My asc is scorpio. I have noticed that i am attracted to men who either are scorps or have lots of scorpio in thier charts. Is it common thoughts that your rising is suppossed to point you to your best astrological match? Or is there another planet placement for that?

Do you find yourself attracted to your ascendant?

My ascendant is Cancer, but I have 4 planets and NN in Capricorn. I've definately been attracted to men with Sun in Cancer or strong Cancer placements!

I think this is probably very true since their placements either land in your 1st or 12th house which is powerful either way...

Not my case. I never liked a Scorpio Sun or people with strong Scorpio placements as far I know. Only people from Fire signs. Especially Aries and Leo.

I tend to make really good friends with those that have the same rising as me. But they also really irritate me too. Sagittarius Rising will do that especially the ones that have verbal diarrhea. And I've never dated a Sagittarius rising so I wouldn't know about the attraction speculation although I stress rising sign compatibility.

Yeah I agree about actually having the same rising sign. I don’t know many other Cancer risings, but I dated someone with the same ascendant (conjunct 2 degrees), and it could be a little too difficult just to have a serious conversation. I find my own ascendant hard to come to terms with at times and this was just too much. People would always tell us we looked like brother and sister… weird lol

I've noticed that the Rising is something we grow into, and if the person with the Sun Sign is not patient, they never connect. It's like the Rising Sign'ed person needs that Sun Sign person to hang around so they can get the hang of it.

It was only when I was much older that the people who were the same Sign as my Rising clicked with me.

Oh no that is a bummer! I always date exotic types especially latino men that look nothing like me so I don't have that issue. The few times that I dated a guy that looked like me I was not turned on my them, I think I had this weird sensation that I was dating a relative.

I'm tired and hope I've only misinterpreted my recent look between mine/my husband's charts.
Over the last year I had his rising drawn up and all the criteria is the same as then.. Yet now it seems to have altered. I have reviewed it several times. Unless there's a glitch on astro.com calculations. This absolutely has ruined my night.
For me it is bothersome because if he isn't a Capricorn rising, he's a Sag rising. As a Cappy, I thought that's what made him responsible. That is the only Cap quality I can identify within him- now I wonder if I was self deluded. Wouldn't be the first time.
This is not a Sag bash post, 'I am a Sag rising'. Hopefully I'll figure out what is accurate. I'm going to wait for Mercury to go direct.

Rising is cancer not really attracted to those, although I recently ended a 15 month courtship with a lying two-faced cancer man. He was the first cancer man I'd dated, don't know why I did. Hopefully the last one. Not a big fan of Capricorn either.

I dated a Taurus for 4 years and tend to get along with Taurus suns for the most part, especially the ones with Aries energy. More so the men than females. With the gals it's a hit or miss.

I have Aquarius rising. I like sun sign aquas, but as friends, not romantic material.

I do though seem to attract guys with Uranus rising, and strong Saturn (in general), too.

I have a Scorpio Ascendant. It depends on the Scorpio placement whether I'm attracted to them or not. I like Mars in Scorpio, Sun in Scorpio, and Mercury in Scorpio. Moon in Scorpios sound good in theory, but I think it depends on the Moon in Scorpio. Venus in Scorpio I don't like at all. However, if the Venus in Scorpio is very mature, I may decide to make an exception.

Regardless of what I've already said, I'm not sure how attracted I'd be to Scorpios in practice, especially since I think my current relationship is intense enough without Pluto or Scorpio being involved in our synastry and composite charts. It's quite possible I wouldn't be a fan of the real thing.

My rising is Sag, but my mars also in Sag, so it's hard to see where it came from. I definitely like the appearance/body/style of the Sag males or strong Sag influence people.

My younger sister has Sag rising too and Sag venus, we are a partner in crime. We like our conversation and togetherness. But, the Sag influence people must be wiser, or I won't like them at all. My rising conjunct Saturn and my younger sister has moon in Cap.

No, but such a matchup can occur, since it can be a good point of compatibility for your Asc to be conjunct his Sun/personal planets.

Anytime another person's natal placements are close to your Asc their energies can be felt more personally than usual.

Not so much. Just a friend or two here or there whose Sun/planets are anywhere near my Asc (17 Virgo).

In general principle, you'll like others' Sun/planets near your Asc if you are especially wanting affirmation of yourself and your rising sign's mode of expression, or if you just like a strong feeling of being 'on the same wavelength'.

WEll, from what I've observed in my years of studying astrology, is that my friend groups, and my ex-lovers all seemed to have some sort of similarity to my luminaries or my Ascendant.
examples:
- my best friend has scorpio moon, and i have scorpio ASC.
- I have Sagittarius moon, and many friends have Sagittarius ASc/Sun/Moon

A lot of the times, we just connect with those who are like-minded, or who have major similarities with us.

I have Gemini rising, and yes generally I get along with Geminis really well in the beginning...but really depends on the person, if they have too many planets in the Taurus-Scorpio axis or Cancer-Capricorn Axis, it doesn't work out long term.

Attraction because of like mindedness...yes. Which can turn romantic(if other factors allow)

Conjunctions/oppositions to the 6th/7th house planets for an example in my case, are quite potent.

I am Leo asc and I attract them (Leo Sun) quite often as well as I am attracted to them. Can't say that this is the best option though. So I try to find reasonable explanation for this attraction.

No, I'm attracted to my Dsc sign people. People of my Asc sign are attracted to Me, not the other way round. Anyone who has personal planets in your Asc sign will likely cast those planets in your 1H. Too simple it's more than that, not so one-sided but: their planets in your 1H - they want you, their planets in your 7H - you want them.
