Just wanted to start another Art Thread (original - http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/209192.html ) This time choose an art piece that relates to any placement/aspect in Your 0wn chart.
____________________________________________________________________________________

I ♥ this piece, reminds me of my Pisces moon 12H and Pisces ASC
"Intuitive, Emotional, Imaginative, Psychic"

Monet is my favorite.

Reflects my Pisces ASC, Gemini Moon in 3rd House and Cancer North Node in 5th House water influence, and my Capricornian conservative tastes, with Capricorn Sun in 10th House, Capricorn Mars and Capricorn Mercury in 11th House, ruled by Saturn in 12th House.

I cried when I was first in the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aeqxu88jHPA

Of course, Monet was a Scorpio Sun and Cancer Moon, so the water influence is evident.

NC Wyeth, whose NN is conjunct mine.

He's the father of Andrew Wyeth:

I also love Charlie Russell's cowboy pictures- they remind me of Montana, where I used to go on vacation. This one's called Laugh Kills Lonesome:

Moonfish, I what you posted!

YTA, Monet was my Dad's favorite artist, too. I have one of the water lillies paintings (not original ) in my dressing closet.

Monet's sun is conjunct my NN.

I spent a lot of time at the Philadelphia Museum of Art growing up.

This was my favorite painting at that museum, Mystery and Melancholy of a Street:

I'm a Cap sun, Pisces moon. Maybe someone can tell by looking at that painting.

^ Thank you. Yes, I pay a lot of attention to the nodes...interestingly, NC Wyeth had a son born July 12th and then I did, too. And our sons look alike, with curly blondish hair.

NC died tragically, though...his car stalled on the train tracks and he and his cute 3 year-old grandson were hit by an oncoming train.

So I hope our similarities don't go that far.

Your welcome :]
hey don't think like that, one or even a few aspects to the node shouldn't determine something like that

You're right, I won't be scared of trains

Glad you like the DiChirico painting...I agree about the earthy and flowy. I used to LOVE that painting, now it seems kind of depressing!

My mother died when I was 14, maybe I was still in quiet mourning when I was staring at the picture. Hmmm.

Faith,

Thanks for sharing.

I have three replica paintings (they are definitely pho-ed and zero chance of being original) of water lilies, designed to look exactly like the originals with museum frames, with phoe-ed signatures. And I have two large framed posters. They are all in my male den room.

I also have pho-ed Van Goghs sunflowers and flower garden Monets in my dining room.

I really like some of Maxfield Parrish's work. This one *feels* like my vir/pis sun/moon opposition;

And I have LOVED Edward Gorey since I was a child. One of my faves;

Lovely!

to the Van Gogh sunflowers, too.

I bought a print of this Van Gogh at the Louvre when I was sixteen and had it on my wall through college:

Would you say Salvador Dali also fits, somewhat?

I love all Escher pics .. and this one is my favorite.. THE ENDLESS STAIRCASE!

He has Sun/Moon/Mercury/Neptune/Pluto in Gemini and ASC. Leo (right on my Sun).

He also has his Pluto pretty exact on his Sun/Moon midpoint, like myself.

In my case; I have Mercury right on my ascendant and a Neptune/Saturn opposition which squares my Merc-asc/desc axis.

Parrish is also a Philadelphia-area artist. He and NC Wyeth (whom I mentioned above) both worked with illustrator Howard Pyle...though Parrish took off and is by far the most famous of the bunch now.

I didn't know that about Parrish... I like his use of light. And yes, Salvador Dali fits (dark piscean vibe). I went through a Dali phase in college. My boyfriend & I decorated our apartment with Dali prints, and I remember we also had M.C. Escher's Relativity (funny that Mir posted Escher!) Sadly, every time I see anything by Dali, I think of that ex. Kind of took the joy out of it for me.
