I'm about to have my third Jupiter return and I can't seem to recall what was going on for me in my previous two. Any stories to share?

Aza, that sounds fun! I could use some socializing. And it sounds like the fact that you came out was part of the freedom Jupiter supposedly brings!

Lonake,

I hope that my Jupiter return brings me the same freedom it brought you. I am currently at a total standstill, coming out of a 2.5 year period of intense darkness I wasn't sure I would make it through and have been very much lacking in my normal amount of faith in the universe (which for me, used to feel boundless.)

It's heartening to read about everyone's experiences although I have to say that most everyone I know who went through their first Saturn return had these very big things happen for them. My Saturn return was like a small wisp of smoke passing me by in the dead of night. Nada. All my friends were moving countries, getting married or engaged, having kids and getting great jobs and mine was so underwhelming. Hence this post.

Keep wondering if Jupiter will have any impact at all. Clearly, i'm a tad desperate for positive change. Ever since ol' Jupiter in my 7th house solar return let me down last year, I feel a bit suspicious!! Lol. Ah, expectations

I'm about to have my Jupiter return and I'm almost 24 and I just finished college as well. I hope something similar happens to me, Azakeal!

But I'm really hesitant about this return because natal Jupiter is in the 6th house. I really hope it doesn't lead to health problems, especially since it will square natal Moon in 3rd H.

Yea, I would have rather people had added their natal Jup placement & sign, without that it's sorta baseless on its own.

.
.

Sorcha,
Look at t.Saturn on an angle for those types of changes as well. What they equate to in a *basic* sense is a change in responsibility.

Lonake - Natally, I have Jupiter in Taurus, 12th house, conjunct Moon and square Mars in Leo. (Le sigh)

About Saturn, very true.As for angles and Saturn, my Solar Return chart has Saturn in LIbra exactly conjunct my SR MC this year. Natally, it's in Leo, 3rd house, conjunct my IC. So definitely an opposite experience.

On my Jupiter return nothing exciting happened. Actually it was a pretty bad time in my life. But it had been like that for awhile at that point. When tUranus (chart ruler) and tJupiter were conjunct on the Aries cusp five months or so later is when my life started getting drastically better.

My nJupiter is in Pisces 1st house. nUranus in Sagittarius 10th house.

I like the 'le sigh' thing people do now, when did that catch on, it's cute.
Anyway Jupiter H12 Taurus in one way says to me, inner spiritual resources, that are waiting to be tapped. A lot of wealth there, an ability to receive/show compassion and understanding at your worst moments/and to the worst moments of others. A saving grace. It's called the guardian angel placement by some. But Jupiter's house is usually not a place where we take and take without giving anything in return. The change & freedom for me came when I realized I could utilize my Jup H4/Scorp dynamic, but in a completely different way. Jupiter doesn't reward nose to the grindstone like Saturn. Jupiter believes in a world of abundance, where the commodities that are freely traded are in inexhaustible supply. That's the basis of the argument for Jup, that it attracts based on that belief. So being in the dark regarding this matter is painful, because you wonder why aren't you receiving the aid any longer, why are you not feeling it as a positive energy. I think it's because the energy might be clogged somewhere; it needs 2 release points, one from others to you, and one from you to others. You need to give in order to get, then the energy flows freely.

The H12 involvement I can see why it might be a cloudy issue cos there's nothing about that house that is v.straightforward. Also with the sq to Mars in Leo, there might be an accident or an excess of energy connected to your returns. Mars/Jup sq is not a look before you leap thing, and in Leo there is a lot of excitement/passion in the moment & you prob feel like 'get this show on the road already (!)' The conj to the Moon ties in the issue of the mother, of nurturing, possibly going overboard since Moon/Jup is a combo of the indulgent mother. Moon/Jup are in Taurus which, altho v.hedonistic, is also quite practical.

