I have Mars Gemini in the 12H ruled by Taurus. I always imagined the shame that comes along with my playing piano and singing being interrupted by my parents was because of my Mars being there. When they intrude, I feel exposed and embarrassed. I wondered if anyone else with the placement feels the same - when you are doing something you're passionate about and someone finds out unintentionally - how do you feel?IP: Logged |

Brittany Murphy i think had mars in her twelfth... She had killer pipes. She would never let anyone know that she could sing, though... Til this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61eBpff-5U8 ------------------ "To PLAY is human. To Rewind is divine." IP: Logged |

...Was that really Brittany Murphy?Interesting. I didn't let anyone know I could sing 'til these past 6 months either. I don't feel embarrassed knowing people watch my YouTube videos but my parents just trigger an awful temper in me when they drop in unexpectedly. IP: Logged |

I used to be brainwashed into thinking and feeling like that. My 4th house is the culprit. Since Pluto in Capricorn began making an applying conjunction to my natal Saturn and Neptune I've finally started to be exactly the way I really am and not what others want me to be. Like 100% myself. No more hiding, no more feelings of guilt, shame, no more inability in recognizing others' patterns in trying to manipulate me. I'm Earth influenced, Pluto will do me good. And with Uranus's square I let everyone know who they're dealing with. Uranus is the dispositor of my Sun and Venus.Saturn & Neptune trine my 9th house Mars in Taurus. Mars conjuncts my Moon, the latter being in conjunction also with Jupiter. Hannaramaa, always remember it's not your fault! You don't have anything to be ashamed of. You're just yourself doing your thing. Everyone must express herself/himself. It's the ones who make you feel otherwise who should be feeling remorseful and start questioning themselves about what they said and did to make you feel like this. ------------------ Been studying Astrology since 2002; posted on LL between 2006 and 2008; extremely rabid 24/7 forum lurker & big fan since then until 2012. Yes, Mars in Taurus 12th houseI love art and performing but I HATE having people watching me while doing it. Literally locking away my sketchbooks when I was a kid I didn't like anyone seeing them which was kind of awkward because I went to a vocational hs, were presenting my work was a part of the learning process. Art just feels intimate to me. IP: Logged |

Aww, thanks DII. My parents aren't directly unsupportive. I guess I wished they took more of an interest in my talents, especially because I actually AM good at it (and not some delusional "Worst Idol Audition" person). But my mom only ever comes upstairs when she can't get ahold of me to do something for her, and my dad will mock me because that's his way of showing affection. I have Virgo in the 4th, so maybe that has something to do with it? Virgo is a sign that likes functioning in an automatic way, right? So expressing my Pisces NN traits is uncomfortable....maybe? There's no aspect or planet in my 4th either. IP: Logged |

Yes, indeed..! She was also doing songs for the movie Happy Feet... The girl had a great voice and no one knew her for it. Even now, i think maybe a handful know that the voice in the oakenfold song is her.

I think it's only natural. I think when anyone is in the 'zone' there is a certain level of letting their guard down to access their muse and when they intrude, it's almost an invasion of privacy but, you also have the responsibility of setting limits so that they know how far they can go and can't. The anger is probably just built up resentment that you've had against them for a while. That's a childhood thing, more than likely... If they never encouraged that side of you, maybe you're resentful that they jump in to be a part of it when u had no help or encouragement from them while you were younger? Just throwing a wild guess out there.. I haven't seen your chart. IP: Logged |

I got over my fear of other's seeing me perform when I started posting my videos on YouTube and was shocked by the positive responses. Then again that's not IN FRONT of people! I dream of performing for an audience someday though. I'll just blacklist my parents. IP: Logged |

You're right. And for some reason I'm able to pinpoint what it is easier this year, than others. No, they never encouraged me and they don't encourage or discourage me now. My dad mocks me singing, and my mom never asks so whenever the come barging in unexpectedly and interrupt my "sessions" I guess you could say, I just feel extremely self-conscious!

Singing is the only thing I can still do even when I haven't slept for like 24h or feel greater physical pain than I do everyday. 'Thank you' Sun, ruler of the 12th in 6th & Mars opposite Pluto for having done irremediable damage to you know what.------------------ Been studying Astrology since 2002; posted on LL between 2006 and 2008; extremely rabid 24/7 forum lurker & big fan since then until 2012. Well, calmly, after you've vented the anger through exercise or something, let your dad know that he's out of line. Make it clear that it isn't ok and that it's disrespectful. State what you want; privacy, them to back off, etc... Then, you can sing peacefully. If they trangress, then you're allowed to open up a little bit more and state your point with a little more zeal... I don't mean that you should throw the piano at them but if he is crossing blundaries, he is disrespecting you and not honoring what you say.. In my opinion, you're allowed to then defend yourself and your space. Make sure that you have an agreement if and when u do decide to have the talk.. Only when u have their written or spoken word that they'll abide, can u kick as$ with full right if they step out of bound. IP: Logged |

Hannahrama, I think this is because of your saturn placements on the sun/moon. The moon for a girl is an important aspect of her personality, and saturn is a hardworking planet. you shouldn't feel self-conscious. There is life outside of your family! Shocking, I know. haha I saw your singing and I thought you are beautiful and talented! By posting those videos you had more courage than I ever did. and I'm sure many others! I always want to post videos but I keep mine on private. 5th nn?

I have Virgo Asc. There's this Virgo double-sided coin of perfection/timidity which is "the sword of Damocles". I still dream about the day when I'll finally be able to upload videos of myself singing on Youtube. I am sure the last Virgo New Moon will trigger some good changes for me and you. quote: Originally posted by hannaramaa: Aww, thanks DII. My parents aren't directly unsupportive. This is true for me! It's not that I asked a bunch of questions but I talk a LOT and my mom never had the patience for it (she's an Aries sun, Taurus ASC, and Libra moon - go figure.) she always criticized my voice saying it was too monotone, or my stories were too long and I needed to work on being more concise, or that I was talking too much and interrupting her show. Never realized that it had to do with communication (Gemini) until now! IP: Logged |

Okay see now I'm intrigued if anyone has an answer for why C1ND3R's "quirk" is working out alone, and mine is singing. What's your 12H ruled by? Mine is Taurus, and Tauruses rule the throat (and is ruled by Venus = art) plus my Mars is in Gemini which is, like, chatty cathy.. Yours is in Aries which are always on-the-go type of people, now to wait for your 12H ruler... IP: Logged |

When the big planetary change from libra to scorpio happens on oct 5th, it'll test your mars.. It would be nice to deal with it NOW, to avoid the aggravation, later.IP: Logged |

I like to dance - but can't do it in public, i'm full of energy when i'm in private and have a good control of my body but if i'm at a party - i can't find the will to dance and if i try - it's as if i command my body by speech (MOVE HAND MOVEE, MOVE LEG!! MOVEEEE!!) - it's awful... but sometimes works with alcohol ( one way to put the Mars guardian to sleep ) ------------------ [☼ ► ♊ ... ☾ ► ♈ ... Ⓐsc. ► ♋] IP: Logged |
