lol! Gems are a real puzzle. They love other Gems (mutable people), but they also love fixed people? Must be the dichotomous thing, being two people in one.

Related to this I find Paul Westran`s research on progressed synastry very interesting as well.

I've got Moon and Venus in Sag but I've never been attracted to Sagittarius ladies it's funny but I am usually only attracted to Cancer Suns/asc and Scorpio Suns/asc ladies.

That is really fascinating! I have no idea how to calculate a progressed synastry chart, though? For this I guess you'd need a seasoned astrologer? Unless there is free software somewhere online...

^ I think you just compare the progressed charts of the two people between themselves, and with the natals.

You can have your progressed chart at astro.com, in the Extended Chart Selection.

How does it work? Do you select today's date? Does this mean your Venus sign can entirely change?

Check this article by Dawn Bodrogi, she explains the Progressed chart very well (it's long though): http://theinnerwheel.com/2009/10/17/the-chart-workshop-the-progressed-chart-confusion/

If you want to get your progressed chart, just go to the Extended Chart Selection on astro.com, and in Methods, scroll down to "Progressions"; you can choose either the progressed chart alone, the progressed chart with the natal chart, or them combined with the transits.

This progressed chart stuff is difficult for me to wrap my head around. What matters most with progressed synastry, Venus or the sun? I can't imagine that I'm now a Pisces and he is now a Cappy, lol. According to our progressed charts his Venus is in Aqua and mine is a Pisces/Aries cusp. Totally bizarre!

Oh, I know what you mean!

It can be quite confusing.

But, what you need to look at is the rulers of the houses, especially.

So, for a relationship, look at the ruler of the DSC, and what it does in your progressed chart. Then look at the aspects it makes to your natal placements, and to the planets transiting.

Venus is usually an indicator for romance, also, of course!

But the Moon and Mars, for example, can be important factors too.

I think the Sun wouldn't necessarily point to a romantic event, unless it rules your 5th, 7th or maybe 8th house.

Oh and of course, look at the angles!
ASC/DSC connections are very important.

Hope this helps!

Johnny Depp is in a long term marriage with a Capricorn woman & his Moon is in Cap.

You can't really compare whether Sun signs or Moon signs are more significant based on this research... because he didn't look at Moon signs.

Thank you for this! This is extremely helpful. Do I look at the ruler of my descendant now (according to the sign it is in my natal chart) or the ruler of my/our descendants in the progressed chart and the aspects it makes? I apologize if this is a stupid question!

So, just to confirm, I am comparing ASC/DSC in the progressed chart to placements in my NATAL chart, right?

This isn't a stupid question at all!

You still use the rulers of the natal chart.
I think the progressed rulers have an effect but it is probably not as strong, more like an underlying energy.

And yes, you can compare a lot of things from the progressed to the natal, usually something important will show up if you've had an important event in your life.

Well, what I found is that the ruler of my progressed DSC, Uranus, is currently forming a tight orb conjunction with his natal Sun, and the sun happens to be the ruler of HIS descendant. Also that my progressed sun is currently squaring his natal sun.

We also currently have an exact conjunction between his progressed Mars and my natal Venus.

This is really fascinating stuff

The Venus/Mars exact conjunction will begin to wane in 2018, after which time his progressed Venus will begin moving towards an exact conjunction with my natal Venus, lol. I think we're good for awhile

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain it to me! And the links were also hugely helpful. I am very intrigued with progressed synastry!

I know we talk a lot here about overall chart synastry - with good reason - and while nobody is just their "sun sign," I have to admit that from my personal experience, every relationship I had with an "incompatible" sun sign was < 5 months, and my only long-term relationships were with a trine sun and currently/ongoing, a sextile sun.
But I have a stellium in my sun sign, so maybe it's just me, maybe that causes me to really identify with my sign. But personally, I would never date an incompatible sun sign again.

Leo Sun Female here.

Libra Male 1048
Scorpio Male 1032
Taurus Male 1013
Leo Male 1013
Virgo Male 1008
Gemini Male 998
Cancer Male 994
Capricorn Male 987
Pisces Male 977
Sagittarius Male 951
Aries Male 937

Hmmmm fits at some areas but not others.

I'm really attracted to Virgo Sun men with Leo moon but this chart just doesn't show that.
