My buddy just confessed he thinks he has a gambling addiction. I was wonder where this can be found in a birth chart or what aspects might make it more likely.

I found this and looked at his chart. I thought it might be interesting to share with anyone else wondering about this problem.

This thread specifically mentions Leo/The 5th House/Jupiter

I looked at this person's chart and he has his 5th house ruler in his 6th house in Leo. He has FIVE planets in LEO and 4 of them trine Jupiter. Sheesh!

So that thread definitely answered my question.

It's interesting because I have no problem with gambling, despite being a Leo. I figured it was probably my Taurus moon which made me stingy but now I think its also my unaspected Jupiter! Ok well only minor aspected

I also wanted to add that those 4/5 planets in Leo (all within 3 degrees) that are trine Jupiter in it's critical degree form a grand trine with Neptune and Uranus in his 10th. I think that makes a lot of sense

I read somewhere that Mars/jupiter aspects especially harsh ones indicate love for gambling. These people love to take risks so that would include gambling.I have Mars square jupiter and I like gambling, its just fun to test your luck you know, but I am not an addict.

I'm thinking an afflicted Sun, Mars or Jupiter in the 5th house.

A friend of mine has indulged very much in gambling and is a huge risk taker, but is very, very lucky. Quite frankly it's ridiculous how lucky he has been. His Sun is 29° Scorp/0° Sag directly opposing Jupiter in the 8th. He has Aries Mars in the 5th trining Sun and Jupiter, but squaring Uranus and Neptune

He's not a serial addict, but is someone who once he has a taste of something he likes, he can't get enough of it until he tires of it or his luck runs dry. He has an addictive personality, though his recent English teaching job has kept him out of trouble.

Jupiter and the Fifth House in some sort of interaction with Earth Houses or Mars would make sense to me...

Pluto or Neptune in the 5th. Ruler of the 5th sq/opp them would do too.

I have Pluto Mars and Jupiter in 5th and a Leo Moon, gambling really doesn't have any appeal to me though.

I'm still a bit under the gambling age though anyways, so who knows.

^wow.

That is true for my father. His 5th house is in Aries. 2sc house cap mars oppose uranus.

He used to have really bad gambling habits. Started to gamble when he was 18. And he betted big.

Jupiter (chart ruler) is in taurus - 6th house square pluto, oppose sun n trine mars - he likes taking risks n pushing his luck.

Someone very close to me had a severe gambling addiction.

He has Neptune in the 5th house, and Mars (2nd)square Neptune.

This is the aspect I see consistently in chart of addicts.
