Hi everyone,

I'm wondering how you manifest your north node qualities now, or how visualize life at your north node.

My north node is in the third decan of Scorpio, described this way:

quote:
The third, Cancer/Moon decan of Scorpio Here in the third and last lunar decan of Scorpio the influence will produce people of great emotional integrity, trusting every feeling they have and seldom willing to compromise, at least against any cold dead reason. They have great drive and will power if they believe in a cause, and can overcome potential feelings of inferiority. At heart they want dramatic emotional transformation, and a partner to connect with intimately and deeply. One to whom they can say, as Joni Mitchell does, ”I wanna renew you again and again”. Very protective and caring. They are extremely crafty and cunning, with a knack for getting to the heart of any matter.

All decans listed here: http://www.astroroom.com/astrology-decans.html

When I am composed, reserved, relying on my intuition, and creating a beautiful life to share freely with others, I feel like I have "arrived."

How about you?

True Node description:

"The second, Aries/Mars decan of Sagittarius This second, Martian decan of Sagittarius completely needs challenge and discovery, and may the be the most naturally frank and lacking in artifice of all zodiac decans. Headstrong and brave, they quickly lose interest in whatever fails to inspire them. If these people aren’t sports-people, they probably have some other similar channel for the release of their great spiritual-physical energy. They are the perfect example of the soldier of the mind and spirit, if there is such a thing. Nevertheless they can be so blunt and lacking in social nuance that others grow tired. Some of them don’t have the patience enough to do anything but venture onto some new exciting project and tell everybody about it. "

Mean node description:
"The first, Jupiter decan of Sagittarius The first Jupiter decan of Sagittarius is typically the non-conformist who goes on to become a respected citizen with academic or social responsibility. These people are adventurous, positive and very direct. In fact rather tactless. They’re lovers of action but more than often have high intellectual, political or artistic ambitions. They are sweeping, broad learners and youthful, eternal students. Yet might also be the dogmatic teacher or preacher. As partners or lovers they are giving and adventurous, enthusiastic and romantic. Jupiter tends to bring these people luck and fortune in life, if they refrain from worrying and simply give in to the hands of fate. Also they have an inclination and often talent for for risk-taking, speculation and gambling."

Interestingly the True Node description does not fit. The Mean Node one describes me much better, esp. the first paragraph, minus the bluntness/ being tactless.

^ North node is given on your chart if you pull it up at astro.com.

It's called the True Node.

Some background:

quote:
The Dragon's Head (North Node):
The Dragon's Head represents your karmic objectives in this lifetime. It points the way towards soul growth and evolution. The sign holding your Dragon's Head reveals the flavour of your karma in this lifetime, while its house placement shows the area of life in which you need to develop, or become conscious of this karma. Aspects to the North Node concern or affect relationships to prevailing trends, attitudes and opportunities. Some modern astrologers hold that we should try to "actualise" the North Node at the expense of the South Node (!), but in reality the two nodes are like two sides of the same coin, just like the yin and yang of the Tao. The Dragon's Head does mark sets of circumstances that are in some way new or unfamiliar, an exploratory course that leads to the realisation of the desires and past-life commitments expressed by the placement of the Dragon's Tail.
Positive aspects to the Dragon's Head are generally favourable from the benefics (Venus and Jupiter), Sun, Moon and Mercury, whilst sextile or trine from Mars, Uranus, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto also have beneficial effects. Square and opposition from the benefics and conjunction, square and opposition from the malefics (Mars and Saturn; Uranus) are unfortunate, according to the matters signified by the house and planet concerned.

Ceridwen, I feel like I'm looking a one of those "spot the differences" puzzles. What about the Mean Node is more fitting?

quote:
The second, Virgo/Mercury decan of Taurus The Virgo influenced second decan Taurus people often have a great sense of tact, and an incredibly fine tuned sensory apparatus. Careful in speech and musical in voice, they can be a quiet charmers, seemingly shy but unlikely to pass up what they set their minds to. There is grace, and more flexibility than Taureans in general. However, they can also bore people with a sometimes overly realistic and pragmatic world view. The streak of cynicism is never quite far away for their part, and they don’t keep much restraint in pointing out the faults of people around them. Many are culinary aristocrats. There is little in the professional life or day-to-day living that they cannot handle, given enough time and the right means.

