My friend's ma has this, in Libra, and omg she's amazing. She has a strong personality (as in her will often overpowers the wills of others) and she doesn't put up with any bull sh!t.

But my friend describes her as a vampire, 'cause she's magnetic and charming, and if people get pulled in too far, they end up getting drained in serving her...

these can be very good people who lead the way for moral beauty-are pillars of strength or can be very mean, nasty people you NEVER wanna deal with. people that do really dirty things that could wind them up in prison... bad people.

I have this aspect, but it's at a very wide orb. I like to think it still applies. I also have Sun in Scorpio though.

My 18 y.o. little sister has Sun exactly conjunct Pluto in Scorpio. It makes me a little bit scared for her, but I think our family karma is Plutonic anyway. My mother has Pluto conj. Mars in Leo, which in our synastry is conjunct my Sun. I have Sun in the 8th, Mars conj. Jup. in Scorp and Pluto conj. MC. My lil Sis also has Venus, Merc, and Jupiter in Scorp. So far, she's a pretty well-rounded girl. I've been wondering how this is all going to play out. I've noticed that she is a drain on our mother. Our mom has bent over backwards to support her in her sporting and horseriding endeavors, which has pretty much broke the bank.
I know it's stupid, but I'm totally jealous about it. I never played sports, I never got the horse I begged for, I didn't get to grow up with my Dad, wah wah. I've brought this up to mom, and her argument was (I'm not kiddding here-no exaggeration) "I spent money on you! I bought you school clothes!" And she's so emphatic about the cost of my school clothes (we shopped at Ross for crying out loud) that I can't carry the argument any further. The funny thing is, when I was 15 my Dad re-entered my life on the condition that he didn't owe any more backed-up child support payments. He started taking me to Goodwill, and that was where I got all of my school clothes from then on - I LOVE Goodwill. She didn't even try to save money in that dept.
Anyway, my little sister is very slick at getting other people to use their resources to benefit her (she has no 8th house placements).

Think of a Scorpio woman.
Take away all the petty BS that you usually think of when you hear that sign.
And turn it up a hundred notches.
Pluto does not screw around so she's had to deal w. hard losses on a personal level, with repression of her sexuality perhaps, with the overpowering influence of her father (whether or not he was around). A lot is bound up with the father w.this aspect. He gives her his power, he hands it down to her but what does she do with it. And more importantly did something screw up that process. Because if he wasn't as strong as she thought he should have been, if he abandoned her, then she's in for some hard lessons in relationships. She'll have problems relinquishing control, being vulnerable in relationships. They like to put on tough airs sometimes, or alternately a kooky/comedic air so that other people can't see into them, this is one way they mine for info 'on the sly', but they are v.fragile inside. They need strong partners who they can feel safe enough to open up to. A lot really depends on the relationship w.the father. Intuit it from that point, along w.the sign & other aspects. And also look at Mars and Saturn for more info on the masculine - mars/paternal - saturn influence in the chart. And look at the ruler of that conj & what it's doing in the chart. See if she's escaped his grip or if she's living in his shadow. They can have strong relationships w.their dads, but as adults, they need to learn to be solid/self-sufficient on their own. Steal some of his power for themselves, sometimes their dads die or like I said abandon the family while they're still relatively young so that this can take place. The danger of a woman having this aspect is for her to project it onto the men in her life. Sure she could be associated w.their power/influence/renown, and personally benefit from it, but she loses something core about herself in the process. I've seen this happen to Sun conj Pluto women and they are lost. The earlier a woman with this conj figures it out, the better.

I relate very strongly to this Lonake. Very insightful, I am marvelling at you. I have Sun conjunct Pluto. Saturn and Mars don't help either.

Definitely the former in my case, I wouldn't harm a fly.

Thank you very much, Lonake! I can't say that I'm too familiar with your posts, but what you wrote above re: Sun conjunct Pluto struck me as very well-researched and thorough. I actually wanted to ask you what you made of a few aspects in my own chart, but decided otherwise... If you'd be willing, however, let me know! I have so many theories that I am always itching to contemplate with other Astrology aficionados. ;-)

PS: I hope AmiAnne saw my post!

I agree with the criminal element, there was an astrologer who did an audio tape of sun pluto aspects, I cant remember his name off the top of my head. He stressed the possible criminal elements. I have never been a criminal myself, but have seemed to attract and be surrounded by them my whole life.
Also I have an ability to magnetize in some way that I can get my way or whatever I want out of people just like a previous poster was talking about her little sister. I seem to have a strong power to influence, but im not even sure of how I am doing it. My older sister was always jealous of this. Even as a child I seemed to have a power over my parents than vice versa.

Boy, Scrappy
That is some hard set of circumstances. My Aunt has Sun conj Pluto in cancer in the 4th house and her life seemed easy. I don't know.

I have sun conjunct pluto and I really don't relate to the darker side of this aspect. I do see that others see a certain power in me but I have a hard time believing it. For me, this aspect makes me very inclined to get down to the nitty gritty. I don't like superficial people and situations and I have a strong psychological bent always probing, researching myself and others with regard to motivations. I do need control over myself though and I think I like to control situations not people. I think plutonians have a choice to embrace the dark or the light and I try very hard to embrace the light but it takes a lot of introspection and inner awareness and constant transformation of the self to get there. The sun is ego/self so with pluto right there I find that I challenge myself constantly to be a better version on myself and probably attract situations/people into my life to be the catalyst for this.

I can so relate to everything you said here. My conjunction is a cross over virgo sun in the fifth and virgo pluto in the sixth.

Ami, how close was her conjunction and did it aspect any other planets. I think that and house position has a lot to do with how it will play out. Mine is in libra almost exact in the 6th h and squaring the mc. It also sextiles neptune by 1*, but my neptune is in the 8th along with my moon and is afflicted? Sun and pluto in combination isnt usually a significator of an "easy" life. Usually anything but. Many describe close, hard sun pluto aspects as "transformation(pluto) of the identity(sun) through crisis(pluto)".
