In all honesty, I think people throw around the word "narcissist" a lot. Mainly, they use it to describe someone they view as snobby or some other undesirable trait. I also feel that some people use it to describe someone that they feel is selfish. Whether or not the person is actually selfish is debatable in some cases. Some people will consider a person 'selfish' when they really are not being selfish. So, I tend to take it with a grain of salt whenever someone says that word. There are genuinely narcissistic people out there, and I'm not denying that, but that word drives me nuts and annoys me because of how it is overused and misused a lot of the time. Kind of how it annoys me that "schizophrenic" is overused much in the same way, and is misused. IP: Logged |
