Hi Ami,

As always, love reading what you have to offer. I personally believe your theory about Planets conjunct MC are actually descriptions of those planets unanspected. I have an Unaspected Sun, and your description of Sun conjunct MC fit me to a T.

I know quite a few planet-conjunct-MCers, and their expression of those planets have been pretty evident since childhood. In your example, I believe it's the Unaspected Moon that caused him/her not to be able to express his/her lunar qualities.

I have both Venus and Chiron conjunct MC. The definitions are spot on. My pain wasn't dismissed though. Instead, I was preached at from the soap box about how strong and tough I was until the survivor mentality became so ingrained in me that I couldn't recognize my abusive marriage for what it was.

I also have a hard time flying under the radar no matter how I try, and have to deal with peoples' projections towards me - good or bad.

In my day job, I'm currently being hazed a bit by a co/worker and for the life of me, I can't figure out why because we've never had a cross word or disagreement about anything.

I'm also a professional photographer and by definition, we're supposed to be part of the background. Impossible, no matter what I do or how quiet I am. It's maddening sometimes. Lol

That unaspected moon person person is me lol
Good point Alaz and thank you. I put up my articles and eagerly wait discussion!

The planet conj the MC WOULD be opposed to the IC by definition. I was thinking of this as the reason the person could not express the planet in childhood. What do you think Alaz?

YES Jojo
You just answered something big for me. I constantly get people's projections on me. What is it? The unaspected planet conj the MC?

I bet it is this--not just a planet conjunct the MC per se.
What do you all think?

Wow, excellent article, Ami.

This is really speaks to me, as both my Moon and Pluto in Scorpio are conjunct my MC.

I think your theory really holds weight: I certainly wasn't allowed to own my power in my childhood. It was constantly taken away from me by both my mother and stepfather in various ways, even as I began reaching young adulthood. I also wasn't 'taken care of' properly. Sure, I had all my material necessities (food, shelter, clothing, etc.) but my emotional needs were very neglected. I think both mom and stepdad are narcissists (in the clinical definition) and so there has been plenty of harshness and trauma surrounding the IC for me.

But, yes, I have come to own these planets as I've grown up. Not just my Moon and Pluto, but my Scorpio energy as a whole. I LOVE these placements because there is such an impetus to use them toward the outer world. Angular planets (especially on the Ascendant or Midheaven) just have to be expressed.

Now I do feel like I've found real purpose: my Moon conjunct MC could be why I'm so passionate about being an actor and how my work really feeds me emotionally. I also like being a warm and responsive person for others to come to. Pluto on the MC allows me to act as my own authority: not controlled or cowered by anyone. I am always truly in charge, even in a situation with a boss. I have the choice to stay or to leave and I don't see it as being controlled but as working together with someone (albeit someone of higher rank). I've always had to curb my own control freak tendencies and it helps by recognizing that I never want to be treated that way so I shouldn't be tyrannical with others.

I also feel like my Scorpio energy is very out in the open because of this configuration. It always has been really. I've always been seen as intense in some way and always have had intense reactions to me, positive or negative. But, since I am transmuting this energy toward positivity, I'd like to think that the Scorpio in me is having a more positive effect on others than destructive.

Ami, you talked about MJ in a previous post - I really think that what we, as public saw was Chiron closely conjunct his MC. It really makes sense - Chiron was in Aqua, if I'm not mistaken.
Let me see if I can find a good article I once read on this.

Neptune in 4th House – angular house
Strong unconscious emotional ties with home and family. Confused family relationships and sometimes chaotic domestic environment. Often feel sorry for strangers, animals and offer ¬accommodation. Beachcombers. Sacrifices in the home (parents) Mystery concerning early life. Deception. Over idealise mothers perhaps disillusionment. Possibly put mother on a pedestal missing parent! doubts about roots! Abandoned, adopted, or even left in a plastic bag. Very much eggshell area and therefore sensitive. Neptune the ‘great dissolver’ can literally dissolve connections to family

So what kind of links or connections to family members do you have? do you saturn or anything else in 4th?

I would agree that I probably struggled with my sense of self and my awkward social graces when I was a kid. I was very quiet and shy to start with (which is the opposite of me now). However, with those planets being on the MC, it doesn't matter how much I struggled to blend in, I couldn't. I was always a controversial figure to others (in childhood and also now as an adult) even when I tried SO HARD to just be like everyone else or at least to hide my different/controversial thoughts about the world... I just couldn't. People would make grand assumptions about my character that weren't (aren't) true. It was a lot for a kid to deal with.

But... Maybe not more than anyone else??? I really don't know. Not sure it always fully had to do with my luminaries conjuncting my MC. However, the feeling there was and always has been that I just GET NOTICED wherever I go, even if I'm trying to keep myself out of other people's business. And the irony is, I usually AM trying to keep myself out of everyone else's business, but I keep getting dragged back in because of assumptions (or projections) on the part of others about what I'm thinking/feeling/doing.

Let me put it this way: I've lost friends who thought I was a snob because I was smart and quiet (this was when I was a kid). I've lost roommates because they thought I secretly hated them based on false gossip they had heard (not even remotely true and could have been remedied easily if they had TALKED to me). I've lost partners/potential partners due to the fact that they thought I was a weak and submissive personality that they could push their own personalities onto (quiet strength is NOT a sign of weakness people; it just meant I refused to use their tactics to get my point across).

Essentially, having planets on the MC, to me, is like being a giant movie projector screen for everyone else to project their own stuff on to. That being said, I'm more than sure I've had people project POSITIVE things onto me as well, but they aren't as noticeable because the negative projections are what messes things up. The concept of ME seems to be polarizing without my meaning it to be.

Does that make sense? That's just been my experience of it though. I can't really speak for anyone else.

how interesting (astrologically of course) that you had to go through this. What sign is your MC in and what aspects do venus and sun have please?

control freak is definately a word I would use for scorpio planets/MC but you also said, "there is such an impetus to use them toward the outer world" now impetus is not a word I would associate with a fixed sign like scorpio, maybe cardinal signs

Moon conj MC have you had lots of changes with work, career?? as moon shows where we have lots of restlessness and seek what nurtures us. It sounds wonderful that acting gives you this? what kind of acting, someone deep, dark highly emotional, possibly deals with traumatic taboos, is what I picture scorpio MC doing??

could be wrong, but wait with interest..

I had the pain dismissed by most people but my father was one person who took care of me...my Venus is in the fourth, and he was very "Venusian."

Still, he wanted me to just be strong. When my mother was dying when I was 14, it was understood that everyone would feel better if I didn't talk or cry about it.

I actually got lockjaw and had to pry my mouth open manually every morning while she was dying. Couldn't speak. I felt like, if I spoke, everyone would just say, "Tough luck" and move on.

My friends had no idea my mother was that ill because I never said one thing.

Not trying to bring in a pity party, but to illustrate how drastic Chiron/MC can be.

Hi Ami, it was actually enchantress299 who first talked about other people's projections when she said:

Her posting gave me the epiphany about the projections I receive. It seems to me that the common denominator is the Venus/MC conjunction. I'm not sure if my Venus is really unaspected because it's conjunct Lilith at 3°24 and sits on my MC at 0°57, both in Aries.

I don't know if this matters or not, but my Saturn is at 0°7'21" Aries, so even though Saturn doesn't conjunct my Venus/Lilith/MC, it's still got to be a factor since it's at the critical degree, right?
