You keep looking at it, it gets so big infront of you that it blocks out all the other works of art behind it, around it, and around you.

It hurts, it seems like a big deal, because you’re sitting so close to that painting that that one canvas becomes your world, that is all that you can see, and that is all that you know.

It’s about time now, to stand up and look around the room, it’s a very big room, there are many beautiful paintings.

Sometimes it just takes patience for everything to happen. You won't get respect in just one day, you can't be in love with someone you just met, and you won't be able to forgive yourself in a second. I’ve learned that helping people is good, but helping someone too much won't let them grow. You grow by making mistakes, getting hurt and learning from your regrets. Thoughts are there to help guide you to your decision. It’s you that has to take that first step into the pathway of happiness. It’s your doing that makes you who you are. Don’t assume; get your fact straight. That is what messes a lot of people up. There’s always the true story and reasoning behind everything. We are all different, but have one thing in common, we all want happiness. it is like we're all trying to fight for it, trying to get what we want, and it makes us forget the whole reason why we wanted it in the first place. Nobody said life is going to be easy. life is what you make of it. Don’t be selfish. Don’t limit yourself from doing things just because you don't think you can make it through. Remember, time isn't going to wait for you, so. Make the best of it.

I guess i really liked these because they're easy to relate to. I like how quotes kinda open yur mind a bit and make yu realise things and then yu feel like you can do anything, for a moment.

So I cant relate to that quote. Maybe it's only an aries and sagittarius thing?. Just trying to show different people really kinda do have different perspectives, huh? I am also not a person who likes a lot of attention, so that's prob one of the reasons why im not very driven. I want to be a psychologist. I sing opera but i didnt like it because it's too dramatic--and this is coming from someone with moon, venus and mars in leo. But i have south node in leo so maybe i am done with the drama in this lifetime. I chose jazz over opera bc it's much more low key.

no, what i meant was whenever i wanted to do something people think i can't do it or isn't good enough for it, but because i want it, its a passion, then i'll try my best to be better at it and eventually proving them wrong, i don't want to do things if i don't like it and i don't do things just for the sake of proving someone wrong, that's just so unfair..me thinks, hehe

Oh! This is actually one of my favs

"Dream lofty dreams, for when you dream you become"---so sun trine neptune of me aye. I also have moon square neptune and neptune loosely square asc lol.

I wish in the city of your heart
you would let me be the street
where you walk when you are most
yourself. I imagine the houses:
It has been raining, but the rain
is done and the children kept home
have begun opening their doors.
— Robley Wilson

I used to have so many quotes about life and larger ideas but I don't know what happened to them.

I have a thing for collecting love quotes lol or quotes about feelings.

Yes, I love to read!
But I'm also an emotional person. Maybe it's just my Cancer Moon but I have to be emotionally invested in something to like it.

There are myriad, but the two currently on my FB:
---
When you wish upon a falling star your dreams can come true. Unless it's really a meteorite hurtling to the earth which will destroy all life. Then you're pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for.
Unless it's death by meteor.

Economies are supposed to serve human ends...not the other way round. We forget at our peril that markets make a good servant, a bad master and a worse religion.
- Amory Lovins
____________

The quote that made me fall in love with Lewis Thomas:

What we have been learning in our time is that we really do not understand this place or how it works, and we comprehend our selves least of all. And the more we learn, the more we are - or ought to be - dumbfounded. “ On Matters of Doubt,” in Late Night Thoughts on Listening to Mahler’s Ninth Symphony, p. 157.

(A fantastic collection of essays that's only showing its age a little bit.)

And E.O. Wilson echos the thought:

“Our sense of wonder grows exponentially: the greater the knowledge, the deeper the mystery.” Biophilia, p. 10.

Nice quotes, everyone.
I've enjoyed reading them.

I like these:

quote:
We are not weak, sinful, shameful human creatures who have to somehow earn the right to become Spiritual. We are Spiritual Beings having a human experience.

- Robert Burney

*

quote:
My friends, how desperately do we need to be loved and to love. When Christ said that man does not live by bread alone, he spoke of hunger. This hunger was not the hunger of the body. It was not the hunger for bread. He spoke of hunger that begins deep down in the very depths of our being. He spoke of a need as vital as breath. He spoke of our hunger for love.

