Thinking about my favorite celebs, their Sun signs are in a different sign or in a different element. I am a Virgo Sun, Pisces Moon, and Capricorn rising. I am very dominant in Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces for signs, and planets Pluto, Saturn, Neptune (according to Pullen's chart delineation).

I have noticed some patterns after looking at my favorite celebrities' birth charts:

Predominant Scorpio influence
Saturn as one of the top 3 planets
Aquarius suns or people with strong Aquarian/Uranian influences; I have Eros in Aquarius conjunct 28 degrees Capricorn ascendant

I think that if someone has a dominant influence in your planets, elements, and/or signs that calls for instant attraction and at times leads to compatibility even when the other planets fall into different signs, elements, and planets.

What do you guys think?

I tend to end up feeling the strongest attraction to men who are very heavy in fire element. Reason being is I have no fire and only have a few things in fire houses.

In friendships I tend to be drawn to air influences. Aquarius seeming to be the most common. Stuff that ends up in trine to my gemini planets.

I have Sagittarius as #1. I have liked quite a few Aries Men and Leo. My current and true love is a Pisces with Mars in Saggitarius.

I guess i'm attracted to fire people then air people. And all my significant friends have had scorpio influences. I guess cos my moon is there. But i mean its so easy to be attracted to them! they're so easy to talk to!

scorpio dominant. i will take anything lol just kidding!

i am not attracted to the scorpio type so much. i think i like air and i have none of that. my juno, nn, chiron, sun/moon midpoints are in gemini. i also have a couple of midpoints in aquarius naturally being taurus-scorpio dominant.

I don't really know about this, but I've noticed people who lack an element are attracted to those who have it strongly in their chart.
But it isn't true for me.
I guess I can be attracted to firey placements (though not any more than to other elements) but it doesn't work. I usually like water/earth/air people a lot more.

People who have strong fire tend to make me feel annoyed/unsafe. Actually maybe that's because they are so different from me and it makes me feel insecure. They have all the traits I don't have and I dislike it. So I prefer to stick with people who have similar energies to mine.
I probably have a lot of things to learn from them though.

Neither for me. Never felt attracted to Air signs. Too superficial in my honest opinion.

I don't use or bother with pullen charts, it's easy to see at a glance what is dominant in your chart particularly if you have a stellium in a sign or house...

there's plenty to learn with the basics..

I actually completely agree with this. While I am attracted to a lot of fire energy in others, I largely, don't know what to do with it. I like things to be very externally planned settled and known, and they are generally much more ok with wishy-washy situations which drive me bonkers. In a romantic partner I need that though, because I usually need a nudge to "let go" in effect, so I allow myself to be drawn in with that.

In the end I am friends with people who have a lot of air and water, and those friendships persist for a long time. Earth heavy people I generally don't mix with. I'll get along with them, but I get incredibly bored with it and end up feeling no connection. I've had a few capricorn heavy friends in the past who lacked a lot of water and they felt really connected to me, but I didn't feel the same about them.

The biggest pattern I have seen is becoming friends with individuals with aquarius/pisces influences. The second is gemini influences. Libra planets I don't seem to have any friends with. Not sure why. I just don't seem to have met many of them.

I mean, this is what synastry is. You look at what you are, you look at your attraction planets/points (Venus, Mars, DSC) and then look at who you are attracted to IRL. I've noticed I like people with Sag, Cap, Aqua, Pisces placements (and then Virgo/Leo). I have Venus in Pisces, Mars in Sag, DSC in Sag conjunct Saturn and Uranus and Neptune in the 7th. Easy to see why I like those kinds of dudes.

But it doesn't seem to be so clear cut like that in real life. I have Virgo Venus, Leo Mars, Taurus Descendant, and I have never dated anyone out of these signs, and I've only very rarely been attracted to Leos here and there (and almost never attracted to other Virgos and Tauruses). Instead, I seem to be more attracted to Scorpios and Aquariuses, probably because they are fixed signs at least. Most fire signs don't hold any allure for me because I have so much fire in my own chart.

See, I actually tend to like the signs with different energy than mine. I lack air and water, but I attract those signs like no other. I am often very attracted to them, and while I also get very annoyed by their tendencies and feel like they are very different from me, I still prefer to have them in my life BECAUSE they are challenging and they see things from a different perspective than me. Maybe this is because I already have lots of squares in my chart as it is... I really don't know.

However, that being said, I tend to do better with someone who has a BASE of something similar in my chart paired with an element that is not heavily in my chart. Soooo... An earth person with air undertones (I usually do best with Cappies with air), or water with fire undertones. That way I still have some common base with them, but they still compensate for the lack of an element in my chart somehow.

I totally see where you're coming from.

I think ultimately people who have balanced elements in them are the best for me, compatibility wise. Strong Pluto energy is a must though, otherwise it feels too shallow, empty and I lose connection. And strong Mercury, cause that's my chart ruler, so I need people who can think for themselves and are able to communicate. The thing is that when you combine Pluto/Mercury (or Scorpio/Gemini) it often makes one very manipulative, and that's what bothers me. But all in all I think those are the most important elements for me, based on my own chart. Quite paradoxically, I do appreciate Venusian traits too.

I'm realizing I sound quite exigent!
I don't actually plan those things though, if I feel chemistry with someone, even if their placements are not that compatible with mine, I don't mind it.

That's interesting.
Maybe you're adaptable and are okay with people who are different from you?
Do you have many mutable placements?

I am not sure that would actually help, I'm just speculating here.

But I don't think the squares would do it, I have many squares and I don't feel that way.

So.. who knows.

After looking over my chart and some of my favorite celebs, I am usually attracted to those dominantly Aquarius, Gemini or Sagittarius. Or Cancer sun signs with sag or aquarius aspects.

synastry is a complex business and whom you are attracted 7th house doesn't necessarily mean THAT sign, just the TRAITS of that sign..

I have a stellium of Sagittarius (Sun,Jupiter,Uranus and Neptune) all in house 8.

According to the Pullen system in astro.com, I am Scorpio dominant with Pluto/Venus tied as my dominant planets.

Am not sure that dominant sign/planet compatibility may be accurate, but I have noticed that a natal chart that looks similar to mine- would make the person compatible to me.

So, for instance, if someone has the same signs as I have but in different planet positions, compatibility is likely i.e

I have a Sun in Sag and they have Mars there and then I have the moon in Cancer, and they have mercury there etc.

I think our personalities would be very similar.

Yes, I do have mostly mutable placements in fact. Only 2 fixed and 2 cardinal. Every thing else is mutable.

I just speculated that it was the squares in my chart, because I keep hearing that people who have hard aspects in their chart often attract other people with lots of hard aspects to their chart. So, I don't know...

I'm aware of that SaggiMC. I was making the point to the other poster that it couldn't JUST be Desc/Venus/Mars sign placements that indicated how synastry was going to work in your chart and that it's not always an indicator of who you are going to be attracted to. Also, I was trying to make the point that not everyone always shies away from the elements that they DON'T have in their charts.

This is an interesting theory. Naturally, my dominant planets are Venus, Sun + Jupiter. Dominants signs are Libra, Sagittarius and Leo. Modes Cardinal, Elements air then fire.
A past crush had Aquarius as their dominant sign and (when looking at his chart, there isnt much aquarius, so this was a surprise) ! and was a Mars dominant.
