Then I apply an herb mint facial mask which I leave on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out, and makes you look older. Then moisturiser, then an anti-ageing eye balm, followed by a final moisturising protective lotion.
Thoughts of christian bale in american psycho come to mind. hehe jk. IP: Logged |

I use Neutrogena (either the pink or green cleanser), sometimes St. Ives tea tree cleanser. Anything with salycilic acid in it.Then pure extra virgin coconut oil (it comes solid but melts easily right on your face and fingers) afterwards on clean, dry face. Let it absorb for a few, then wipe any excess shine off with a tissue. I never have a pimple since i started using it and it helps combat wrinkles too, i've heard. The properties of pure virgin coconut oil (not the liquid, cooking kind) have many antibacterial and antifungal naturally occuring in it, that's why it works great on problem skin. There are other reasons why it's so great for the skin, but i can't remember now. Doing a search will tell you more. I never thought an oil would be so great for skin and not cause breakouts, but it really doesnt. It opens up your pores and helps to coax any residue out as well. It might take a week or two for your face to cleanse itself completely and get used to it, but you will be thankful in the long run. IP: Logged |

Placements? You sound like sb with either venus conjuncting sun tight or sb with heavy virgo and libra haha. I used to do scrub, cleansing milk, toner, moisturiser then serum but too much effort. Now I rather use that time to apply body lotion. Lol twice a day. <3

Bio oil is a great make up remover too. One wipe and all the mascara is gone. I use that as my moisturiser too.IP: Logged |

Just read this over and I like it

I like bathtub scouring powder with bleach. May leave the face a bit red, but the skin is smooth and definitely clean. IP: Logged |

i've tried a lot of natural products as I am a natural health&beauty consultant by trade. I don't use most of them as they break out my skin (which is super-oily). I think natural products are best but they don't work for everyone, particularly skin that is really oily. Tea tree oil is a miracle worker for many but it works only 1/2 the time for me. I think Mario Badescu's drying lotion is the best for clearing up spots/pimples. I like Mychelle products and I still use their Pumpkin peel, I like Dr. Hauschka's masks and Cleansing Cream which I use every so often. Aubrey's oily skin moisturizer works well for me but is *so* drying it causes my skin to flake like crazy. As an everyday cleanser I like Cetaphil. Once a week I use the Dermalogica gentle cream exfoliant. My Mars is in Pisces. IP: Logged |

Thank u for sharing ITMS I noticed u mentioned cetaphil, I actually use benzac ac 5. I have to use it everyday. For me it's a life saver. I just had an aloe Vera mask then washed with lever 2000 and then some benzac I can't live without it. IP: Logged |

I used to use I think 3% or 5% benzac for acne, too. It worked well but I didn't like how it would cause my forehead to flake, and it is a pain the way it would stain clothing and towels. Now that my acne has cleared I try to use more gentle products. Try some of the products I've mentioned as they are working for me. My skin is still oily (I take care of that with oil blotting sheets by boscia--clean&clear or CVS brand are cheaper alternatives I've used in the past), but I haven't had a serious breakout in about 2 years. I still get the occasional hormonal/stress breakout but it is nothing to whine about. And I breakout from products I use from time to time because I have to try a lot for work. lately i've been giving them to friends and family to try instead. IP: Logged |