My NN is exactly conjunct Venus in the 5th. I also have a Virgo Moon. I love being of service to others. Perhaps my NN is pulling me to find a creative way to be of service to others without neglecting myself.

Faith, my north node is in the cancer decan of scorpio as well. For a very long time, dare I say it, I think I was quite materialistic. I've spent huge amounts of money on "things" that mean nothing. I've always been a compassionate person, but I put way too much focus on having the house I wanted, cars, the savings account, etc.(Taurus south node.) I feel like I finally started "arriving" at my Scorpio North Node about 3 years ago. My husband and I decided to cash out, get out of the rat race, and buy a small house on a small piece of property and are working towards living a self-sustaining life. We're debt free, growing our own food, and attempting to learn to build our own solar panels to get off the grid someday. For the first time ever, I have truly started feeling good about how I'm living my life. That's how the "arrival" has felt for me.

Me, too! 'So much less materialistic than I used to be, and I have "a little house in the big woods"

Ultimately I want to go off grid and be completely self-sustaining...my husband shares this goal, his NN is in the second decan of Scorpio.

Cheers to a fellow homesteader

I am a Aquarius North Node 1st decan
The first, Uranus/Saturn decan of Aquarius The first decan of Aquarius is complex and individualistic in effect. These people are free thinkers and non-conformists who still have an active moral consciousness and desire to benefit the community in some way. In spite of being highly socialized and group-oriented, they can long for solitude, and be sombre in mood and depressed while displaying a joyful exterior. You'll almost never find one of these people stupid or mentally simple - even with very limited education they manage to seem insightful, impartial and reasonable. They can be calculating and cold and aren't ideally suited for deep emotional commitment. Money and status are seldom a goal in itself. They want meaningfulness.

I have a Leo north node 2nd Gemini decan
North Node in the 8th House

The universe is encouraging you to play up your North node sign traits in these areas of life.
Consider the following: bond with another person and experience real intimacy. You may even meet a kindred soul that feels like a "soul-mate."
Become open to accepting the resources, or even the moral support that others give you. Learn to deal with issues concerning inheritance, or your partner's finances.
Major lifestyle transitions can happen. You'll discover that drastic changes beyond your control often bring rejuvenation to outworn situations and therefore, a new lease on life.
Pay attention to your dreams; they often contain psychic insights that can be pertinent to waking life scenarios. Keep a dream journal by your bedside to record impressions upon waking.

The 2nd decan of Gemini is Phoenix.

It is an armed male decan ruled by Venus.

A belligerent man with a bow and arrow is standing in his garden. He has a large nose and his thoughts are on his sons, jewelry, gambling, and his own advantage.

Faith, very cool that your husband shares your goal! Actually, my decision to give it all up, intially, was because my husband was so unhappy. HE didn't know why he was unhappy, but I knew we had to change something, anything, and ultimately, it was what we both needed.

By sign only tells you 1/3 of the story, the house tells another and lastly aspects.

I only relate to perhaps half of my scorpio 19' Node in 10th house. This house is ultimately what you become *known for* and hopefully it will be astrology.

something that is all consuming, enjoys digging deap, unravelling hidden mysteries. Pluto ruler of Node is well aspected is late 7th conj 8th house with jupiter in virgo. So details, details and details, extremely analytical....

My North Node's sabian is 'An Easter Promenade' and it falls in my sixth house. So far I've noticed when I fast and take care of my health my spiritual life expands. Except I keep falling off track by not exactly being as pure as I should. However being unpure brings me a great deal of pain and longing so at this point I have decided to become 100 pure.

I don't know what my future is exactly, but I know once I pass this final test, (because i honestly think health is my last karmic spiritual test) i will ascend.

“Progressions and transits to the natal Nodes invariably signify major releases of energy, related to the planet in question and the house activated thereby. The transiting nodes also have a remarkably powerful effect whenever they pass over a natal planet or other chart factor, such as the Part of Fortune (material wellbeing), the ascendant/descendant cusps (self vs other) or the MC/IC (public/career vs private/domestic). The Dragon's Tail in particular seems to mark relationships with a genuinely karmic quality, often signifying the emergence (and sometimes finalising) of commitments from the deep past. The Dragon's Head is more concerned with activating or energising personal ambitions, aims and developing purposes.” http://www.astrologycom.com/nodes.html

My North Node is in Cancer in my 5th House. Its focused on my sons and my family life.

My children are everything I've wanted in life since I was a very young kid.

Cancer is very opposite Capricorn, and the 5th House is sort of opposite my 10th House where my Sun sits, but I guess my career gives me the resources to take care of my family.

thanks! never thot to do decans on my NN!

Gemini decans

The first, Mercury decan of Gemini First decan Geminis are observers and curious seekers, always ready to be distracted by a marvelous scenery, an interesting thought or entertaining conversation. Typically intelligent in a rapid, logical and detached way, they are still sometimes at loss in applying their fine minds to deeper thought or powerful, systematic reasoning. These people can easily become the life of the party, and they share a great love of light social situations where the people are many and the demands are low. Many feel depressed about getting older, sort of a Peter Pan syndrome, and indeed do have an eternal youthfulness over them. The are perceptive and shrewd, but often emotionally shallow.

^ugh maybe i shouldn't have lol!

btw is it common to have an unaspected north node?

^ I think the point is to just embody the GOOD aspects of your north node.

My understanding is that some of the negatives show up in the course of your evolution but can be overcome.

i think this is for my true node. like the one regularly calculated on astro.com if you don't touch anything.

PHASE 67 (GEMINI 7°): A WELL WITH BUCKET AND ROPE UNDER THE SHADE OF MAJESTIC TREES.

KEYNOTE: Man's primordial faith in the hidden sustaining power of life.

In contrast with the ambitious drive of modern man for power and wealth we now have the image of the eternal search for that which is at the root of all living processes, i.e. water. This search also demands some effort — raising the water-filled bucket — but it is a simple natural effort under the shade of trees which attest to the presence of the life-giving fluid. This presence depends on the cooperation of sky (rain) and earth (the geological formation able to hold the water), and man must develop the intuitive sense which enables him to feel this presence and to make it effectual in his daily life. He must sense the hidden reality which preserves for the use of all living organisms this gift of the "sky," the bounteous rain.

At this second stage of the fourteenth five-fold sequence of symbols, the power of the collective and bio-spiritual energies which sustain all earth-rooted cultures is stressed, in contrast to whatever the technological mind of man can make available to increase his personal comfort and mastery over matter. The symbol implies A FUNDAMENTAL TRUST IN AND COOPERATION WITH LIFE.

this one is my mean node just a degree away.

PHASE 68 (GEMINI 8°): AROUSED STRIKERS SURROUND A FACTORY.

KEYNOTE: The disruptive power of the ambitious mind upon the organic wholeness of human relationship.

We are dealing in this sequence of symbols with man's discovery of the new powers residing in his special contribution to the total organism of this planet Earth — his consciousness and aggressive mind. The first stage (Phase 66) dealt with oil, the typical form of energy which the modern mind has made available. (These symbols were revealed before atomic energy was even thought of as a practical possibility.) Now we see in this new symbol a pictorial indication of what the use of this intellect-generated energy inevitably leads to: industrial unrest and violence. As man manages to rape the earth in order to demonstrate his power and intensify his pleasures and his sense of proud mastery, conflicts and disruptive processes are inevitably initiated.

The arousal is presented to us here in its collective social form because we have reached the emotional-cultural level. The type of power generated by the analytical intellectual faculties is essentially disruptive; it is based on the destruction of matter, and invites egocentric hoarding and spoliation — and, in general, privileges of one kind or another. This leads to a REVOLT AGAINST PRIVILEGES.

That makes more sense than a lot of the readings I'm finding on the internet.
