Their like me . I am one . well I have uranus right on my ascendant so im the epitome of an aquarius rising . We can appear to be arrogant but in a "im too smart for you " way , wer'e extremely intellectual and can appear to reject social norms thus appearing random or saying out of the blue things because we think intelligence and facts are important and really don't care when to say them , we are very calm and HATE over-emotional irrational people because it looks as if they are stupid . We are strange but not for the sake of it . Get over the fact . Yes im not like you . I don't enjoy it i don't despise it . I don't care . We think many emotional pursuits and giving in to your urges (unless scientifically explainable just sound like an excuse to be stupid )are ridiculous as they may get you into trouble later on we are future oriented thats why many things don't faze us because the situation will be dealt with and it will not be so bad in the future . Many mixed race or gay people will have an Aquarius rising in the 1st deccan . Like myself . I would think this rising is quite rare . every time i look up somebodies birth chart its Libra rising . Charismatic, ethical... depends how they're ASC is aspected too. Probably aloof. If we're going by the stereotypical Aquarius, they probably like a lot of artsy-fartsy stuff, tattoos, etc. Aquarius is the "hipster" of the zodiac. They can also come across as argumentative but debating is how they get to know you and feel comfortable around you.IP: Logged |

Maybe charismatic is the wrong choice of word, but I notice Aquarius influenced people (like straight up Aquarius planets, none of this "honorary" aspect crap) have quite a talent for drawing people to them without so much as lifting a finger. rofl at the hipster comparisons, so accurate. im in a new relationship with an aquarius asc, we banter a lot, i love to tease him. hes incredibly aloof and quiet for the most part. cant wait to use the hipster one in convo, im always taking the mick out of him for taking himself too seriously and being in love with himself lol. but that stuff i find endearing. his worst trait which he cannot begin to mask (even though he does try, by being deliberately vague a lot) is being highly indecisive which drives me (venus in aries) mad. he changes his mind at the last minute, or doesnt stick to plans we make... and has a million and one excuses to pluck from when called out. its enough to warrant me to try to end it - i didnt want to begin it in the first place to be fair...as i know what im like...too demanding...but he insisted...he is sag with a 12th house aqua mars (conjunct asc), an aqua venus in 12th also and a virgo moon in 7th too so im not sure how that plays out. i know he likes to come across as cool and calculated but hes not fooling me hes a big baby IP: Logged |

Hipster? eh...
No. Most Aquarian rising wont even get into the labels of things especially the term hipster. You'll notice a conservative streak in them though even if they hold liberal ideals. I think theres always a good blend. Contrarian a-hole sounds about right. Theyre always trying hard to stick with what they believe, despite the contratrian thing.Obama is a good example of an Aquarius rising. That's the point though. A hipster is someone who rebels against typical labels (which is irony in itself), and the comparison comes from them always being the only one out of their group of friends who knows about this, thinks that, believes in such and such. Whatever it is, it's something their friends haven't ever heard of, is new and innovative (not always, but it's original to whomever is hearing about it), etc. IP: Logged |

Yes, I like your description of Aqua ascendant, Kannon. It fits, for me. I have been fighting for the underdog, in some fashion, since grade school. Also don't want to be seen as a clone, so I'm always a bit different from the crowd. If everyone has to carry a Coach bag, or has to wear a particular style of flat, I try very hard to avoid buying it/them. Yes, even if the style appeals to me. I still don't want to look just like every other woman.I'm not aloof, though, but I have Venus conjunct Jupiter which perhaps makes me more sociable, as well as a Cancer moon, which compels me to reach out to people in certain situations. Wow, to the other poster who said "don't tickle them". I am insanely ticklish, to the point where my 7 y.o. son chases me around the house trying to get at my feet because he knows he can torture me that way. My mom and son are both Aqua risings, with similar traits. Both are emotionally reserved, enjoy solitude, dislike being touchy feely, and are very stubborn. In a debate, they are both argumentive.. will not back down long after the other person has tired of the debate. My mom is more social and combative at the same time, which I think is due to her Moon in the 1st and Mars in Taurus. My son although stubborn and argumentive, is shy with only a few close friends, and never looks for a fight. Once engaged into a fight, he will press his case to the end.
