs always go into professions that try to cater to and accomodate other people's needs. Whereas fire and earth are more independent and don't need to feel like they connect with people like that. Seems like we agree IP: Logged |

Let's run down the list of stereotypical careers for each sign, shall we:Aries- military commander Taurus- beautician Gemini- journalist Cancer- homemaker Leo- rockstar Virgo- doctor Libra- lawyer Scorpio- private investigator Sag- professor Cap- CEO Aqua- scientist Pisces- spiritual guru Seems pretty all over the place in terms of who would rather help people vs who does better on their own. I was so hard at 'water-realistic' part Level of emotional stability can be seen through elements, not just modality. One can easily say Earth Moons are very stable. (not to mistaken Virgo's fussiness with instability ) Air Moons, too. They may be intelectually volatile, going from idea to idea,brainstorming... Fire Moons are very driven, change of hearts,or goal, and therefore shifted determination can also be seen as instability. Water Moons are moody, whimsical as someone stated,if something doesn't 'feel' right they just back out form whatever they are doing. Yes,even Scorpios. If you see stability as following through,Earth is your Moon. IP: Logged |

Huh?? Fire is said to be realistic? Did I read that correctly? As a Fire Sun, I am totally idealistic. I think there's probably a touch of pragmatism and a rather down-to-earth side to most Fire Suns since we often have Mercury and/or Venus in one of the Earth signs (as well as, of course, the ones with Earth Moons). But, I hate too much realism and practicality. It narrows my vision and dampens my dreams. I'm all about ideals and I have such high expectations for life that I inevitably end up disappointed. But I keep on believing. Even some of the smartest Fire Suns have a kind of naivete that makes us believe, or at least act, like we can do anything. IP: Logged |
