Hi,

I'm curious as to the effect of the progressed Moon in Cancer. My Moon will ingress into Cancer in a few weeks time, at the same time it will be moving into my 8th house.

Could you share your experiences of the progressed Moon in the 8th or Cancer please? Were there any significant events? Did you notice a difference from when the Moon was in Gemini or the 7th?

Thanks

Ugh...sorry, don't mean to worry you or start a post like that.

I suppose it depends on the individual chart, but pMoon in both Cancer & Capricorn coincided with the worst periods in my life. During both periods I found myself in desperately unhappy positions with no hope but to endure them. This is of course my own personal experience.

pMoon in Cancer, the first go round, found me as a hot blooded teenager, grossly unhappy and trying to end it all...fail. But I don't want to get into that.

pMoon across the Gemini-Sagittarius axis were the best periods of my life. Everything was new and exciting. The world just opened up for me in magical ways.

I am a Gemini w/Saggi moon, btw.

During the latter stages of pMoon in Gemini I found myself on an airplane for the first time. Leaving my childhood home, for good, to relocate. At some point the moon progressed into Cancer & that little experiment fell apart. I then went to live with a Cancer relative. It was awful - domineering, mean spirited, and ugh. But I knew I had no choice. Didn't work up the courage to leave, being a minor didn't help, until pMoon moved to Leo. Btw, pMoon in Leo was a blast.

hmmmm, during pMoons in both Cancer & Capricorn cash flow slowed to a trickle. Also, I remember having jobs where I was expected to work hard, and I did, but receive very low pay. In Cancer - I was made to work at @ friend's shop who didn't make enough to pay market or minimum wages. So working there became a condition of me living with my relative. In Capricorn - I made a few errors & found myself in a situation where a very high percentage of my pay went to covering rent. Both signs seem to highlight home/career/living situation/job/money.

I have Cancer on the 11th house cusp & Capricorn on the 5th house cusp.

Thank you Nine.

It seems like the progression was especially difficult since your natal Moon is in an air sign and the moon progressed into watery, moody Cancer. Did you feel the effects of the sign more than the house the progressed Moon resided in?

Can you remember what occurred when the Moon was in your 8th house?

I have p.Moon through the 8th right now. It's an endurance test as far as I can tell. CAN NOT WAIT til it goes in the 9th.

Thanks Lonake,

Could you elaborate on what you mean by an "endurance test"? What areas of your life is it effecting? Have you been experiencing 8th house / Scorpionic themes?

Yes as far as coming to terms with loss. I can't elaborate further as there are some things I don't like to share on this board. Thanks for understanding.

I can point you in this direction, tho.
And I can't find it now, but I read a source that mentioned the difficulties in the 8th being a result of decisions made during a late period while p.Moon was going through the 7th. My current experience was due to a decision I made when p.Moon was only 8 degrees into my 7th. So I agree with that statement, but only to a point. And I didn't feel negative effects of my decision until it entered the 8th. Back then it made perfect sense and felt right to me at the time. I wasn't even paying attn to my transits/progressions at the time. This doesn't mean you'll have a negative experience. I have a lot of other factors playing into mine.
Hope it helps.

I was 8/9 years old. pMoon was in Aries. There was a lot going on during this period. In conjunction to this I had pVenus sq pSaturn, as well as my first SN return.

Something was snatched from me. Or maybe it was fate, or a becoming. I'm embarrassed to say, but I too am not prepared to talk about it. Lies!! It was a lie. But one of those things once it get onto you it's impossible to separate from. Like a hairdo, or a nickname it just seems to fit & instantly becomes part of your legend. But it was a lie.
