It's okay, I think it was some random query about whether your Neptune was in Sagittarius and if you were a child of the 70s...just being nosy!

Yes. Neptune in Sagittarius. Born in the 70s. Why do you ask? (besides "just curious" lol)

The very best nurses have this placement.

But like everything else associated with the 12th house, there is a certain danger that exist and being a Prison pen pal would magnify this. One of the dangers would be the sympathetic nature of a 12th house Venus and being scammed or taken advantage of.

The one problem point with this placement is their secret trysts. For whatever reason this seems to get them in more hot water than anything. But then that's part of the 12th house placement

Yes. I'm glad someone got it. Maybe i didn't word it the very best way but you hit the nail right on the head.

Shouldn't you be in bed? Asleep?

No, really, I was just curious! Some of your planetary aspects were similar to mine, so I just wondered if you were a product of the 70s, like me (and a million others...).

But back to the topic of this thread, I guess you won't be writing to any incarcerated men or women any time soon, will you?

JLyn,

My Venus is in the 12th House too in Aquarius. I've been happily married for 19 years. However, I'm a man. My wife didn't come from some prison or mental institution

I'm not so sure that it necessarily means an attraction to unattainable people. Sure, I joke a lot about attraction to celebrities, but in serious reality, its very possible to find true love with a 12th House aspect.

Think positive.

JLyn,
Like you, I have a pisces moon AND a 12th house venus (in leo). I've been married for 8 years, and it just so happens that my husband has venus in the 12th as well.

My whole life, I never saw myself getting married, it never seemed appealing to me. I was 27 when I met my husband, and BAM! it hit me. I knew I was going to marry him the first time I laid eyes on him. And he doesn't have a criminal record, by the way.

Honey I'd rather bounce on a bob-wired trampoline, get it.

LOL That would be my reaction to a ludicrous suggestion as getting bogged down with a criminal, a criminal-- let's not forget, that spent time in jail.

I think with venus in the 12th house, you have to learn to first love yourself, your essense, you own soul. It's about self discovery. Then after you are complete and present with yourself, love from the right one will come.

Why don't you suggest she get in contact and have a love affair with ghosts, a tree, a chipmunk, a car, a blade of flipping grass?

Everyone and every thing needs love right? How about you take your suggestion and do just that. Don't tell someone, who is obviously sane but looking for some answers and a bit vulnerable to go and hook up with a damn serial killer, rotting in jail. You are beyond totally useless at other people's threads. Just stick to your own silly threads about your shallow, silly life, will ya?

lol....Yes!

Also, why wouldn't she suggest writing to a pen pal overseas to like a soldier or someone, who was stuck in the hospital and lonely. This isn't about being lonely for company where you can find tons of friends. It's about being vulnerable and SAFE with someone, who will understand, care, cherish you. Like some idiot, who got himself in jail would understand that.

And even if some guy in jail speaks to an outsider, it's only for their selfish reasons. They probably think: "Oh another gullible broad. Yum. I'm gonna get me some nookie."

For what it's worth, I have mentored (actually met and sat with) and wrote a man in prison and I totally fell for him. He totally satisfied my need to "figure someone out" and actually I think someone like me was exactly what he needed. It's funny because our synastry is absolutely amazing and I do think we opened each other's worlds up quite a lot.

Not everyone in prison is a murderer, in fact most are non-violent offenders and just troubled. So C1nd3rs' advice might not be too far-fetched. You people need to chill out.

I don't have Venus in the 12th, but my 12th house ruler is Venus..and my Venus is in Scorpio, in my 1st house. So I totally relate to the attraction to unattainable, troubled, messed-up men.

Hospitals fall under the 12th house.
Health issues affecting your son,
your wife's self sacrificing
(and yes that's what it is)
kidney donation, and the incredible love in your family circle.
This is all 12th house Venus stuff.

PS if this is uncomfortable, I can edit.

I would like to add that the idea of writing people in prison isn't a bad idea, but you don't have to do it for romantic purposes. my dad is in prison serving a 15 year sentence for drug charges, so I'm kind of familiar with this whole thing. my dad tells me that most of those guys don't have anybody, nobody writes, nobody visits etc. so I'm sure it would mean a lot to those guys to get a letter every once in awhile, knowing that somebody was thinking about them would make their day. my heart hurts for these people (I have aqua sun in the 12th,so go figure).I feel called to help people in prison in some capacity.

Not sure I have a Venus in Gemini 2nd sometimes the 1st house depending on the house system with a Moon in Gemini. Maybe you feel lonely because you haven't met anyone that expresses the same emotional depth as you in past relationships. Maybe you dive head first without a life jacket or snorkel.

From theastrologyplace.blogspot.com

Those with Venus in the 12th house have a loving and sympathetic nature, but they often feel compelled to sacrifice their own desires and give themselves in order to feel validated. Romantic partners may be unstable or addictive personalities, but they can become enablers in relationships.

Through an unconscious need for love and validation, they sometimes fall in love with unobtainable lovers, and become easily hurt when others take advantage of them. The love life may be kept hidden and concealed for years, and those with this position of Venus are particularly prone to secret affairs. Venus here may also fall in love with the illusory image of a lover, and then become disillusioned when the real person exposes their human failings. Still, Venus in Pisces loves with a kind of religious zeal.

Past life readings for Venus in the 12th house are interesting, but their trustworthiness is debatable. Several past life astrologers believe that Venus in the 12th house manipulated others with their wealth or beauty and this was the source for their previous undoings.

“Venus may incline you to various forms of indulgence which boost your sense of well-being. Secretly, you may eat large quantities of sweets, or go on periodic shopping binges (usually buying beautiful clothes, jewellery, or aesthetic objects). If your Venus or your chart as a whole reflects the influence of Taurus more than Libra, you may deny your own materialism, while nevertheless allowing yourself to become quite attached to your belongings. You may also be ashamed of your indulgent behaviour, which may be excessive, but which is also a healthy attempt to love yourself and experience greater pleasure in life.” By Tracy Marks, Your Secret Self

Venus in the 12th house gains self-worth from helping the unfortunate and those in emotional and financial need, and may be attracted to professions such as social work and nursing. Marriage and partnership can be used as a means to escape, and self-esteem may have been sacrificed and talents suppressed. However, a strong value system and peace-making skills could be their hidden strengths. Happiness is usually tied to the spiritual, mystical, otherworldly and ethereal side of life. Artistic and musical flair may similarly be buried gifts, which might offer the individual peace and happiness while in solitude. Venus in the 12th house is beneficial for charitable institutions and it increases kindness and goodwill.

Venus in this position can conceal and repress their love nature, and there may be a deep love of quiet and privacy. Beauty is found in hidden things, but feeling beautiful is sometimes discouraged in childhood, and they may have felt overlooked, ignored, unnoticed and disregarded in this department. Venus in the 12th house has an aura of loneliness and seclusion, and some suffer from shyness and vulnerability, and so they are easily hurt.
