Pain with father? Definitely. I was born without father.
"Literally" I have a step-father but unfamiliar with. It's like two broken strange families lived together for a few years and pretended they are one.

I look at Chiron by house, not sign, as that is what my studies have seemed to indicate. So, for you, Chiron would make for wounds in getting your material needs met. This Chiron may get wealthy, but still feel afraid that he would lose it, for example.

I think we can make great progress in the house in which our Chiron resides, if we put our mind to it. I am healing from my painful childhood. I have a 4th House Chiron.

The hallmark of Chiron is using your pain to heal others, although you will never completely, get beyond your own, according to the Astrologers with which I agree.

However, you can make great strides in the House of your Chiron and use your wounds to excel in a wonderful way, as you seem to be doing. When you do that, you get a great depth and a great satisfaction in the house in which Chiron resides imho
