Out of curiosity I asked a Leo guy if I should cut my hair since, I need real life male opinions of what guys think of women with shorter hair.

He was first of all, surprisingly uncomfortable with the subject, beyond what I could imagine, and I feel really bad about even bringing it up. Second, he said he really thinks short hair looks 'terrible' and prefers women with medium-long hair. I was actually kind of surprised since many guys I know, will pretty much say any length is OK with them as long as it isn't sheared off or unattractive short. They usually aren't that passionate about what length of hair a girl *should* have.

Do any Leo guys here share the same liking for long locks in a woman? Is this a common thing for Leo guys? Also, have any girls here had a Leo BF in their lives who really disliked short hair? I'm rather disappointed since I was going to get a cool semi-short haircut (think rock and roll-ish) but I like the guy a bit, so now I feel like I'm at a crossroads and can't part with my long, straight hair... I have NO idea how to get around this and if I should ever bring it up again, and if he'd ever consider dating me if I cut it shorter.

Thanks for all replies from everyone, especially Leo guys out there!

Yea Leo is said to be hair-conscious what-have-you, but generally men like women to have longer hair. Just like most women like men to have relatively shorter hair. And maybe he's attracted to you? Cos why else would he care, unless he's in the image business.

Um... I'm actually both excited and scared to admit, you're right Lonake, he probably is somewhat attracted to me. My inner-self is screaming, 'How can this be?!' LOL I'm very poor with dating which is where the excitement-fear comes from... I also have like zero self-confidence when it comes to romance if it isn't obvious already. And nope, he definitely isn't into anything like the image business, he's trying to become a doctor.

Yes, that's a good point. I guess that's natural, I think it's just... his very intense reaction to the whole topic freaked me out. I'm lacking in self-confidence with men so I guess that's why. I guess I was a little hurt somehow, since I look really good with shorter hair since I've had it before, and I can't see why he wouldn't like me with it... but I get the feeling that'd be true. Sigh...

LOL Lonake stop I'm a blushing tomato now.

Hehe you could be right though. I once read in some magazine that Jesse McCartney cried or something when his GF cut her hair and said, 'baby, where'd your hair go?' LOLX10000 So maybe some guys just like to...run their fingers through it and touch it? EWW hahaha.

Maybe I could show him an older picture of how cute I looked with shorter hair and convince him otherwise if we (hopefully) start dating soon.

Yes. Guys like girls with long hair.

My guy has mars in leo... He loves my long hair. Even when it gets in the way or in my eyes, he likes brushing my loose strands behind my ear with his hands

Flowers in my hair are his fav.

Fraught with peril here SweetScorpion (I'm a Leo Moon if that counts) BUT if he likes you with short hair now, if you two hit things off he can then enjoy it if you grow your hair long once in a relationship.

IMO he'll see it as you grew your hair out to please him..vanity ego and all that.

Thanks for replying but actually we're going through the inverse now... longish hair before the relationship and, I'm considering cutting it off but we haven't started dating yet! That's why I'm stuck. I guess I'm going to have to do some Libran meddling and peace making here to make this work, haha...

I really can't see why guys don't like girls with shorter hair as much. I can see super extreme pixie like Anne Hathaway's short hair cut right now for Les Mis, but if it's classy and stylish + feminine what's the problem right? I'm more masculine in personality also so long hair feels uncomfortable on me for sports, and just the way I dress and want to come off. It's a big decision since short hair takes over a year for me to grow out even with really fast hair growth... I guess for now I'll hold onto it and maybe only take .5-1 inches off, with a better long style.

But uh, I have Leo Mars/Fifth House Moon and I like long hair. More to play with, braid, style, brush aside if a strand falls out of place...it looks good on girls too.

I don't mind short on a girl. Girl's hair is usually always nicer in texture than a dude anyways. Kinda needs the right face though.

I was with s0me0ne with a leo asc and he wasn't very happy when I got my l0ng locks chopped. His own hair is l0ng for a guy - shoulder length - and he's obsessively in l0ve with it.

I've plans of going partially bald and it's this leo asc guy who will have to do it. He isn't aware yet. B-)

Something is terribly wrong if your hair descisions are based on what a guy prefers. Do what you want, screw submitting to what men prefer.

