I recall my mother used to tell me that I had a sever fear of animals. ANYTHING pretty much, I would go into crying fits. I do recall being so scared of having to look at a dead lobster that was on the kitchen table, and wouldn't eat my dinner until it was removed.

I overcame the fear after my mother took me to a witch doctor, who cured me.

I like the psychology side of astrology, and was wondering would could possibly be in the chart that would suggest such phobia.

HERE IS MY CHART:

I've come across people who are just so scared.....

Oh Brother!

Thank God it's not a majority because it would drive me insane when I walk my dog.

These kinds of fears could point to Neptune afflictions.
As far as I can tell the fear is basically a fear of the unknown ... of something that is *different* to you - (a different species, in this case). The phobic person does not seem to understand that all animals have rules when it comes to their behaviour (including humans)..

Animals do not usually behave in an erratic, strange way - If/when they do - it is an exception to the rule. It is NOT the rule. The odds of meeting an aggressive dog are exactly the same as the odds of meeting an aggressive human who knocks you out.

Animals are NOT senseless.. They might be less intelligent - but they have their own kind of logic.

As a Gemini ^ perhaps you were under the illusion that animals do not know what they are doing.. and for that reason you felt in danger. Maybe you felt as though you were dealing with a 'life form' that is unreasonable.
Gemini being a Mercurial sign - interacts with others on a cerebral level.. and (like the other air signs) they can be out of touch with their instincts and their physical body. So you may have come under the impression that you cannot interact with animals on an intellectual level - which made them scary... because you *thought* you couldn't predict their behaviour. But nothing could be further from the truth, because your can very much so - have - an intellectual connection with an animal!

I was very scared of dogs as a young girl. I would jump into my mother's arms when I would see one. We got a family dog to help with my fear. That one passed but now they have 3. I am no longer scared of pets at all.
When I was younger I was deathly afraid of "crooks" hiding in closets of my house. Possibly still have some of that fear. In general, I am very cautious and paranoid.

Let me see if I can come back and edit to see if theres similarities with our charts. Well we both have Venus opp Uranus Neptune and Saturn. Doubt that matters

Your sixth house which rules pets and small animals has no planets in it. It does have your north node. maybe it is one of the fears you should overcome in this life. Your south node is in the 12 which rules larger animals.

I found a thread on phobias http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3816

It mentions Saturn in hard aspect to your 12 house ruler (Venus) which you have

http://bijouflowers.blogspot.com/2008/07/sixth-house-north-node-twelfth-house.html?m=1

Here is a link about having North node in 6th house.

Ps I'm a beginner. Just did some research to try to help

Wow thanks for the info!

Could also be Venus Opposite Uranus. Fears are irrational and mostly to do with the mind, no?

Fear is primarily attributed to Saturn, but can also be seen with Neptune (irrational).
There is a Venus/Moon/Saturn tsquare which is an inhibiting configuration on the emotional level. If animals represent an untamed nature, then a fear of them with someone with this combo could simply point to a fear of desires/moods taking over the personality & wanting to keep control of animalistic impulses.

P.S., Lobsters are ruled by Moon & Neptune.
Water is tied to emotional depths, so a fear of something related to water translates to a backup on the emotional front, psychologically. A feeling that is potentially overwhelming so there's a desire to get away from it & not acknowledge it. So the fear of a lobster would be a transference of this reluctance to face deep emotions. Neptune in Capricorn conj IC, ruled by Saturn in the above t-square.

Edit,
peachbeigeblue mentioned the H6/H12 axis as it relates to animals. Your H6 is ruled by Neptune conj the IC & sq the Moon in the 12th. The fact that Moon rules the 10th, part of the parental axis, may implicate one of your parents in this fear, in a psychological context.

Moon in 12th is the indicator of fear of animals.

I feared my mother until I was 15. Moon in 12 is a good point, didn't consider that

Then the progressions after the age of 15 must be checked.

I have a rational and instinctual fear of dogs.

I have facial scars from where one pushed me down a (thankfully) short flight of stairs and proceeded to eat my face when I was 2-and-a-half years old. My skull was exposed over my left eye. I had to get reconstructive surgery on the old scar on my right cheek 7 years ago (still not healed all the way through btw). I grew up with a scar on my face that looked like railroad tracks because back then the only technique was external stitches.

I like cats, though .

My boyfriend also hates dogs (this from his experience with owning one though, he says it ruined his family).

He also likes cats .

I donīt think "not understanding that animals have rules..." is always the problem. Sometimes it might be just an insecurity, created because people don`t KNOW the rules and therefor do not know how to act/ react.

(Though I think if it is really a phobia, some subconscious mechanisms may also be in place)

Re: Capriquarius's post HERE

I fear rattlesnakes because they can kill me.
That's not irrational.

It's also because you don't know much about rattlesnakes.
If you were the daughter of a rattlesnake trainer.. and you were brought up with 20 rattlesnakes in your backyard.. and you were taught how to handle them.. etc... you probably wouldn't feel as though you are in danger.
It reminds me of Steve Irwin's kids.

I think it's natural to be afraid.. But on an intellectual level I realise that just because something has the ability to kill me that does not mean that it *will* kill me.
That's what I meant earlier when it comes to animals being reasonable and having their own rules.. And if you *know* the rules and you *know* how to handle them (depending on their species) - you would normally be safe.

But obviously I'd P*ss myself if I saw a rattlesnake near me LOL

In the words of Crocodile Dundee,

"That's not a King Cobra!! *This* is a King Cobra"

Consider the irony since you are Australian, Betty Boop.

There is enough venom in this bite to kill 20 humans.

YTA your dogs are so cute!!

I just love most breeds of dogs, though I'd be wary of a pit bull or Rottweiler. (I don't hate those types, just that I wouldn't feel safe around them, the same way that I like tigers but wouldn't want to be around one who was out of its cage at the zoo).

I definitely am afraid of some animals. I think that's normal. But cute and fluffy animals, plus horses, I like them.
