And I'm not disappointed you're a dude What year were you born? Don't mean to hijack this thread btw

I think that's our natural Cancer insecurity. "If they're a douche... and we have the same birthday..." It doesn't help that one of the ones I'm referencing was born on the exact same day as me. But then I randomly met some dude at the bar who was born a couple of hours earlier than me and he seemed nice enough.

I was born in 1985

Haha! Yeah, about the insecurity thing, you're probably right. Plus I have a Scorpio NN so I'm always investigating myself when I'm not busy investigating someone else. So you must have a Taurus NN then since I was born in '76. My SN is Taurus 12 degrees conjunct my Moon) Are we like June 23rds just passing in the night? Lol.

I'll stop bogarting this thread now. I have more to say on the subject though so maybe I'll start a June 23rd thread later and see if there are more than three of us here

U.S.A. is a Cancer Sun so that tells you something.

Yep! Taurus NN conjunct Venus exactly at 17'.

I believe there's a birthday thread somewhere in one of the other forums. I haven't looked in forever, but perhaps more 6/23s are listed there?

You guys having me cracking up!

Perhaps it's the subjectivity of emotions that is offputting to people around you because it's so unpredictable & not everyone wants to take the time (every hour) to figure out why you reacted the way you did.

My Cancer influence is my Moon placement.

As we get older, we understand our Cancer influences better & have figured out how to walk that fine line between other's feelings and our own.

I've often read that with Cancer energy you have so much nurturing to give that the key is to continue to empty your resource of it. If it's held in, you'll get even moodier & crankier. Yes, it's a risk to give all the time, but it's not as risky as what happens when we hoard it.

As soon as I read that I put together a New Topic you may find interesting, as there's a neverending debate regarding the "true" Birth Chart.

Fondue Knight, your NN exactly conjuncts
my Amor and, by 3 degrees, my Jupiter

Back to Earth, Glad our June 23rd conversation was amusing!! I agree with what you said about the nurturing and I would add that of we could also remember to direct that nurturing energy towards ourselves once in a while we'd be better off as well!

I wrote...I don't have a clear choice as I've researched only a few events. It'd take a while but I have some indicators. It makes too much sense that it's a Cancer country re:focus on family & the mother, traditional family values, big focus on protection & securing resources, the racism that's still rampant as Cancer wants to cling to its clan & doesn't like outsiders, I don't want to throw in boobs but if I must, there are others. Disclaimer: Not to say that every Cancer born is a racist. But if we're looking at the USA chart, you have to look for why is that such a big issue for this country in general when others have moved on. I think I just saved my ass from some defensive Cancerian on the board. Whoooooo

I'm from Canada (and still live here) and we're also a Cancerian country. I see a lot of similarities in the things you mentioned about the US Lonake. Though it would be interesting to compare their charts and see both Moon and Mars of each.

But still in the U.S. (I don't know how it is in Canada), the mother is not a respected role --under the surface--. On top, yes it all looks dandy, 'I love my mama, my mama didn't raise no fool, mama raised me right.' You see this talk from presidents & it's all applause, all cheers. But there are systems that keep mothers on one level oppressed, the high cost of day care for example, the demeaning attitude to women who stay at home on one hand, but then on the other if she works well --she lost the battle-- too, cos that means shes *bad* and *shortchanging the kid* from nurturing. It's literally, here is this thing to be respected but you can't win no matter what you choose.

In comparing it to France, for example, other countries makes cracks about how U.S. is a nation led around by their babies. And it's true. The statistics in one study show parents in the U.S. spend more time in the company of their children.

Here's a screen capture of the stats for reference, France is near the bottom & U.S. is near the top (close to Canada) when we look at the mothers,

- Parental Education and Parental Time with Children (it's a PDF).

Or are we really referring here to the lunacy inherent in the sign as Fondue Knight has pointed out

One of my good friends is a triple Cancer (sun, moon, Asc) and she's anything but an affliction. She's hilarious. And so genuine, and empathetic, and loyal. And I LOVE HER. :P

There's really no placement in Cancer that bothers me. Even Mars. Because chances are it trines so many of my other planets. <3

I've actually wanted to start threads about the signs of countries, but what stops me is that no one can agree on them, and my Libra sun would go batty. I think that I'll try it, though. I can definitely see Cancer being the sign of the US.

[edit to update]: did start it, but it was moved and then closed even where it was moved. Not a good topic I guess.

I actually like Cancer placements, moods and all. Maybe because they jive well with all my Taurus placements. And I've yet to meet a Cancer who does not crack me up! Cancer humor can have me ROFL and gasping for breath.
