In Parkers astrology, in the last few pages there is a table which has a list of characteristics and aspects next to them which are responsible.

I'm interested to hear what people have found in a chart to make someone a snob and inclined to arrogance.

I've actually found the water signs to be quite snobbish towards others, but this is mainly in my peer-group, so may be down to something else.

I've noticed it to be prevalent among Scorpios actually.

Maybe the Capricorn moon or Leo mars? I admit I'm often guilty of being quite snobby, but not well and truly.

Venus poorly aspected? Venus falling in the fifth house maybe?

Your thoughts?

Well technically snobbishness is based on perceptions, therefore you could be perceiving someone as a snob and their not actually a snob .There could just be inherent differences between two people rather than a superiority complex it could just be based on a feeling of inferiority when in contact with someone who acts and speaks in a completely different manner. -Shrugs

Her Sun's in Scorpio, Moon's in Gemini, Ascendant's unknown. I feel it's Leo because she concentrates a lot on her hair & is very vain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been told that I look arrogant. My ascendant's in Aqua, Saturn's in the 1st, Uranus is in Capri in the 12th. So that's Capricorn there.

My dad's Mars/Uranus/Ic are in Leo & yes, he loves to show off & does come across as snobbish at times.

My roommate's actually sweet but she does say super snobbish things when ****** . Her Merc,Venus,Mars,Sun & Saturn are in Aqua. Saturn conjs her Sun & Venus. If you've money or power, she'd go GaGa over you. It stems from her own sense of inferiority which becomes obvious if you stay with her.
She has no fire & mutable planets in her chart. While I'm 50% fire & mutable. I've a Singleton Aqua Saturn in the 1st & she's 60% air(50% aqua). We do well together.

For whatever reason - (the -why- of this is really beyond me)... I have only met fixed Sun sign people (or people with a predominance in fixed signs) who were snobs. Maybe it is coincidence. I also know several fixed Suns who are friendly and not at all snobs... But the few real snobs I've come across were all fixed.

Don't take it personally but I noticed people with sun in cancer associated with a leo mars-venus conjunction, and scorpios ( sun) in general have some superiority.

Libra moons as well.( those tend to be more annoying than the above though )

I've been perceived as a snob. Recently, I had told my mom about how I didnt want to go to this bridal shower and how none of the older girls like me. Later that week, my mom just said to me last week "i was thinking and... you're so pretty and you're so quiet, I think people take it as your stuck-up" and then I said well you should have given birth to me at another time.

I think for me it's the Leo Sun with Scorpio Rising which project a quiet strength opposrd to being shy.

My mother is a TOTAL snob. She openly admits she feels no obligation to give to 'poor people on the street' because 'they don't deserve to be rich, I need things too' or something along those lines... Awful! She can be quite stuck up and imagine that people in stores and restaurants are being rude to her when they actually aren't. She gets offended very easily.

She has a Leo Mercury AND Moon... I think they are conjunct. It's terrible. I blame this for her attitude, in this case.

People say I come off snobby, and that's because I'm shy.
Many get the impression when someone prefers not to talk to others is because they think there better than them. But they probably just have social anxiety, like me. It's pretty ironic lol.

I concur with Depth. A snob would have to be someone who judges, is superficial, has a slight inferiority complex. A saturn archetype could do bcuz they're so rough with themselves to a level where any upper to their esteem will do, thus snobbishness. lol.
Individuals who believe their way is always correct could be snobbish when they see others doing it differently. Now what sign/aspects/placements would point to this.. HM

I know a Gemini Sun/Virgo Moon who is like that. She has Leo Rising with Mars in Leo in the 1st house conjunct the ASC. I can handle it though haha. But she is also highly intelligent and has aristocratic names, so this makes it stronger. Not that she is an awful person, we are good friends, but she is very arrogant.

I actually agree with Odette, fixed signs are pretty common I've noticed, especially an emphasis on Leo.

Sometimes quietness/shyness, can be misunderstood as snobbishness.

I'm a Cappy rising and Ive had this happen a few times, but usually people quickly realize it's not snobbery.

Then when they get to know me even more, they realize there was an extremely friendly person under there the whole time. If we become close, the get to see the fun, crazy side.

Just took a little while to get to know and open up.

I've also been called arrogant and a snob because I can be very shy and I'm a picky eater! Clearly the main reason behind me not eating vegetables is because they're common people food.

I have Libra sun, Aquarius moon, Sagittarius rising, Libra mercury, Virgo venus and Leo mars.

I suppose I do/could come across snobbish sometimes due to Virgo venus and Leo mars. I'm not at all critical or a 'know it all' to be nasty, I do it because I'm genuinely trying to help you.

I have a Capricorn Moon and Leo Mars, and I've been accused of being a snob before, especially from my parents. But that mainly seems to stem from some comments I made about the store Goodwill. I said that I couldn't believe that anyone would ever shop there, and called it "trashy".

I also come off as rather stand offish with people that I don't know because whenever I'm out in public, I usually just don't acknowledge people that I don't know at all and act as if they aren't even there.

And I wouldn't say that I have a poorly aspected Venus, it's also in Capricorn and conjunct Npetune and Uranus. I don't really have any other major aspects with it, other than maybe I guess Venus trine my Taurus ascendant?

And you also mentioned Water signs, I'm a Pisces sun.