On a side note I love men with long hair, I don't like short hair on men. Also I dated a Leo who prefered Mia Farrow's hair in Rosemary's Baby

i think most guys in general like women with long hair. we can all theorize about why, but everyone has their own reasons.

i have always had long hair and guys with Leo placements (especially venus or mars in leo) REALLY like me.

that said - i love long hair on both men and women, and i have NO leo placements.

I think women make a huge mistake in dressing for other women. Most women, IMO, do not look good with short hair. It's kind of like pheremones. It's a secondary sexual characteristic that DOES matter and does get noticed if just on a sub-concious level. I've had very long strawberry blonde hair in the past and believe me, it will change your life. More than a boob job even. LOL. I could work it too. It's the same with dresses. Men respond differently to women in dresses whether they do it conciously or not. I also take issue with the all even length across the bottom. It's unnatural and unsexy even if the hair itself looks good. I think it's the way the tendrils move with the sway of the hips. There's a reason Frederick's of Hollywood never used that even length on their models and why most of the old sirens like Ann Margaret never had the super neat look. Subtle things like that have a huge impact. And YES, I'm a Leo.

Yes. Start slow and slowly progress. Add layers. Maybe shoulder length? Anyways, whatever you end up deciding, iam sure you will look beautiful. Lots of ways to dress up a hairstyle. Good luck

I love long hair. I absolutely despise this trend of guys with shaved military cuts. It had to have been started by guys with ugly hair. I don't like it TOO long on men though and it's huge turnoff if he's always in the mirror or fussy with it like a woman. I liked the old Bon Jovi and the girls from HEART. I'm dating myself with that comment for sure.

I feel similarly actually. But I don't have a real preference for length of hair on guys... buzz cuts usually aren't my thing but if a guy has a great personality and look I'd deal with it, and as for long hair, like you said there's a limit to HOW long. If it's really long I'd probably not like it. The only hair style that really bothers me a lot with guys is a shaggy, curly overgrown mop. Like this here. http://media.photobucket.com/image/shaggy%20curly%20hair/suwarnaadi/sterlin g-knight-shaggy-hair.jpg

It just looks so un-styled and messy... looks like this really bother me! It's the Venusian in me coming out... I like for guys to be more polished. Any type of long hair besides this type is fine with me, but I can't figure this style out. I've seen it on so many guys before and they were all coincidentally really obnoxious personality wise too.

I'm trying to grow out my bangs to a longer length, they were baby length before and looked cute that way but they've hit mid-forehead now and it kind of sucks, lol.

Thanks for the reassurance! Thanks for making me feel better. At least I know I DO actually look good with shorter hair, it just feels weird, the idea of cutting it off for various reasons, like loss of femininity - though it sounds ludicrous writing it out, since it kind of is... you shouldn't equate femininity with hair length most of the time anyway. It's just a thing I'm going to have to figure out with time. And with the guy, lol. As I said I hope I can catch him first, and then coddle him into liking the shorter hair. :') Usually I don't care about guys' opinions but I'm sick of being A-L-O-N-E and I found a good one this time, haha.

Oh Queen...please don't remind me, you are so right. I know it seems really bad of me to seem like I'm basing my choice around this guy, but it's just the idea of hooking him into dating FIRST and then, getting it cut short that I'm struggling with. I think he really likes me a lot and I just want to get into the initial dating stage HOPEfully and then, I'm going to do what I want, since I'll feel more confident at that point. I'm too Libran in the way that I don't mind making small sacrifices for the sake of a partnership. Hence why I am usually happy to cut up guys and say like you, Screw them! But this time it's just.... different. I think Eros is involved somehow, I got STRUCK overnight, LOL.

I usually don't give a damn about what guys think of my looks, I'm a free spirit type... but combine the fact that he's a Leo and usually, I get easily influenced by Leo for whatever reason, and that I really am SO unsure of what to do, is making me feel weird about cutting it off. :'/

But thank you for saying that, about that Leo guy. It makes me feel better to know not all Leo guys dig super long hair.

Gotcha, not to go on a feminist spew, but just thought I'd remind you. If your a free spirit, just act like yourself, and any Leo will love you. I've had a couple of romances with Leo Suns and I'm a Leo Sun and honestly I don't think they care about your hair as much as you'd think, I know they can't stand tons of make up on women though.

Here is the hair I'm taking about:
