I can't speak for all Geminis, but if a particular subject interests me, then I can focus my attention on that subject for several hours. I'll think quite deeply about a subject as a result and can become quite obsessed about learning as much as possible.

As for superficial conversations...well, it depends on the situation. If I'm out hanging with my friends, I'm going to keep the conversation light and humorous. It is not necessary to have deep philosophical discussions about the meaning of life if you are goofing off with your friends.

Now if a friend were seeking my advice or needed a shoulder to cry on, I obviously would add more depth to the conversation.

Another element is I have "two shells "a superficial shell and a loyal shell.

The loyal shell is for people close to me the superficial shell is for coworkers and people that I have to deal with but don't know me 100%.

I know Aquarius are the same, unless you really know them they wouldn't share there deep emotions unless your really close. At that point you know really know there your friend.
