Do you guys think that hair has some kind of correlation with one's advancement in life? Is that the MC? A guy that i knew had great opportunities and he cut his hair. He was a model... Once he cut his hair, his mother agency dropped him but kept him under contract so, they would give him the runaround as far as it came to booking jobs. His standing in society withered a lot. He kept working at a restaurant and would barter for TFP Case 2: Britney Spears.... Goes through a meltdown, shaves her hair and is thrown into that concervatorship... I'm also taking into acct the biblical story of samson and delilah... Is there some kind of mystical meaning in hair? Can one's standing in society be reflective of hair and it's length? Can the physical attributes of a person be seen or described through the natal chart? If it's not the MC, could it be the IC? pluto crossed over Britney's IC as the shaving occured.... I wonder. I think you're on to something! Being part of our image, hair reflects, in many people's eyes, the level of health and/or self-care (and, to a degree, even the level of perceived seriousness/conformity, we all know how quick ppl are to judge other ppl sporting a mawhawk or an unusual hair color). The first impression having so much to do with getting/not getting a job, hair has a lot to do with one's career... As far as the Midheaven goes, I think it's possible that bad aspects to it, as far as transits and progressions go, might translate (amongst other things, of course) into unfortunate decisions concerning one's image, which lead to their career being on a downfall... Just my 2 cents...IP: Logged |

last year I decided to cut all my hair off while Mars was transiting my MC. I rocked that hair until now. Last year after cutting it I couldn't even imagine ever having long hair again. But now I have Moon transit MC and I want nothing more than my hair growing back to its former glory. IP: Logged |

Appearance is usually the Asc in astrology, the mc is status. But there's major psychology in hair. I wrote an article but haven't got it up anywhere cuz I'm busy redesigning my sites. Male facial hair [or lack of it] is very significant, as is the shaving[or not] of the nether regions in men and women. When Britney shaved her head she was having a meltdown and I'm sure it was her way of saying that she quit her role as something to drool over. If her mc/ic was affected it could've been squaring her asc [or trining or whatever]. Some do associate a certain appearance with a specific status and whilst they both [asc + mc] belong to the same person, they have a different role and do not mean the same thing. I have a 50+ yr old friend who wears dreadlocks down her back and her appearance says hippy, yet she's just about paid off her mortgage and is, by and large, a model member of society. Many people are superficial and will judge on looks but we're also told not to judge a book by its cover....appearance is what we want people to "see" whereas mc is what we achieve through work/effort. And I should've mentioned that the relationship [aspect] between the mc and asc will maybe reflect if the two are compatible or not...and you'd need to take the sun into account too.No one has the perfect chart but hard aspects from the sun to mc/asc will often show more awareness of the conflict between the inner/outer, private/public personas. ^ there are planets and their rulership... "Capricorn : The knees, joints of the body and the hair." it doesn't say that cap's ruler rules hair but it says that mars, does... http://www.homeoint.org/morrell/astrology/medical.htm There's a rulership book out there, somewhere... I skimmed but it is too detailed and vague, imo. IP: Logged |

because in the cases you listed, their careers depended on the hair ??? A model will want their hair perfect to stay in the job, but do you think a surgeon will get fired if he go bald ?! I don't think MC has anything with the hair. Hair is affected by the sun and the ASC.IP: Logged |

Samson's hair in the Bible was just a symbol. He was comanded not to sleep with delilah. Once he disobeyed God, he lost his blessing. The hair was simply a symbol.IP: Logged |

I'm glad someone said it, seriously. This is basic astrology, the type of thing you learn about when you pick up your first book. Ascendant is appearance. Midheaven has to do with career and social status. The idea of associating hair with the MC is inherently asinine and shows a shaky grasp of the fundamentals. IP: Logged |

But you are listing professions and don't think a surgeon and model would have mc's showing their career choices?

Not to be the bearer of uh, reality, but i'd like to take this moment to remind you that to countless of people in the world today and in history, astrology, overall, is/was "asinine"... Yet, here you are.