So that may be a good starting point for looking at past returns and the issues that may be surrounding the next one.
Here's a site to easily see where Jup has been over the yrs, http://www.planetwatcher.com/
The fact is that each planet, sign and house carry many associations. So to predict is quite difficult, it's quite individual too. My Jupiter return experiences could both be seen in the transits I was under at the time, and progressions, and solar arcs. Quite complex, but after some contemplation it should be more clear
I recommend the Rulership Book, by Rex E.Bills, for lists of house/planet/signs correspondences to help you with this and also with looking at any chart in general.

1st one - nothing major. 'twas a great summer.
And the last time, I had to move. Jupiter rules my 4th. That's about all I recall...

Here's hopin, Planet Queen! I suppose it depends what house Jupi is returning to and the aspects it makes (I had it conjunct my Sun, Merc and Saturn around the same time and in the 7th, so a social house). Maybe in the 6th it will mean improved health, well-being, lifestyle, a bit of luck with a health concern or a new pet - they can be fun! Jupiter squares dont tend to be as bad, maybe exaggerate things a little.

Sorcha, I think freedom was big gift from Jupi for me! I hope he helps expand your horizons a bit. Maybe some literal travel would do you good? On another point, my Saturn return was all that spectacular - I didnt move house, change jobs or get married or anything else significant. However I did a lot of internal work, which may not appaer as glitzy to the outside world but then that's not what it's really about and in fact if you come out of your Saturn return more mature, wise, clued up and sorted (rather than just having made some big outer change for show) you're prob better off. At least I hope so! lol

Second Jupiter return: Got married, pregnant, & had a nice baby.

Third: I FINALLY got to travel someplace I've been dying to travel to, against all odds.

Edit: Natally I have Jupiter Aries in the 9H, ruling my 5th house, where I have Neptune and maybe Venus. I also moved when I got married.

inthemisosoup, I'm sort of in a not-so-hot time in my life too so I can relate. I don;t have any grand expectations but I will admit to having hopes

Lonake, Le sigh - Ha! I've been saying that for half my life, mainly because I grew up speaking French (I'm from Canada). I didn't know it had turned into a trend

Inner spiritual resources....hm. Maybe reconnecting with that part of myself. It's been a little dry in the being-connected-to spirit area of my life for the past while so that would definitely be a good thing. I used to be far more abundant, in most areas than I have been of late. I have just started crawling out of my hide hole in the last three months and am trying to re-establish a positive relationship with the energy of abundance so that's a valid point for me.

When you said "you wonder why aren't you receiving the aid any longer" that definitely hit home for me too. I usually feel a Universal support and feeling divorced from that is very much affecting me. The irony, as you pointed out, is that to be abundant you must feel abundant and I seem to be stuck in a space of lack - which really sucks btw.

I have definitely been more giving of my energy lately and it does feel more natural to me (being a Cancer) however as you also pointed out, with the square to Mars, my energy is all over the place. I'm either not sleeping at all or I'm having 2 hour naps!

I'm not too well versed in solar arcs - I can read the chart but am not sure how to interpret them timing wise, but I will have a look and see if anything pops out at me. Thanks for the book recommendation. I will definitely look into that Thanks also for the advice - it's a good reminder for me.

Capriquarius - I'm starting to get the sense that Jupiter returns are perhaps more subtle than I realized. I wish I could remember what was going on in my life during the last one.

Azakeal, I would love to travel somewhere but I am strapped for cash this year and so I mainly fantasize about running off to Africa, or back to Nepal. I used to travel quite a lot so I actually know what I'm missing As for the Saturn return comment, I think you're correct. In general, the bulk of my personal growth cannot be seen by looking at me from the outside. Most of it has been emotional, psychological and spiritual - and either alone or with a partner. Thanks for the support!

Faith, See there you go! I guess I'm hoping for something really cool and external and FUN! (not a baby though, unless immaculate conception comes with a monthly dowry).

