Well, my Venus is in Aquarius in the 5th house of creativity. It's sextile moon, trine Uranus and trine Mars. It has no hard aspects. It's also conjunct Juno,Eros & Ceres in an Aqua Stellium. But I'm also a Libra Asc with Sun and Moon in the 7th. Fairly Venusian...I am extremely moved by music. I remember the first time I went to a musical and I cried uncontrollably, not because of the show itself but because the music began to vibrate my nervous system. Good music still does that to me. I'm definitely connected to music on another level... A level few people understand. My career now also strongly involves music. IP: Logged |

Cancer-Venus in the 11th house... I love calm sensual relaxing music at night. When I'm sad I won't listen to music at all anymore. It brings too much emotion that I don't want to feel. IP: Logged |

Venus in Scorpio, conjunct Pluto, in the 12th. Libra sun. I have a few different kinds that I like. I notice that certain signs for singers/musicians come up a lot in my likes: Scorpio and Taurus, occasionally Libra and Gemini. Leo ascendants are common, when the ASC is known. One of my favorite bands is Duran Duran. Of the current members, lead singer, Simon Le Bon, is a Scorp. Nick Rhodes and John Taylor are Geminis. Roger Taylor is a Taurus. I really like Natalie Merchant, who is a Sun, Venus, and Neptune in Scorpio (Libra Mercury, though). Jeff Buckley, another one that I like, had Sun, Venus, Mercury, and Neptune in Scorpio. I used to like Jewel before she really sold out. (Like her first two albums, a few songs on "This Way", it went downhill from there and I no longer listen to her; "Spirit" was her last good album. I'm the last one to complain about things being "mainstream" and "commercial", but her lyrics have become completely inane; I liked her music better when it was more intense and more thoughtful). I like Sarah McLachlan too, who's an Aquarius but has planets in Scorpio (Neptune) and Pisces (Mars). I also like Hall and Oates; Darryl Hall is a Libra with a lot of Scorpio influence. John Mellencamp, I've been listening to him more lately; he's a Libra. I really love opera and am getting more interested in ballet. My favorite opera is La Traviata; music by Verdi (Libra) and the librettist, I forget, but I looked it up once and he was a Taurus. Tchaikovsky, really like, he was a Taurus too. Placido Domingo is an Aquarius; Pavarotti was a Libra. Josh Groban is a Pisces with Libra influence. (He has a Leo ASC, though, as did Jeff Buckley and Pavarotti). I also love the band Apocalyptica. I would say that I tend to like slower, more moving music, often that's a bit 'sad'. I don't really like anything that sounds harsh, though--Apocalyptica is as close as I get. I like a sort of "tragic beauty" sound, if that makes sense: a "lovely sort of haunted". And, occasionally, as with Hall and Oates, I need something more fun. I tend to like the '80s for when I'm in that mood. Then again, though, in thinking about their lyrics, some are darker or more Scorpionic, but SOUND more fun. Example: "Private Eyes". Fun to listen to, but man...stalker-ish! I love the video for "Out of Touch", when they're dancing that giant drum. I so want want one of those! IP: Logged |

Music is EXTREMELY important to me. I am an avid fan of musicals, but there are also other songs that really touch me. What comes to mind is:
musicals: - Man of La Mancha (The impossible dream, Aldonza, Dulcinea) - City of Angels - Jesus Christ Superstar - Mozart - Elisabeth (the Austrian one, not the English queen) - Dance of the vampires - Jekyll and Hyde (esp. I need to know, Alive, This is the moment, Bring on the men, A dangerous game) - Dracula (I guess I simply like the music of Frank Wildhorn. lol) - Kiss of the Spider Woman others: - somne of the old Madonna songs like "Like a prayer" or "Like a virgin" or "Papa, don´t preach"
- My Immortal - Habanera (from "Carmen") - He`s a pirate (esp. the version by David Garrett, the violonist) - Air on a G string by Bach - This night by Caro Emerald (sp?) - Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley - Poison (Alice Cooper) - Iris (Goo goo dolls) - a lot of the so called Rock Hymns - Baby did a bad thing (Chris Isaac) - Wicked Soul (Kubb) - Bittersweet (Apocalyptica) - Time is running out (Muse) - I write sins not tragedies - Where the wild roses grow (Nick Cave / Kylie Minogue -this one gives me the chills) - Summerwine and so on... (for a time I liked a German band called "Oomph"; I found their videos and music to be rather creepy, but it intrigued me to notice how they seemed to crawl under my skin, and it was not a pleasant feeling; this is one of their videos:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bdounQNT4E ) Venus in Capricorn square Pluto on MC in Libra IP: Logged |

