I always wonder if Mercury aspect another planet effect your thinking style. Example if you have Mercury aspect Jupiter your thinking style will be expansive. What happens if you have Mercury aspect 2 planets does that mean you have a more larger influence in your way of thinking. I have Mercury Conjunct Uranus and Neptune really tight. I considered myself to be absent-minded kind of a whimsical mind and i believe it haves to do with Mercury/Neptune. Then i dont understand my Mercury/Uranus aspect in how that place out.

How about you guys does your mercury aspecting other planets influence your way of thinking or is it more complex than it looks.

It probably does...I'm not too sure about myself, though! I'm not a thinker one way or the other.

I think other planets definitely add a little something to Mercury. I have Mercury trine Jupiter, which does expand my thinking and make me philosophical at times.

how about mercury combustion exactly? or mercury aspecting a retrograde planet.

i have both of these and i feel like a mercury retrograde person at times. definitely scatter brained . but what's really different about me seems to b the way i learn things. i seem to learn the steps in different order then put it together later on

Yes,Mercury can be influenced, but being neutral planet, you can always sense and operate on the core Mercury notions shown by the sign it occupies!

Yes! Also, the planets in your 3H and what houses they rule, add flavor to your mercury and the way you think, I guess.

I have Mercury in Leo conjunct Leo Sun. I'd say my thoughts are always dramatic and VERY subjective not much of a rational thinker per se.

But I delve deeply into matters thanks to Sun/Mercury square Pluto.

yeeea my merc in cap is sandwiched between uranus and neptune as well. they're in my 4h and i have a sag mars in the 3rd. I wouldn't call myself whimsical! haha but i do have trouble focusing. I'm not sure how sag mars in the 3rd affects my mercury though.

Merc in Aquarius in the first quincunx Moon in Cancer (6th) and trine Pluto in Libra (8th)

I'm sharp witted but prone to emotional outbursts at work.

I suppose the trine makes me a passionate wordsmith in matters of the 8th house and plutonian matters.

I guess that will make sense because I have Jupiter and Moon in the 3rd house. Sometimes my opinion can be biased because i sometimes let my emotion control me. I've been told by others that i speak with such joy for life that its hard for them to believe I'm depressed. I think that have to do with my Jupiter in my 3rd house which i think helps me bounce back when I'm down. While my mom automatically thinks i have mood swings or something lol

Mercury in leo opposite NN & MC, conjunct SN, IC & Ceres.
Square Mars (large orb), Pluto (3orbs)
Bq Uranus

I probably feel Mercury Square Pluto the most. With this aspect you become more aware of everything a person is saying even the unconscious meaning. My mother calls me the human lie detector. I can notice more subtle forms of non-verbal communication and body
language, thus creating a reliable indicator of true feelings. For me non-verbal communication is more important than a simple verbal statement. The problem is this creates conflict for me because I have so many planets focusing on the third house and I can be very distrusting or suspicious of people's actions.
On the upside I feel that once the hard aspect is overcome that perceptive nature can be redirected in more positive light.

Oh wow, I totally relate! I also have Mercury in Leo square Pluto. I tell right away if someone is lying and sometimes I brush it off or avoid that person. This has been happening to me more lately, since I've been going on a lot of dates with people I do not know. If I don't like they're vibe, no second date ha!

Mercury in the 11th square Mars in the 8th; trine Rx Saturn in the 3rd.

The conflicting Cap vs. Aries can be very hard to balance at times. Not to mention that my thinking is indeed, a little eccentric from the 11th house influence, and having it in the Sagittarius duad makes me a touch all-over-the-place with organizing my thoughts and Mercurial projects...like books and personal writings. (Ex, I'll be reading 25 books at once and writing 10 at the same time. NO JOKE! Hah)

The Mars square makes me intense and admittedly sometimes abusive in the way I talk to people. I come up with the best insults you've ever heard. I can be especially brutal to those who I know intimately, but charming with strangers (good in 11th house socialization, bad in 8th house matters). This square is so evident in my life that it damages many close relationships I've had. This aspect also makes me speak, I think, quite rapidly and with a sharp, biting edge. I can get people to really listen when I talk. I have a commanding voice! Also, a LOUD mouth. I'm definitely a big mouth when I get carried away, I have a hard time controlling it...

The trine to Saturn contributes to my downside, the depression, and the eccentric thinking I can get when I'm depressed. Pisces Saturn puts me into a mental fog that is heavy and intensely Neptunian, and at its worse its made me want to commit suicide to end my problems. Retrograde makes it worse. At its best its made me have the mentality of a 40 year old, much more mature than peers, with an ability to write beautifully due to taking writing and Mercurial matters quite seriously...

I have one minor hard aspect, semi-square to my Moon. Even such a small aspect can make it difficult since it's tight and this is where my head vs. heart battles play out. Listening to my instincts and deepest fears/feelings (Virgo Moon in 9th) or following my fiery, Mercurial ambitions and ignoring my feelings.

I have Mercury aspecting every single planet in my chart, conjunct; Sun and Mars, Semi-square; Venus and Pluto, Square; Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

Mercury in Libra House III

Saturn-Neptune Capricorn, Moon Gemini, Jupiter Cancer, Mars Libra, Sun Virgo, Venus & Pluto Scorpio.

Don't know what people will make of that but I am extremely mentally active and would consider myself an exceptional learner.

My Mercury Saturn Square is probably the most problematic aspect of my mercury. Sometimes its tough to get what i'm thinking into that work hard, duty driven saturn mode.

I think house and placement have a bearing on the style of thinking of individuals as well as the aspects. Everyone is unique and has a different way of approaching things. This is something to celebrate, it is always interesting to hear someone talk about something in a different way so I can say, "Oh, I never thought about it like that."

=)

^ I'm similar.

Mercury 6H, near the 7H cusp:

Opposes Saturn, is square Uranus (almost exact), sextile Venus (1 degree orb), sextile Neptune, sextile Jupiter, trine Pluto (5 degrees), trine Mars if 10 degree orbs count...

Have I missed anything? Oh...it doesn't touch my singleton sun, but they share the same house. It has nothing to do with my Pisces moon.

What is my thinking style? Rapid, but also deeply analytical (thanks to the 6H.) Occasionally too self-critical.

In college, as a literature major, I felt that with the time limits given to me, I could either present brilliant, disorganized papers or bland, rigidly organized papers.

I go ga ga over writing that is both organized and brilliant....have I mentioned Mercury is smack dab between my Venus-Neptune conjunction and Jupiter? Like I LOOOOOOVE good writing so much?

But with all that, my true loves are cryptic and non-verbal communication, including telepathy. Which could be my Mercury trine 3H Pluto. Or 8H Pisces moon...or both.

In case anyone cares.
