I have Cancer rising, but it does not relate much to me, I think. How is this ascendant exactly? Besides, I have lots of aspects to my ascendant and one planet in the first house, is that the reason? IP: Logged |

I would think that the Asc in Cancer is much like the moon in Cancer.Although, it must be stressed that the moon in cancer is in its own position and so may exhibit more of the qualities associated to Cancer sign. So I would sy that having the ascendant there affords you with a little more protective shell(much like the sun being in this position). Your emotions may guide you into making important decisions all through your life. You live your life relatively through the way you feel. IP: Logged |

I have a cancer rising too I don't relate to it either lol. I think the ascendant maps out your life in a grand scale. Signs in different houses also effect the way you react to certain things. You could have scorpio 5th house "intense interest in creative self expression. This may lead to an interest in art forms that involve mystery". You would probably express yourself in an aggressive, dramatic manner.IP: Logged |

The Sun in leo is modifying the Cancer ASC a great deal as it's first house position is "on your person", you could say.------------------

Hi, I have a question  . I have asc cancer too and moon in leo in 1st house. Does this also make me more leo like or cancer? Does this make me more sensitive too?IP: Logged |

That would make you pretty sensitive and dramatic.
Both Cancer & Leo traits are intensified so the need for attention and reassurance may be very prominent in your personality.

Well, Libra is on my 5th house cusp, but the whole sign of scorpio is in my 5th house (sagittarius cusp 6th house) and I have Pluto and Jupiter both in Scorpio in the 5th, so.. What does it actually mean that a whole sign is in a house? Does this have influences on the house matters? IP: Logged |

A few years ago I always thought I was a Gemini rising, but that is probably Mercury on my ASC. But is it true that other ASC aspects, like the trine, square etc, could 'change' your ascendant, If you understand? I have:Mercury conjunct ASC
Venus sextile ASC
Saturn trine ASC
Uranus and Neptune opposite ASC
Pluto trine ASC, but it is quite wide though I also guess that Leo traits are quite apparent in my appearance. What are the Cancer (ASC) traits for the appearance? IP: Logged |

That means Scorpio/Taurus are intercepted in your chart.There are different theories about intercepted signs, you can look it up on the web; some say the energy of that sign has a harder time being expressed, others say it's even stronger.

Thank you, the article of the intercepted (and duplicated, in my chart Leo and Aquarius) signs is quite interesting. Only, I am not so good at combining the descriptions. Besides, I like everything in depth, because all the general/superficial descriptions are easy (or easily?) to find on the internet. Furthermore, are Aquarius and Scorpio (traits) or can they be significant in my appearance/ASC, since my chart ruler, moon, in is Aquarius in the 8th house? I identify stongly with my Moon in Aquarius, it is probably the most accurate description of me and I can also relate much to Scorpio. IP: Logged |

Aquarius & 8th house matters are "natural" for you because the Moon is there and it is your chart ruler. Intercepted or not, the chart ruler is always of paramount importance.IP: Logged |

Ascendant can be massively modified by planets that are close the ascendant in both the 12th and 1st houses. Also with Cancer rising the house where your moon is and it's condition would also affect the strength of cancer expressing its self. If your moon is in detriment in a natrual house of detriment i.e Moon in Capricorn in the 10th house you'll probably either feel little of your cancer asc, or it could manifest in negative ways depending on aspects. My husband's the same, Cancer rising with Leo sun in the first house. Linda Goodman's description of Cancer rising in her Relationship Signs book is spot-on. The one thing about him I could never figure out is, he is extremely attached to the house he grew up in, and the whole town he's from. According to Goodman, that is very Cancer rising....and nothing else in his chart, that I can see, would give that sentimentality. IP: Logged |

Well, I can identify myself with Leo rising. Someone told me I had a strong radiance. Also, that's why I don't really relate to Cancer rising, because I miss that sentimentality, like your husband has, for example. I recognize my Cancer rising a bit, but I am not a typical one I guess. And I have mercury conjunct ASC. A few years ago I always thought I had a Gemini ASC. I am not that emotional either.

Where are your Moons? Which sign/house? I find that the position of the ruling planet your Ascendant is in can give it a sort of flavour/twist. For example, I'm a Virgo rising with a Libra Mercury and one of my bffz is a Virgo rising with an Aquarius Mercury. I can see how our Ascendants play out, but they play out in different ways because of our Mercuries. IP: Logged |