I have a prominent Venus in my chart (It’s in Sagittarius in the 1st house, trine Saturn ruler of my Capricorn Sun, and opposite Jupiter ruler of my Sag Asc…Venus is also semi square Uranus, and quintile Pluto)…and there is no way I could ever pick a favorite song or artist… I love literally hundreds, maybe even thousands of songs… as long as the music sounds good /is pleasing to the senses, it doesn’t matter what genre it is… pop, hip hop, R & B, alternative, rock, country, movie sound tracks and themes, old hits, or new hits…. even classical, and new age vibrational stuff…. I’ll listen to it if I like the melody/beat/rhythm/flow of it… and I probably know every hit since about 1970, and also most of the stuff before that… (Perhaps Venus in Sagittarius opposite Jupiter gives a strong appetite for liking many different types of music, and not wanting to limit yourself to one or two genres)The kind of music I like to listen to changes depending on my mood… If I’m revved up… it’s fast aggressive sounding music with a strong beat… if I’m feeling more mellow, it’s sweet romantic songs.… if I’m feeling moody, it’s darker more tormented sounding stuff… And if I’m feeling upbeat, it’s fun dance music….you get the picture. One thing I might mention is that I do have a fondness for the early 90’s music because that’s when I ‘discovered’ music as a kid and started taking an active interest in it… And, in keeping with my prominent Venus, I really do enjoy a good love song/ ballad (of any style)…. Ones that really move you, and make you feel… and just put you in a refreshed mood… or make you give a sentimental sigh…and I do tend to prefer the happy life affirming type love songs to the depressing sad stuff most of the time (Venus in Sag again maybe)….but every now and then, sometimes I’m in the mood for the more broody stuff as well…. (Venus trine to Saturn, and quintile Pluto) My Venus is at 29 Sag…. Putting it in a Leo decan, and Scorpio Duad…. I think the Sag part makes me like joyful, hopful, celebratory type music…. Like dance, or pop love songs…. The Leo decan part makes me like music where you can really feel the passion of the singer through the song. And music that really puts you in touch with how profound, or special, a certain experience really was though the changing intensity of it’s melody and rhythm…. Any music that has a feeling of grandeur, and heartfelt passion about it... (I feel that a lot of 80’s music has a strong Leo vibe to it)…. And the Scorpio duad is that little part of me that occasionally likes serious haunting melodies, and emotional contemplative ballads, or dark aggressive sounding music…. As well as songs that really put you in touch with the emotional undertones occurring between people… Also, in keeping with a prominent Venus…. How the music sounds tends to be more important then the lyrics to me, in terms of weather or not I like it…. Don’t get me wrong…. If I can resonate with the lyrics and love how it sounds as well, this makes a song even better…. But if it came down to priorities… I rank the beauty of the music above lyrics (although I won’t listen to offensive lyrics even if I like the melody)…. Asc in Sagittarius Sun in Capricorn in the 1st house Moon in Cancer in the 8th house Venus in Sagittarius in the 1st house, trine Saturn, opposite Jupiter, semi square Uranus, quintile Pluto… Mars in Leo in the 9th house Jupiter in Cancer in the 7th house

