well.... i got very confused today XDi have an astrology program (astrowin)
and i discovered that it also does strength calculations for planets,sign and they came out differently then the pullen report does anybody know how this could happen? (i checked location,date and birth time so that isnt the issue) IP: Logged |

It seems that there are several methods when it comes to calculating the dominant panets/signs.So it's not surprising that you come up with different results depending on the method you (or the program) use. Ultimately you're the one who knows best what energies are dominant in your personality. IP: Logged |

It does count ASC but it takes other elements into account more so such as your ASC ruler and what sign/house its in and what aspects it makes. I'm a Gem Rising too but Gem isn't very strong in my chart... my Mercury is in Aquarius conjunct Sun in the 9th and Sag/Aqua are the strongest signs according to this method.

I'd heard before that I was Pluto (and Mars) dominant, but since my Mercury is in Pisces, I'd always assumed my Mercury was weak. My dominant signs are not a surprise - Aries, Scorpio, and Pisces...I think I relate to the Aries and Pisces energy the most, definitely. I think part of it is that a lot of us have Pluto in Scorpio. I've also noticed a fair number of people with Pluto in the 8th. In any case, a strong 8th house emphasis or planets in Scorpio (especially Pluto) are going to boost Scorpio's power in one's chart. I think the fact that many of us have Pluto in Scorpio plays a big role because it's in its own sign, so it automatically gains power.
However I'm pretty sure that unless you have another planet in Scorpio (or heavy Pluto contacts) you won't be that affected.

Have you looked at the orbs?
Sometimes the orbs are too wide but the aspects are still taken into account. If you can't feel them, they're probably not affecting you. IP: Logged |

I feel the Mercury square Mars - sometimes I can be too aggressive when making my point (I thought this was exclusively because my Mars/aggressive energy is in the dogmatic, opinionated sign of Sag).

We're on the same mental wavelength.  I have an empty 8th house, but Pluto and Saturn are in Scorpio. In addition, my Pluto makes an exact trine to my Sun and exact sextile to Neptune. Strong ass Scorpionic aspects going on there. IP: Logged |
