Compared to Scorpio and Cancer, yes. You can tell the other water signs are hiding it and beneath that is a very high emotional depth. But with Pisces, it's usually not that much.

They're either pathological liars, or, very sensitive people with no backbone.

Does anyone have this with Pisces?

Whoa now, whoooooa. Don't speak so poorly of my lovely fishies!

The fish doesn't have a hard shell or some tough claws to defend themselves with (or a stinger, in my case ). Perhaps for those Pisces you know, lying is just the rock they seek shelter under...?

i would agree with the sensitive part but no backbone? the pisces i know have a sharp tongue and don't have a problem defending themselves. Sure they may get emotional over a situation but they fight back.

Redscorp you're going to make an entire zodiac sign fall in love with you talking like that! I like it!

I don't lie. Pisces friends are actually the only ones at the moment that I've never gotten my 'fibbing' radar up on at all. I've passed by some pisces who were horrible liars. I do not think that pisces are liars OR spineless. Usually I find those two go hand in hand. The pisces I know are the buffers of their families, the mediators of their friends, the cousellors of their bosses and the amateur psychologists to everyone. Those sound like characteristics of the backbone of society to me, not the spineless! Yes we tend to get dumped on by the rest of the zodiac and, yes, some pisces love to wallow in it because they feel that is their only acknowledged 'place'. But the truth of the rest of us: we take alot because we can HANDLE it. We are said to be so unreliable and so breakable and not good at coping -and yet we are quick to be called during break ups, marital issues, pregnancies, abuse, financial/health scares and housing problems. We give because we have faith that we can bounce back and, as much as we may hate to admit it, we have a bit of unconditional love for ourselves too that always returns us to trusting, loving and believing in the good of humanity and romance. We take more stick because, in that moment we know that the other person needs their pride or their ego or their money, status, perceived looks more than we do in this world. Yes, we have to learn boundaries and we can and do. But we will probably be the first and last person helping you if things go wrong -even if it's your fault and even if you've bullied us and ruined our reputation beforehand. Things here are temporary but the growth and the evolution of the soul can always happen so we help and hope for the best. I've told people who have hurt me and used me "At least you can't say no one's ever loved you and tried and given you a chance!" I think that's something pisces want to make sure everyone on earth can get at LEAST once! There is a quote I believe from the bottom of my heart: "I think we are who we protect". Attacking people who are forgiving, helping and who do not feel it a NECESSITY to shove their looks or talents down your throat or be overly competitive/ambitious, etc. and to bully them and to protect those who hurt them because it is sociably acceptable is very wrong!

Now as I mentioned before of course there are some toxic Pisces. I'd flat out say stay away from them! When a pisces goes dark they are sooo dark -they're over the edge and all of what is suppose to be good qualities is horrible toxicity. They can be the most emotionally and spiritually manipulative, I think, when gone bad so steeer cleear!

If the pisces are just young and think they must tell white lies to keep a guard up or they are going through a crazy emotional phase, it is up to you if you can handle this or if you don't want it in your life. I know I call people on their stuff and I hate lying and don't tolerate it much. However, I do think it is a openhearted and evolved way of loving to let people go through their own process of learning to self protect and to deal with different emotions. If this is harming you personal space or growth I would say to let it go then. Hopefully, you can let go knowing that people just have to learn in their own ways (even though that sucks sometimes lol)

Last note: pisces is the last of the zodiac, home in the karmic 12th house. I have noticed that people who are condescending, prejudice, or bullying of pisces inevitably reach some karmic point in their life where that same pisces is the only person who can/will help them. Sometimes it is in the very same way they tried to destroy the pisces, I.e. female ruining a pisces' reputation and ostracizing her for a long time finally having it blow up in her face and suddenly needing the pisces' forgiveness before she is let back into social graces. Some are much more drastic and some are more simple -but the point is it's humbling to get fed by the hand you've been trying to cripple! Most of those closer to me who have done me horrid have let me know later that they now understand my wisdom and how strong I am.

I just want to state the obvious (and beautiful!) Truth that we pisces aren't the only ones who sacrifice for others and stand up for people who deserve it -let's call NO ONE gentle 'spineless'! "I think we are who we protect" -I gotta put that in my siggy too!

Fyi I've been writing this thread since there was only one response. I'm tired, finishing up being sick and typing this on my mobile. Anything that has come into play since then I was unknowing of!

The most compulsive, grandiose liar I've ever had to deal with was a Leo Sun...
But, I guess if a Leo's going to do it, they're going to do it big

Neptune's Daughter,

My best friend, who I've known almost all my life, is a Pisces. And you described her EXACTLY. I'm thrilled!

She lies occasionally out of necessity. She admits to it. When she describes the situations where she feels compelled to lie...to me, it seems like it was the best choice.

I've got a Pisces moon, though...maybe that makes me biased.

OMG this is a terrible *sweeping statements!* Liars can be seen in ANY sun sign, it all depends on the aspects and my bet would be something like mercury/neptune hard aspects.

Scorpio is (in my mind) the worst at playing mind games, emotional manipulations and stubborn control....

Cancer (like virgo) is a worrier. Perhaps if you knew more astrology, at least the basics you would no doubt change your opinions...

I am actually interested n this placement as well! My sister had a huge faling out with her boyfriend of five years, who, as it turns out, had been deceiving her and talking to other girls, even having mini trips with a few! We recently found out that he has a Pisces ascendant, which might explain the reason why he cannot handle any sort of pressure (he has very low self-esteem) and can hide so so many things, even from those he loves! I know that there are always bad fish in the sea (pun too cheesy to be intended), but might there be something to look at, maybe the negative traits of Pisces? Specifically the ascendant?

Just because you don't understand a certain sign, doesn't mean that they are deficient in the way that you're describing them, ie: You don't understand the depth of their emotions so you presume that they don't have any.

One of my friends is a Pisces and she's nothing short of amazing. She's very intuitive and honest. She's not spineless in the least bit either, but picks her battles wisely. When she feels that someone has insulted her, she'll politely tell them off and won't leave room for them to doubt what's happening.

You really need to look at the aspects in their chart to say that they're spineless or pathological liars. Mercury in harsh aspect to Neptune (a tight orb) could point to the person being a pathological liar. For courage, I think the Sun and Mars are definite factors and their aspects to planets like Pluto, Saturn and to each other can point to how they stand up for themselves.

Also, I know a guy who is a Pisces. Sensitive? Yes, but at the same time I wouldn't cross him. He can take a lot and knows when to put a stop to things. This sign is probably the most misunderstood sign of the zodiac. There's more to the 12th house, Pisces' house, than deceit. Honestly, it has more to do with lessons learned and karma than anything. In my experience with people of this sign, they come off more as old souls than anything else. But then, that's just a generalization......

A great deal of Pisces' perceived "spinelessness" may be a selectively in picking one's battles.

Much of what people "go to war" over just isn't worth it. Many Fish, knowing that most battles are ultimately more destructive than constructive, will chose to wait for something that really matters to them to plant their flag.

All the pisces people I know, have huge tempers and can rip you to shreds with their words..
They have a lot of back bone... Would never back down from a confrontation.

My Pisces girl... OMG I have to stop her from fighting many times... I always get in the middle of her and some girl, and pulling her away.