You're so lucky so as to have seen it there!
I saw it locally (would prefer not to give away my location) a few years ago. Although I knew that I liked opera, that was my first time going. Since then, I've listened to opera (Pavarotti and Domingo are my favorites, with Domingo slightly ahead as #1; my paternal grandmother and I used to listen to him and watch opera DVDs together actually; she's the one who got me into opera--her other favorite was Mario Lanza) and admittedly am a bit 'spoiled'. However, I did enjoy getting to see Carmen in France a few years ago, while studying there. Not everyone was great, but Carmen was really good and Michaela was excellent with "Je dis que rien ne m'epouvante." The acting was very good. It was a small group of performers. What made it special for me was being in France, listening to opera in French (a language that I do know and understand; I have some Italian too but it is much more limited). Ah, opera memories. I need to go again; I haven't been in such a long time. PS do you have favorite DVD versions (for when you need your opera fix)? I love the version of La Traviata from the 1980s with Domingo and Stratas. Stratas is not the best female singer to have ever lived (she isn't horrible, and I still enjoyed listening to her; just not my own favorite), but she is such an amazing actress. She's a Gemini; Domingo is Aquarius, and for someone so tiny, she has so much passion in her expressions. She really pours herself into her role. Plus, the decor. IP: Logged |

I think taking a look at the decan and dwad of your Venus is a good idea, actually. It never occurred to me before. My Venus is in Pisces in the 10th square Saturn, Uranus with a 0 degree orb and square Chiron as well as my ASC. It conjuncts NN. Its in the Scorpio decan and Aqua dwad. It is the ruler of my 5th and 12th. I mainly like punk/metal (including screamo, post hardcore/hardcore, death metal, black metal/ambient black metal, metalcore) but since I am a GEM RISING, I tend to be all over the place when it comes to music. I also like electro, shoegaze, dream pop, pop punk, straight up top 40s jams, folk, etc etc. I don't like reggae, jazz or what I call "sad rap" (hip hop without dancing). I have venus in scorpio, 8th house, conjunct pluto and trine mars and jupiter. I taught myself piano but I am not that great at it. I am still learning. I am no singer but I enjoy singing anyway. I like all kinds of music, but especially music i can dance to; any kind of dancing (this doesn't really sound like Venus conjunct pluto in scorpio, does it? haha). I love Gogol Bordello and Latin music (salsa, bolero, merengue, cumbia, etc). I also like "darker" music like The Cure, Joy Division, Tool. I like Marilyn Manson a lot, the pixies, lauryn hill. Def a fan of funk, blues, R&B, hip-hop. I especially love music with a political or social message. I love live music and go to concerts every chance I get. I guess that's about it; it's really hard for me to explain what type of music I like, when I basically enjoy everything. My sun is Sagittarius, moon Pisces, and ascendant aquarius IP: Logged |

venus in pisces conjunct ascendent.i love trip-hop, anything haunting and exquisite: portishead, massive attack, warpaint, etc. I also love chaotic music, with lots of instruments, i like singer-songwriters but i get bored after a while if it's just some person and their acoustic guitar or piano. i love earthy drums, didgeridoos, blues, stand-up bass, garage punk, celtic, folk and FUNK! I definitely love musicals and protest songs as well, and i cannot even begin to explain my love of live music. i also love 90s alternative, anything made in the 60s, lots of 50s oldies, swing, klezmer, and anything slightly dark and gothic - i love classically trained voices side by side with intense guitar and drums. Glad you like it . Perfume Tree is one of my most beloved bands. Many memories tied to them for me. I highly recommend looking into more of their stuff. I don't want to derail this thread too too much, so I'll just leave it with this. I just can't resist though! I'm always excited when I find someone who shares my music tastes, and I love to pass on hidden gems they might not know of. I dig DEEP for the music I listen to, and music is meant to be shared!