Love is something you and I must have. We must have it because our spirit feeds upon it. We must have it because without it we become weak and faint. Without love our self-esteem weakens. Without it our courage fails. Without love we can no longer look out confidently at the world. We turn inward and begin to feed upon our own personalities, and little by little we destroy ourselves.

With it we are creative. With it we march tirelessly. With it, and with it alone, we are able to sacrifice for others.

- Chief Dan George

*

quote:
Music makes me forget my real situation. It transports me into a state which is not my own. Under the influence of music I really seem to feel what I do not feel, to understand what I do not understand, to have powers which I cannot have. Music seems to me to act like yawning or laughter; I have no desire to sleep, but I yawn when I see others yawn; with no reason to laugh, I laugh when I hear others laugh. And music transports me immediately into the condition of soul in which he who wrote the music found himself at that time.

- Leo Tolstoy

ASC Scorpio
Sun Cancer
Moon Sagittarius

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR BECAUSE ONE DAY YOU MIGHT GET IT.

Ha, this may sound a bit "skeptical" at first sight ... but I see a lot of euphoria & grandiosity in it - a large amount of optimism & self-confidence - because it implies that wonderful "YES WE CAN"-idea...

At the same time, there's some more "mature", wise, cool, responsible and cautious element in it.

All of this gives a perfect picture of my personal natal settings:

1st-House-Moon in entrepreneurial, adventurous, optimistic Sagittarius

Neptune cj. ASC in 1st House ("spiritual", supernatural, haha - a strong faith and believe that "everything is possible" - also wishful thinking

ASC in Scorpio - Pluto cj. MC - Pluto charts ruler: strong faith in personal power, in being "in control" or: MUST be in control of everything

Cancer-Sun and Cancer-Mars in (secretive/mysterious) 8th house: the cautious, more wary, "superstitious" side.

Jupiter in 11th house of "high hopes" in Libra - squaring my Cancer-Sun in 8th - buoyant, super-optismistic - sometimes too euphorical ...

I've got a quincunx (exact) between my Cancer-Sun and 1st-House-Moon in Sagittarius (moon also ruled by Cancer) - there's a certain "tension" between these - and this quote says all about it.

TOO many to list. But my current faves are the ones in my sig.

"The better you feel about yourself, the less you feel the need to show off." — Robert Hand (My Leo Moon likes.)

"Cynicism, like gullibility, is a symptom of underdeveloped critical faculties." — Jamie Whyte (Lib AC trine Aqua Jupiter & Gem Chiron)

"I am not absentminded. It is the presence of mind that makes me unaware of everything else." ― G.K. Chesterton (Uranus & Neptune in the 3rd)

And these:

"Bit.ches be crazy!" — WoodysGamertag

↑ (This tickles everything in my chart. )

"If your heart is nowhere in it, I don't want it for a minute." — Sara Bareilles (My Venus in Scorp conj Saturn in Sag, likes.)

Sun in Sag
Moon in Leo
Merc in Sag
Venus in Scorp
Mars in Lib

Loved reading all the quotes!

Libra Sun, Asc, Mercury & Venus
Scorpio Moon
Virgo Mars

quote:
I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naive or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman.
Anais Nin

quote:
Love has the power to overcome all odds. It can even eliminate karma.
Linda Goodman

quote:
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.
Albert Einstein

quote:
Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.
Soren Kierkegaard

Mockingbird, interesting. The pisces and scorpio defibitely show through in what you posted, i think. Especially in the scorpio ascendant and how you revel so much in life's lessons. Pluto is all about life lessons, and pisces is all about life's mysteries. "i believe" And aqua is all about finding out the truth "i know"

i think probably the quote about the government more relates to your aqua, though

Tina and pandacake, not shre how your quotes relate to your placements. Though i did notice the world balance in one of your quotes, pandacake

Yet, libra and libra asc aren't much about moving forward are they? I have a libra asc and you can leave me right here where I am if I'm comfortable in this position thanks very much, I'd rather not get up. Haha.

Stillness
The pendulum at rest:
I am weary of the bombardments.
Tranquil,
I look at the world upside down
From the peephole in my cocoon.

I hang my hopes on stars
And I look ahead to ancient ways.
The primordial rivers course through me
as I silently witness the change

Not a quote, but a poem I like alot.

-Cancer Sun
-Capricorn Moon/Neptune
-Libra ASC