I found this:

quote:
Jupiter returns
Jupiter returns occur every twelve years or so, and indicate a new phase of growth and development in life. The first Jupiter return, at around age twelve, concerns the move into adolescence and puberty; while the second return at around age 24 concerns the first real moves into the adult world. The year of a Jupiter return will usually be a good one, with prizes won and grants awarded. Writers are often first published in this year, and sports people achieve their first important goals. Foreign travel and higher study are often indicated. The Jupiter return is the ideal time to push forward and be assertive, as efforts will usually be well rewarded.

Aw thanks Planet Queen I'm having my 3rd Jupiter return but I am feeling assertive so hopefully if I keep pushing forward, I'll let where I need to go. Also, does this mean that I have reached mature adulthood?!

Transits to my Jupiter aren't all that because it has stressful aspects to it: conjunct BML, square Chiron, quincunx Sun. Doesn't that sound pleasurable.

I enjoyed my Saturn return more than Jupiter returns, prolly cuz my Saturn is trine Sun/Mars conj in Cap.

I bet I'm gonna die in a plane crash or house fire on my final Jupiter return because it is the natural ruler of the 9th (long distance travel, flight) and rules my 4th (home, house, family.....who I would be visiting in my homeland).

Capriquarius, You bring up a good point here. My Moon and Jupiter conjunct each other, which can be seen as a benefit (or not) for my Moon. But other than that, they are both afflicted, in the 12th house and in an intercepted sign no less. Moon is also conjunct SN which does not help matters at all.

So maybe this Jupiter return is only going to make me fat and disillusioned??

OMG Jupiter brings positives. *But* the rest of the chart at the time of the return has to be evaluated. Also Jupiter Rx's often so you have to follow it's path..it's not done until it's past with your natal degree.

Lonake - I checked and the next time Jupiter retrogrades it will not return to my natal Jupiter degree at Taurus 20, House 12. It will retro back through my whole first house and just about conjunct my Ascendant again next January.

As for what is going on transit-wise when my Jupiter Return happens:

Tr. Juno and NN conjunct my Descendant
Tr. Pluto trining my Moon
Tr. Sun conjunct Moon (briefly, of course)
Tr. Neptune trine Sun and Venus
Tr. Pluto square Pluto
Tr. Venus sextile Mars
Tr. Saturn sextile Mars
Tr. Uranus square Sun and Venus
Tr. Mars and Neptune square Ascendant

What thinketh you?

Just look at the chart w.the solar arcs + progressions + transits throughout the duration of the return, +/- 2 degrees for t.Jup. First thing is look at the conjunctions. Esp one involving an outer planet.

But since it's a Jupiter return, evaluate Jupiter *all over the place* as a primary focus.
Since yours is in the 12th, evaluate Neptune strongly as well.

Also don't forget Chiron and the nodes. A big part of my Jupiter return was t.Chiron conj my n.Moon.

Just focus on the conj and see what you get. Solar arc conj is generally a big deal.
And I don't know when the return is gonna be, but I would look at the charts prior to the return as well, maybe 3 mos in advance.
Simply because the carryover of that energy will likely be influencing the return. Consequences of those actions/those meetings, etc.

i remember 2008 being the last time jupiter was in aquarius. i had a great awesome time. the 2nd half of the year had some serious hard times though-regardless-i had good luck in getting through them. in some instances, i barely got by but off the skin of my teeth-very lucky too.

Lonake,

Okay, well although I am crap at solar arcs I did look into it and to be honest, there's not much going on with solar arc Jupiter at all in reference to my natals. Literally nothing, in fact.

SA Jupiter is exactly between my first and second houses.

Solar Arc Neptune is bi-quintiling natal Mercury and Mars. Solar Arc Chiron is also doing nothing with my natals.

Progressed Jupiter is nearing my Ascendant as it has been for some time, along with Asteroid Amor.

No solar arc or progressions to really speak of with Jupiter, Neptune, Chiron or Nodes.

If you added in conj across the board (natal prog sa t.), then likely it will be quite quiet. Conj make the most noise. After that the opp & square.
