Topic: Is the North Node the answer to who you REALLY are?

Trying to get my mind off of my pending problems and such, as of late I've been reading about North and South Nodes. I am very intrigued by this. My hypothisis (sp?) on this topic is that maybe the North Node is who we really come to be in this lifetime; and that we must not go by our birthcharts, rising signs, even moon signs to find out who we are and what we are meant to be in this life? or am I wrong???I found out my North Node is Leo and My South Node is Aquarius, I am not sure about the other placements and what house they are in, but I found this most amusing. The way I am right now, is very Aquarius...I'm eccentric, aloof, reseved, and at times yes I can be cold and detached. I do not like to draw attention to myself and I don't to have alot of friends. But has this brought me happiness? NO. Just a ho-hum kind of life. I used to think being dark and brooding was the way to go, But I starting to realize that is the very thing hiding me away from the world. My North Node...who I am meant to be...is actually who I want to be...sercretly. It's in Leo. I actually used to be annoyed by Leo's but I find they are very people who teach me lessons and who always to get me to speak louder and come out of my shell. I'm friends with a Leo male and he always tells me there is so much to me than my "lukewarm exterior". It's true. Deep down, I want to be a Leo, But I'm scared as all get out to leave my Aquarian comfort zone. My inquiry is this...Is the North Node REALLY the be all/end all to the gateway of we come to be in this lifetime? should we start to become our North Nodes to become our personal best??? I am so intrigued by this! Thanks!

I see your reasoning here. But I think you definitely still need to consider all other aspects and placements, such as the rising sign and the chart ruler and what aspects it makes. You still need to thoroughly examine the natal chart to determine what your true destiny set at birth is. But the NN and SN are extremely important, you are right. They show where we are coming from - what skills we have already mastered in the South - to where we need to venture to despite how difficult or daunting that journey might be - to the North. The North Node is our gateway to where we should try to go in this life. The South Node, we've been there done that, as the saying goes. If you have Leo NN you need to become, as you said, less dark and introspective and warmer, more open, more Leonine. Allow yourself to laugh freely, feel a gentle, vibrant and/or childlike happiness. Let yourself relax and feel the desire to expressive, whether it be art or taking a spontaneous dance class. Leo is the warm sun of the 5th house that brightens your chart, whereas Aquarius is the intellectual, eccentric and slightly contradictory 11th that brings us into a world of zaniness and meshing with others. The Leo NN is telling you to allow yourself to focus on self-expression more to reach your soul's true path. The house placements and aspects of both Nodes are VERY important to tell more about what the journey will be like.  IP: Logged |

^ Well said, sweet-scorpion.bella_taurus, as I said on another thread, the degrees are important, as far as I'm concerned, and I'll give you a reading from my fave book tomorrow. My NN is third decan Scorpio, 4th house. What am I doing? Learning to manage my household and personal affairs so it all runs smoothly. This is not about me being the SN Taurus, in the 10th house, being a powerhouse in some corporation, hoarding up wealth. No, it's all very self-sufficient, home-making oriented. Look back on your own life for clues.I've had one NN return and two SN returns thus far in life, and I'm still trying to make heads and tails of them. SN #1 message: "Get out!!" SN #2 message: "Get out!!" This was eighteen years later. NN message: "Get out!!" But this one had specific instructions - "Go to your dad." I have NN in Virgo in the 12th. NN ruler in Cancer in the 10th. SN ruler in Sagittarius in the 4th. The dad wanted me to become a physician. I would if I had the talent, I think. Heaven knows what NN in the 12 conjunct Saturn & Asc is suppose to mean. IP: Logged |

I love this thread. Its creative! I think nn is who we're becoming. I literally do feel like theres a transition happening right now, where Im going from intellectual genius know-it-all to dumb happy party girl. "This is my destiny & what I am becoming." JK. Lol! But if you think about it, kind of makes sense for the leo-aqua spectrum.
So I must focus on
the keeping with the group aspect. Finding out that which I like. Expressing spontaneously warmth without reason. closeness in commited relations-- NN Libras in the 5thIP: Logged |

Answer, no.Where you should look go for self growth? Yes It also points out where we are too comfortable and need to left go of. Think of it as a concept of having an overabundanc of one aspect and needing to channel it to aspect of scarcity that needs to be fed, watered etc. North node tells us what we need to work on otherwise we will repeat our next life needed to work on that area (of course only if you believe in reincarnation) IP: Logged |

In indian astrology the north node represents what you desire in life in excess and south node is what you "had" or do not care for, depending on its placement. Oh and they put an extreme importance on the nodes and give them full "planetary" status.
Like north node is in the 5th house you would desire kids, it may not come easy, chances are when you get kids you'll have a bunch of them. If you believe in karma that is.IP: Logged |

A close friend of mine has her nodes across the Leo-Aquarius axis. Don't know the exact birth time, but it's approximately 7pm - this produces an Aquarius or Pisces Asc. quote:

Using her Nodal returns here's what I've observed. SN return # 1 - Mom dies. NN return - Is adopted & separated from surrogate mom/grandmother. Put into role of mother and caretaker herself because adoptive mom is busy career woman, no time for baby. Hates it. SN return #2 - Becomes a mother to her own children. Reunited with surrogate mom/grandmother. NN in Leo conjunct Moon & Venus. ETA: At the NN return - the adoptive mom was very pushy, and actively tried to structure my friend's life. She rebelled & rejected all of it. Actually, first smack out of the box she hated the house. Cried, and cried to undo the adoption & be returned to her surrogate mom. The adoptive mom, Leo. Wow, this topic has me worried.I'm nowhere near my NN path. My NN is in the 3rd house, in Cancer. According to a book I read called "Lunar Nodes," by Celeste Teal, the 3rd house indicates being involved with writing, and communication. Cancer indicates me accepting and receiving nurturing. She mentioned that having a NN Cancer would indicate a hard, sterile kind of childhood. However, now there's a chance to "fix" that by having a family of some sort. Well! I'm not a writer, and I have no kids or husband. Yikes! Feel like I have to step on it, pronto. Thing is I'm so confused how the Cancer and the 3rd house fit. Does it mean I should write books for kids? Do I write about motherhood? (If I ever become a mother, that is.) How do you combine the sign with the house? Oh, but I am trying to get busy writing. The N.Node shows by sign and correct house placement what are the activities that will balance out the expression of your soul. It shows what is best to grow into, to move towards. ------------------

To answer the question in your title. Yes~! I really feel that way. Mine is aqua too and I really feel I just need to become more aqua. I think that's why i love aquas------------------
