It’s conjuct the ascendant but by almost 9 degrees so I’m not sure if that counts or how this would change things…

I wouldn’t say bullying per se but I was definitely never in the popular social groups growing up, and had a lot of social anxiety for a few years… I felt isolated socially and like others wouldn’t like me for who I am, which made me an easy target for aggressive personalities I guess.

My Chiron is also opposite Sun (4 degrees) and Saturn (2 degrees). And with Saturn representing the classic father figure I do think that my biggest wound growing up came from my relationship with my dad. I had conflicts with my mom as well but I was deeply affected by the way he treated me at times which was pretty much an adult form of bullying. When he was angry (which was often), I got used to hearing that I’m not good enough or I’m not going to amount to anything, etc. and would throw in any little comment that would hurt the most, sometimes about petty things like my appearance or mannerisms… All of this really destroyed my self esteem and I’m trying to let those wounds heal but am still affected by it years later…

And I do feel that I wear this as a scar because I learned to doubt myself and believe that maybe I don’t deserve to be a happy person or maybe I’m not capable of it like my parents said, which makes it difficult to reach out to others because I’m afraid they will see this in me and maybe believe it too…

But I know that Chiron is about both wounds and healing, and I haven’t given up on the positive things healing can bring, which will probably be a theme throughout my life…

That explains Chiron oppose the Sun, very well! I am sorry you went through that. How close is this opposition, orb wise?

@Ami Anne no, quite the opposite. My parents were not believers themselves.

Thanks Ami, I rounded to 4 but I guess it's actually a 3.19 degree orb... And 2.26 for the opposition with Saturn

Chiron will always show pain in the house in which it resides ime. Did you have ANY pain with religion? If not, it would be my humble opinion, that you may not have your Houses right. There are two different systems of Houses, commonly used. Planets can change houses, depending on the system used.

That is hard!
I can see how you would have a lot of feelings of low self worth.

I am not that versed in House Systems. Is that Equal House? At any rate, where would you say was your greatest life pain--7th house(relationships) or 8th (deep emotions and passions such that you feel a lot of pain in this part of yourself)

Or 10th house(Career and society)

All the above? I got a pretty heavy chart. My Moon, Mercury and Venus are afflicted, and they make contacts to my Chiron. I don't know if that counts?

I noticed a few people on here have Chiron in the 9th house.

I came up with a few possible ways it could manifest, also based on my own experience with it... tell me what you guys think.

A. You felt like you could not have the religious experience you wanted, something went wrong with it. In my case, there is a hazy confusion about why I was not baptized at birth. My mom always gives some weird and questionable explanation as to why they wouldn't 'let her' baptize me. It was something that bothered me at times during my childhood. I felt disconnected and closed-off from regular church community experiences and felt uncomfortable when friends would bring up CCD or church activities. To this day it makes me uncomfortable.

B. You felt like you were spiritually lost, didn't have God to help you, wanted to be atheist/agnostic. It seems to me, this placement could LEAD to this if you had a bad religious experience in childhood. It seems to reinforce that you might be disillusioned or something... feeling like why search for God, nothing feels right about the religious experience to me, etc. etc. It's just a thought.

C. Someone in a religious circle, although this is outright disgusting, actually did something to you. I'm thinking the most blatant and psychotic example of this placement is, molested by a priest which makes your entire view of religion just change totally, and become very painful... while life was made painful by something 'religious'. This is obviously not happening to everyone with this placement but I totally agree with Ami that this is one unfortunate manifestation of what could happen but most likely on the rare-ish side (though not as rare as it should be... it's still a serious issue in the world). If not molestation, then some serious kind of mistreatment or bizarre relationship which shaped you and made you have pain concerning 9th house matters. If not someone formal from the church, then maybe a religious family member or something.

I dont know why Religion is being brought up and not other 9th House attributions. Such as, cultures and overseas destinations, politics, BELIEFS, higher education and such.

I moved to Canada when I was 6 years old and was put into grade 2 immediately skipping Grade 1, due to Russia's different school curriculum. I learned English very quickly and had to readjust to a different school system, that seemed to be dumbed down. I struggled through out school. Never had the self control to sit through class and pay attention.

Well, we have these threads for discussion, which is part of learning.

The 9th house would be higher education, though. The 3rd would be early ed.

I wonder if yours was long distance travel from one country to another which was the root of your pain. I never saw this with a 9th house Chiron, but it seems to fit with you.

Did you have a lot of pain in your early home, particularly with your mother?
